"Life can be created." Leigh said, flicking his wand in his own little way. "That cat I dismissed did not die, as it is part of my imagination. As long as you can imagine the animal, feel it inside of you it's alive. Then when you use my spell, that animal becomes alive. The stronger your will or belief in that animal inside of you, the more powerful it is when you summon it to our plain of existence."

She raised her hand again, a million questions swimming through her brain after this information was revealed to her.

Brain had a question, he raised his hand. "how long did it take you to master this spell?''

Kieron nodded along with Brians question, raising his hand as well, really wanting to ask a question as well since it was indeed the first lesson and he wanted to know as much as he could.

"Yes, Helia? Ask your question." Leigh said.

"So, you could even make up an imaginary creatue, but if you yourself believed in it enough, you could use this spell and it would be real?"

"Indeed. AS long as you believe in it enough the creature is alive. But the benefits of the creature is that the spell makes it able to never having to be fed, exercised or cleaned up after. Or in otherwords the perfect pet. They creature you make is absolutely loyal to you and you only, it obeys any commands you wish, to attack, to defend and play with." Leigh said. "Now, Kieron, is it? You may ask your question."

Kieron nodded softly, placing down his hand.
"Well, I know you said that if you create a creature with magic, it is alive. But it makes me curious though. Since it is indeed created by magic, instead of born naturally with a normal heart and soul, can it feel as much as a normal creature can? Even though a created creature is usually created with the makers deepest desires?"
He frowned lightly, his eyes slanted in their normal usual way as he finished with his question.

"Good question. In all my research I have concluded that the beasts have a heart, love to live and obey their creator. They have a beating heart, they feel and have emotions. you scare a cat it'll have the same reaction, it'll swipe at you and hiss." Leigh said, having to think about this question. "They are alive, I know they are. For they breathe, have a heartbeat and have emotions. They are happy, sad, angry. Anything a real born animal feels, they can feel."

She raised her hand again, "Is it more like, the animal you create, would react to a situation the same way you would since it's, in a way, bonded to you?"

Carrie had remained quiet for the most of the lesson, having the amazing knack of being about to sink into the background. She listened intently to the class talk, finding the subject fascinating.

Somewhere in the middle of the classroom, Deb waited to hear the professor's answer. She was enjoying the lesson; it had a more personal and interesting touch than DADA lessons she had had before. But god only knew how long it would be before she gained the nerve to ask or answer anything herself.

"Ah, I see. Alright then Professor." Kieron nodded, falling quiet as he waited for the professors responce to Helia's question, the subject keeping him somewhat interested indeed as he shifted his eyes towards the other students.

"The animal you make is real." Leigh said, his eye twitching a little. "They have the same instincts, feel pain, love etc. Anything a real cat feels, this cat feels," He aimed his wand onto his desk and chanted, "Felinic Exdamentia!" The same ginger tabby appeared on his cat. The cat suddenly meowed loudly and lay down, quickly falling asleep.
"See?" Leigh continued.

She nodded. This spell was so different from other spells, most spells followed strict guidelines; you say 'alohomora' and it unlocks a door, you say 'expelliarmus' and it expells an object, but this one, Exdamentia, literally had a mind of it's own.
She smiled at the tabby cat from earlier, 'What an amazing creature' she thought to herself.
