Scott laughed and shook his head, "No, my father is, well was in the Ministry and he held a pretty high rank plus my mother was a duchess or whatever. I never quite understood anything, I just wanted to go off with my friends, you know? Well anyway, my parents held balls sometimes twice a week and I was forced to dance with all of her friends' daughters," Scott explained, continuing to lead.
He looked down at his feet for a moment, then brought his gaze back to Ella. He smiled, hoping she was having fun.

Ian arched a brow, setting down his glass and tilting his head to one side. Having the tendency to be awfully dense, being the Gryffindor he was, he let out a small laugh. "Yeah, of course, we're good friends." He smiled slightly as the commotion began to quiet down around them.
Of course, the ball was in a wreck with the glass and pillars all thrown about the floor. Some couples refused to let the night end, however, and were slowly filling up the dance floor once more. Ian played with the hem of his shirt as he looked back at Jac, noticing the slight smirk on her face combined with the wicked twinkle in her eye. Finally understanding, Ian flushed to the roots of his hair, swishing his glass around clumsily.
"Ohh... Oh, no no." He could almost imagine Dax's face if rumors spread about that. "We just get into loads of trouble together, quite platonic really." He nodded, still blushing at the unexpected question.
Then, grinning sheepishly, he sat down at the nearest table and tried to collect himself. "I think we'll have it easy in Defense tomorrow. Starsmore looks hardly like he'll be able to prepare a class." He paused, looking back at Jac with a smile.

((wow, sorry it took me a while to reply. I was on Vacation! haha it was great but i had zippo computer!!! But im back now! ha!))
Ella nodded her head as he explained, she may not have had the same type of parents in all ways, but in a way, with tings like the throwing balls often and all, they were quite alike. She understood fairly well to what he was saying. "Oh, I see. Yea, I kind of know what you mean, my parents always had to find some sort of occasion to have a ball! It was exhausting" She chuckled. As Scott looked down, then looked back to her and smiled, she felt her heart lift and she genuinely smiled. And not just a small smile, she felt her cheeks lift. She realized she hadn't smiled leisurely like this in ages. Ella continued with the conversation, "My parents were always trying to set me up with the...boys there" She laughed at the thought when her parents actually thought she might be interested in a young Crabbe boy. "I don't think they knew what they were doing"

Jac watched Ian playfully as Ian finally realised what she was hinting at and giggled at his as he spluttered. She chuckled and set her empty glass down on the table. She had always thought about the possibility of Ian and Loren being an item but now that Loren and Dax had finally sorted out their issues, as she had noted them happen, those thoughts had been dashed. Jac didn't mind much, it didn't affect her in the slightest.
When Ian sat down, Jac strolled over slowly, swishing her dress from side to side and smiling happily. Looking up, she saw Ian watching her and she blushed slightly. Giggling, she pulled herself onto the table, resting her feet on the chair next to him. She smiled at Ian and played with a curly lock of black hair that hung just next to her eye. She always thought it looked better black when she was in red. Then, flicking her loose hair over her shoulder, she said, "so now what are we going to do? I'm up for more dancing if you are."

Scott laughed, "Parents only try to do what they think is best. You should've seen the girls my mother tried getting me to even glance at. After that night, I made her promise no more interfering with my dating life, not that I had one way back then," he said shrugging. "But look at what all those balls have done to me," he said smiling.

Ella laughed. "Well somebody seems sure of themself" She joked, winking at Scott. "So, what do you do for fun around here?" Ella asked, glancing around the hall, showing that when she said 'here' she meant Hogwarts. "I haven't got a chance to look around" She added.

Grace had been bumped by a dancing couple when the professor had disappeared. She had turned to apologise and turned back and she was all alone in the middle of the dance floor. Sighing heavily, she looked around for people she knew. She spotted Ella and Scott and waved sheepishly, not certain if they would see her.
When she was bumped again, she took the hint and left the dance floor. She headed for the refreshments counter and took a glass of punch. Grace looked around again, smiling at the people around her who seemed to recognise her. She seemed to have been left behind and abandoned by everyone. Looking around, she hoped she would find someone she knew, Bog, where are you?

Boggleworth pulled a face of momentary disgust as the ministry offficial continued her ramblings, they always thought they knew best. Surpressing his flashing eyes he slipped away winking at his Headmaster and darting with a quick burst of speed back into the Great Hall itself, a lucky escape that he thought taking a deep breath but knowing in his heart of hearts that he'd still be in for it tomorrow, an even harder grilling he guessed. But for now he was safe and he'd live life to the full as he always tried to. Head and shoulders above most in the hall he gazed around at the swirling dancers, some failing quite miserably at pulling off daring moves whilst others just shuffled their feet in complete confusion and obvious embarrassment.
Scanning the room with his face brightening with every passing moment as the ball's atmosphere assailed his senses, a swirling mass of colours with little clear seperation between the houses; on the shining slick dancefloor itself leastways. Even with his advantage in height he failed to find who he sought, so bounding upon a chair so recently vacated by a greenfaced lad rushing off, presumably to be sick, Boggleworth swayed gingerly upon his vantage point, flapping his arms in a comic gesture to restore balance, aha, there she is! He thought with a pronounced grin enveloping his features. The bouncing locks of blond hair were quite unmistakable.
Diving from the chair as abusive comments were hurled after him for dirtying the seat Boggleworth strove once more through the crowd, dodging and weaving, ducking and diving, once roughly pushing past two boys lcoked in an epic struggle whilst the girl they seemingly fought over looked on panic-stricken, ordinarily he may have done something, perhaps break it up on a good day, but now he had a mission...have fun.
Seeing Grace ahead of him the one he sought so, he wondered at the apparent ease she had for moving through the crowds, seemingly gliding along as the masses parted before her. Excusing himself on countless occasions he gradually strove through, what seemed like an epic journey merely lasted a few moments, then he reached out calling after Grace exlaiming "where are you off to?" Coming to a halt before his beautiful lady the young gentleman cut a sharp bow grinning excitedly. "Y'alright love?" He asked noticing the lack of glass or dancing partner.

