Keifer stayed where he was in the ditch as Thom clambered out to the unicorn. He closed his eyes and tried to steady his breathing. He wanted to ask Thom if he found anything but his breathing prevented it.
(ooo... plans...evil... lol))

Thom slowed down as he approach the skeleton. The bones were smooth and freshly stripped, as they were still a gleaming ivory rather than a stained yellow. The rib cage had collapsed, but Thom could feninitely make out the smooth, shapely head of a horse, and what was better was the rather long and beatuiful horn sticking from it's forehead. It must have been a dominant male.
Squatting down, Thom aimed his wand at the horn. "Diffindo!" he muttered under his breath, a satifying cracking sound filling the air as the horn broke off cleanly and fell into his palm.
Thom stood up, and waggling the horn triumphantly at Keifer. "Good, eh?" he said a little too loudly.

Keifer smiled and nodded. "Brilliant... but keep your voice down" he looked around but being in a ditch didnt help much, asides from the fact the pain was blinding him. He could see, but everything was darker and more blurred. "I think... you'll get some decent... money for it"

Thom walked back to the ditch, but stood on the edge of it, scanning the surroundings. After a couple of hundred feet, everything passed into darkness. It was getting late, and no doubt the sun had started to sink by now. "I think we should go somewhere we can see the light. I remember last night at Divination, Halo mentioned a clearing the Unicorn constellation appeared to point to. We should go there, try finding it. At least I'll know where we are then."
He held out his hand for Keifer. "Can you walk?"

Keifer shook his head "You found it... you keep it"
Keifer listened to his explaination and when asked if he could walk he simply said. "I can... barely talk" he tried a laugh but it didnt work. "I'll be able... to if you... help me" he choaked.

"Not a good.. idea to use magic..." He thought for a minute and smiled "Ill... crawl" He joked. He now thought they'd got away from the things that were trying to digest them. "You go... and look... Ill wait here... Ill be fine... they appear to have gone"

Thom considered this, but for all he knew the clearing was a hundred miles away from here. To leave Keifer alone in his state in the middle of the Forbbiden Forest after what had just happened would be too irresponsible, even for Thom.
"I can't do that, Keifer... what happens if the wands or the lethifold find you before I get back? You'd be..." Thom couldn't bear to think about it.
"Mobilicorpus!"
Keifer's body suddenly levitated off the ground. "You'll have to come, I'm afraid."

Keifer felt himself levitated off the floor and smiled. "I dont... really have a... choice in that matter do i?" he said. He was floating on his back, it was an eerie feeling.

Thom huffed a nervous laugh. Keifer was mobile for now, but what happened when they met some other dark creature? No levitation spell was going to protect Keifer. Thom mentally cursed himself - this whole thing was his fault. If he had only had the intelligence to keep his wand with him, none of this would have happened.
He remembered back to last night's Divination lesson, of Halo and Moncrieff's talk of how the magic around Hogwarts would be enhanced to impossible levels today... if only he'd remembered. He was a fool.
Jerking his wand gently, Thom and Keifer began to move along at a swift pace. "It's going to be a full moon tonight," he told Keifer casually. "And I haven't a clue what time it is. Oh, here..." Thom reached into his coat pocket and pulled out the half-empty flask. "Have the rest of this. Drink as much as you can, it will probably help."

Keifer laughed as he thought about what sort of situation they were in. "Y'know... If it wasnt... for me being... like this... i'd be enjoying... myself"
Keifer took the flask and wondered if it was the firewhisky they were drinking by the lake. Taking a sip he realised it was at the liquid burnt his throat. "...Thanks Thom"

"You drink that quickly. It's give you you're strength back."
Thom moved Keifer along so that he was in front of him. "I think the clearing is East - so I'll need to check which direction we're going in." Stopping, Thom placed his wand flat in the palm of his hand. "Point me." he said commandingly.
The wand shook feverishly for a moment before twisting sharple to his right. "Well it says that's North. So we're heading in the right direction." he said cheerfully.
For a moment Thom swore he'd heard a distant snap of a twig behind them. Unfortunately, he was nowhere near prepared to fight whatever was there, and began their journey once more, this time with a swift pace.

Keifer drained the rest of the flask, it burnt it throat in a pleasant way. Keifer knew he was infront of Thom now and wondered how long it would be till he was back on solid ground.
"Lost the sence of direction Thom?" he smiled. "I think... actually i cant think"
