Keaira leaned back in her seat, trying to distance herself from Fin and Jerred as much as possible.
"Surely one of them will lose some house points for this," she whispered to Lisa. "Does Jerred like to show off or is he simply being conceited?"

Lisa smiled wearily at Keaira, shaking her head. "Expected from a couple of boys," she said, with a shrug.
"Plus, Jerred has a great hate for Malfoy... They both have too much pride I think," She added, whispering.

"That, and the fact that Jerred can't stand not going first," Fin said angrily, maybe a little too angrily, to Lisa.

Lisa turned to Fin, her face puzzled as to why he was so angry. Hoping she hadn't done anything to upset him, she uttered a soft, "That too."

"...Sorry," he said, sitting down. "I didn't' mean to yell," he apologized.

"Hm," Keaira conceded, looking around at Fin. "I take it you have dealt with Jerred in similar situations to this one before."

"No, it's just..." he seemed like he didn't want to talk about it. "I've had a lot of things on my mind, is all."

"Oh..." Keaira smiled gently. "All right. Let me know if you ever want to talk."
Sitting back in her chair, Keaira mulled over this information but did not press the issue. Maybe Malfoy would make a royal fool of himself and give them all something to laugh at.

Jerred, fuming, slapped Fin across the back of the head. He smiled sarcastically and looked back to the front of the class.

Keaira looked scandalized as Jerred slapped Fin's head. Normally she refused to stand up for others if she didn't know them well, but, she told herself, the Slytherin brat had been bothering her recently and the slap was really just a catalyst; an excuse, of course, to ream him.
"I find it fascinating that you are so wholly ineloquent that you think slapping someone is the best offense. You know," she said in a sarcastically pondering tone, "I think they have medications for things like that. Of course, no one's yet discovered a way to improve upon the personality of a complete prat, such as yourself, so perhaps we ought to simply lock you in the dungeons for a few days. I don't suppose anyone would miss you, and it would do the rest of us a world of good not to be subjected to your lesser intelligence."
Pauing to let her words filter through the room (and Jerred's thick skull, she amended to herself with a private smirk), Keaira turned back to the front of the room and bowed her head submissively, folding her hands neatly in her lap. "Professor," she said in a strict, polite tone, "I really am sorry for interrupting your lesson. I shall try my very best to make sure it does not happen again."

She turned to Keaira and said in a very calm and soft voice, "It might be wise for you to hold your tongue in situations which you know nothing about. If you would like me to explain the history between Jerred and Fin I have nothing but free time for you, but they are both very close friends of mine and I would appreciate it very much if you would not verbally abuse either one of them in such a public manner." she smiled softly, maintaing her subtle attitude about the subject, then returned her attention to Kandler and the Professor.

Keaira looked at the back of Helia's head measuringly.
"I was not attempting to interfere with your friendship or involve you in my relationship with either Jerred or Fin," she said coolly. "I have little interest in your history with them or their history with one another, and if you wish you may assure Fin that I was not trying to defend him."

"I was merely standing up for my friends. I'm sure you would do the same had someone openly slandered someone close to you." she stated, her gaze unmoving from the front of the room.

"If you would simply have the courtesy to refrain from blatantly stating that I am involving myself in situations I do not understand, I would greatly appreciate it."

"You want to be involved, Keaira? Fine, I'll involve you right now. You are a stuck up primadona who has no idea of the whole situation outside of your own little world. You seem to think that you hold yourself at a higher standard than any other. I'm actually surprised that you got into Gryffindor with that sort of attitude towards those... that aren't as... noble as the way you speak. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't know you, but the way you interjected yourself into my problems just proves that you have no manners and no concern for the true story. You are a person who only goes on what you see, not caring to delve into the world of others as it may upset the 'careful' balance of your own little world." Jerred ranted, he took a deep breath and continued. "No one wants to be a friend to you if you have an attitude like that, I sure don't, neither does Helia. Now given what I've told you about how people, like me, see you I suggest you stay out of others business when it does not concern a stuck up bitch."