Grace heard a voice that made her smile. She turned around slowly, still smiling, and saw Bog was now in front of her. "Alright," she shrugged, "I was getting worried you had disappeared but apparently not." She could not wipe the smile from her face but held herself back from throwing herself on him.
"You?" she asked. She was anxious to enquire about where he had disappeared to but couldn't get it over her heart to do anything more then what she was doing, which was smile. She began to swish her purple dress from side to side like a little excited girl being taunted with a present.

Boggleworth's brow creased in mirth "eh? Me disappear? Hardly well I did have just a little situation to sort out." He laughed linking arms with Grace and steering their pathway towards the bar, he was feeling quite parched, a little water would be just the ticket. "Just alright? Don't you think it's wonderful?" He said with obvious sarcasm, earlier he had been extremely enthusiastic but now too many of the lower years had plucked up the courage to dance, so now the entire place seemed far more crowded.
"You know that purple really brings out the colour of your eyes." He commented half-distractedly as he suspiciously looked around, everyone seemed far more liekly to be damned Ministry spies these days.
"Oh sorry," He apologised realising his blunder, "it is really beautiful though, honest, much better than hers there." He smirked trying to brighten the atmosphere.

Grace allowed Bog to lead her towards the refreshments table. She still had that stupid smile on her face she realised as they then stood by the table. Shaking herself awake, she noticed the sarcasm in his words. "I don't know!" she said slowly, "I think it's rather pleasant to see the others getting into the swing of things."
Bog seemed distracted for a moment and Grace watched him closely. He was definitely on his own planet. She was sure that if she had ran towards Ella and Scott Bog would not have noticed. But before she could muster the courage to run, Bog seemed to be back with her. As quickly as he was gone, he was back. This made Grace frown. "Yes, well, I had to support my house in some way ... this was the only way I could think of."

Chuckling as they approached a vacant table Boggleworth said with a wry grin, "aye you're always one for supporting the team, someone has to. Even our Head of House isn't showing a good impression," he said finally divulging what was upon his mind but not wishing to dwell upon so a controversial subject he quickly added "Methinks I need a drink," taking a conveniently free cup of water he gulped it down quickly; feeling all of a sudden rather hot and flustered. Mopping his brow with his sleeve he took a seat with a deep prolonged sigh but gave a reassuring smile to ease the tension encroaching upon them. "What happened to you that day in the common room? You really scared and I haven't managed to drive it from my mind since."

Acelin was usually fashionably late but rarely did she get the opportunity to be fashionably late and look this good. Her black dress was short and her heals high and she confidently swaggered into the Great Hall with a scintillatingly seductive smile on her face. She winked at a boy who was nearby and laughed out loud as her took a second look and a third and continued to stare and drool and stare.
She giggled all the way to the refreshments table where two older students were standing. It's so adorable! Ace thought, screwing her face up at the adorable sight. She took a glass of pumpkin juice and waltzed through the crowds, keeping her drink high so she didn't spill. She watched certain couples on the dance floor as the waltzed by and it made her smile, it was her radiant one too. She reached a table and sat down so she could see the couples dancing.

It had taken Olivia forever to make her way downstairs. Her dress had decided to become a little to small. Olivia had struggled to zip up the deep plum colored dress, but when she looked in the mirror and forgot about how she couldn't breathe she gasped. That couldn't be her. The normally plain girl had transforming in a a beautiful young woman.
Checking her delicate gold wristwatch she noticed she was already almost a half hour late. Great! Liv check to make she her hair was still good. She had spent an hour making sure every wave was perfect. She took on that look in the mirror, strapped on her gold heels and grabbed her matching clutch.
As Liv walked into the ball her cheeks flushed. She stood a few steps into the hall waiting for no one. She was so nervous. She was a quiet, timid, normal girl. She wasn't used to being all dressed up. She noticed the people dancing. Liv had never dancing with anyone but her father before, she was almost positive she would be bad at it. The punch table was also crowded, to crowded for the fifth year to get a drink. She sighed as she looked around again, still awkwardly standing in the front of the hall. She doubted anyone would notice her, especially not a boy. To top it all off, she still couldn't breath!

Giggling to herself, Grace followed Bog to the vacant table and sat down as he did. She leaned on the table and watched him gulp down a whole glass of water. He seemed tense, awkward, but Grace simply laughed. He wasn't usually this tense and it bad her smile.
Then he mentioned what had happened and her smile faded. Grace dropped her eyes and ran her index finger along the table absently. "I dunno," she mumbled, and shrugged. Honestly she didn't, it was a peculiar thing to go through all that again but with no guidance, no Faye. I frightened myself too, she thought.
