She waited until the rock was far enough away that she could cast the spell, but close enough that it wouldn't deplete her energey and then said, "Protego!" she sheild formed around her and the rock bounced off it, falling to the floor.

Keaira frowned as she rocked back on her heels, sitting at her desk and taking notes. She hadn't yet gotten to cast the shield charm; she would have to practice on her own, then.

Lisa watched as Helia's shield protected her from the stone before wringing her hands together nervously. She didn't think she did all that well and bit her lip, watching Kandler move to the front.
