Carrie was impressed, and raised her eyebrows slightly accordingly. She had a passion for DADA and she could tell this class was going to be good, and that the teacher had a true talent to share.

"Now, onto the Defence part of this spell. This spell creates companions, friends... and warriors." Leigh said, putting a slightly more serious tone on warriors. "These animals, if they sense you're in any danger, shall defend you until they die. That is part of the spell that works the greatest. The smaller, weaker animals aren't that good. But over the coming term, this spell shall strengthen the more we practise it. The more you practise, the slowly you build up it's power, until you finally summon forth a mighty dragon, or a powerful tiger." The classes eyes were all direct on him, each with their own individual ideas.
"Now before anyone asks me to create a dargon, the amount of energy it requires is tremendous, thus limiting my creational powers, for I shall say now, this spells drains the imagination. Yes, after summoning several different animals to be with you at the one time, the power it requires for each additional animal is great." Leigh explained, getting down to the dangers of it now. "That is the first warning. The second warning is, I do not wish anyone to try and summon a Phoenix, for it takes even more power to summon one, then to summon a dragon."

She sighed slightly, she had wanted terribly to try and summon a phoenix after playing with the one the Professor had summoned down at the lake, but now she knew that that would be nea impossible, if not a completly futile effort. It was still an intriguing spell though. Not being able to summon a phoenix would not parch her interest in it. This was still fascinating to her.

"Now, it's your turn." Leigh said. "Take out some parchment, a quill and begin writing down these simple spells." Leigh saw all his class groan in bewilderment for they had to write, and not use spells.
"Now, I will dictate these simple words to combine with 'Exdamentia'. Do not get confused." Leigh continued.
(OCC: You guys don't have to write these. Just remember them.)
Leigh slowly spoke the words and spelling to the class.
Felinic - Felines Caninic - Canines Draconic - Dragon Phoenix - name says it. Wingdra - Any bird. Rodentica - Rodents Horselica - Horses Marinica - Marine mammels Lycanthropic - Werewolves
Seeing his class finish the writing, he saw an awkward glance from one of his students. He turned around and opened his chest. He pulled out the scaly creature who snapped at him, but upon seeing who he was the creature didnt snap.
Leigh turned back round, seeing the classes, some of whom gasped. For in his hands was a young dragon, uncurling it's wings.
"Now, this little one is created by the spell, but is a unique speciman." Leigh said, seeing the dragon in his arms.

Helia wrote down the entire list, making sure that she had each spelling correctly. She made a notation beside the phoenix though: Do not attept!
She looked up and saw the young dragon in Professor Addis's arms. She raised her hand, "What makes it so special professor?"

"He requires food." Leigh said, still stunned by his freak accident. he mistimed the spell and though it worked, out came a dragon hatchling that needed to be fed, and slowly grew.

She stared at the little dragon, amazed at what magic could really do. She wondered if the Professor could just dismiss it like the other animals, but restrained herself from asking, for fear of being thought of as a know-it-all or busy body.

Once Kieron had finished writing down the list of words that the Professor had told them, his eyes were widened by the sight of the little dragon. Facinated by the sight, he smiled, but couldn't help but be curious at why the dragon needed food if it was indeed created by magic. It was amazing to see though, and he finally knew know what had been in the chest he was so curious about earlier, which made him relieved for some reason.

Storming into the room, not caring if anyone was on the otherside of the door, Jerred walked in. He saw that the class was half over. He smirked confidently as he strode down to the back of the class, subtly taking a seat near his fellow Slytherin.
The Professor was staring right at him, the dragon in his arms gawking at him. Some students were also watching him, some even glaring. Jerred simply crossed his arms and smiled.
"Please continue this useless banter, Professor," Jerred said, motioning with his hand like a nobleman waves away his made. Jerred's smirk was full of confidence as some of the other pupils stared him down. He noticed a Gryffindor staring at him. "Hey, you! I know you love me and everything, but face the front mudblood!"

She could deal with storming in late, she could deal with drawing attention to himself, she could even bear him trying to control the class, but when this slytherin boy used the term 'mud-blood' that was it. "Forgive me professor." she said looking at Addis. She then whipped around and aimed her wand at the slytherins mouth, "Rodentica Exdamentia!" she stated loudly and clearly while feeling her little white mouse friend from the lake flowing through her. She giggled as a white rat tail appeared, dangling out of the slytherins mouth. She then faced forward, pocketing her wand as if nothing had happened.

Feeling his blood qicken it's beating, he pulled the rat out of his mouth and pulled his wand. He smiled and looked at the Professor. "Banishka!" Jerred said as the rat disappeared. He stood and soon aimed his wand at the Ravenclaw girl.
"Lycanthropic Exdamentia!" He shouted at the girl.

Her gaze didn't leave the professor, she did not even flinch when the boy said his spell. She had done her damage, she would do no more, and attempting such a spell, she thought, would be too much for the poor slytherin. She just sat there and waited to see what would happen next.

"Protego!" Leigh shouted quickly, holding the dragon in one arm. his spell immediately cast forth and surrounded Helia, protecting her from the newly formed werwolf. It growled and sneered at everything in the class. The Slytherin boy snickered. "Banishka!" Leigh shouted as the werewolf suddenly disappeared into a shower of red sparks.
"Do not use these spells in attack! Is that understood?" Leigh said, his voice rising to deafen the classroom. "Not even in pranks!" He stared down the Slytherin boy.

She looked down shamefully, "Sorry Professor Addis." she said, knowing she should not have put her mouse in the boys mouth.

"Why can't I use this spell to attack!? This is Defence against the Dark Arts, is it not?" Jerred said, boisterously. His cocky smile never left his face. "Pity that you mudbloods are pathetic spellcasters!"
