"Kandler! MOVE!" Josh yelled at his little brother. Kandler gave a slight groan and managed to get up after the beating from the dragon. He staggered a few yards before he hit the ground. The dragon roared angrily as spells were being sent up at it. As Josh looked back to see if Kandler was alright the dragon took advantage by swinging its tail at him knocking him back into a large boulder. Josh groaned and was knocked nearly unconscious. The dragon sent flames at him catching only his pants alight as Josh dove to avoid the flames. Josh put his leg out in seconds and let out a yell at the continous beatings the dragon was giving him. Josh was showing no mercy either. After nearly half an hour of fighting the dragon let out a cry and fell back dead.
Kandler slowly stood. His left leg broken his head still bleeding badly. His eyes swollen shut. He looked around to see his brother feet away from the dragon only to be lying flat on his back. Kandler ran, well hobbled towards his brother. He hit the ground next to him and watched his brother breathing heavily. Blood seemed to never stop coming. "Josh. Come on! We need to go." Josh tried to sit up but couldn't summon the strength. "I'm sorry Kandler." He whispered. Kandler shook his head. "No don't be!" Josh gave a slight smile. "Just make sure mom and dad know that it was my fault." Kandler shook his head. "It wasn't...and you'll be able to tell them." Josh just smiled still before his eyes went distant and faded.
Kandler shot up from his bed in a cold sweat. His breathing was irregular. It was always like this at night. He had never been able to give up the fact that it was his fault his elder brother died. Kandler wiped the sweat away as he settled down a bit. He wouldn't sleep. He couldn't see the nightmare again. He didn't want to. He pulled the blanket back and walked from the dorm room pulling on his bath robe. He would just wait for dawn and then dress for breakfast. Kandler walked down the stairs quietly before he took a seat on one of the couches watching the dying fire.

Kieron sighed in frustration, knowing he should be asleep. It was late, yet he was writing a letter to his parents in his bed which would probably not get finished anytime soon. You'd think to yourself; 'Well, writing a letter to /my/ parents would be easy! Just tell them i'd love them and i'd see them soon! Oh! and tell them about my fantastic grades of course!'. But it wasn't like that. Sure, Kieron always told them about his grades. But the love part, well..that was a little hard to do. Somewhere inside of him, he loved them dearly. But already, they expected too much of him and were already trying to plan a future for him that he didn't want for himself. They were always telling him; You're going to be a great wizard someday! You'll get a wizarding job and make us proud! If you don't, well..
They would always pause at that point. And it'd make him feel like he didn't meet their standards, like he wasn't a good son. Thats why he had such a hard time writing letters to them. They would never listen. They only thought about what they wanted for him, not what he wanted for himself. His opinions just didn't matter. He wasn't going to be the wizard they wanted him to be.
Sighing, he placed the letter on his nearby nightstand and climbed out of bed, noticing another student leaving the dorm and looking stressed. Curious, he pulled on his robe as well, making his way to where the fireplace was and taking a seat, noticing the other boy looking grave. Another gryffindor girl was there too, but he hadn't met her yet either. "Err, good evening." He greeted, rubbing his head and looking towards the other two. "I'm Kieron. Are you alright? You look pretty terrified." He asked the other boy, which looked like a seventh year.

"Hi I'm Hermione and I'm in 5th year what year are you?" said Hermione curiously. She loved to meet new students especially the boy students.

Kieron blinked, suddenly hearing the girl speak to him. Turning his head to look at her, he offered a light polite smile. "Pleasure to meet you Hermione. I am a sixth year student, to answer your question." Nodding, he looked back towards the fire, then back at her. 'Hn. Maybe I should go grab that letter to work on. I'm awake, anyways.' The wizard thought in his head, but then decided not to. That letter could wait for a /long/ time, without him even giving a care. His parents could wait as well. Maybe they would get some sense into their minds while they waited, and would actually worry about him for once.

"You looked distracted Kieron is anything wrong?" said Hermione calmly. She could always tell when something was wrong with boys they were easier to figure out than the females

"Oh? it's nothing really." Kieron shook his head calmly, offering a light chuckle to the girl. "Just thinking about what to write in a letter to my parents, thats all. Nothing to be worried about." Shaking his head, his little hoop earrings jingled and he winced. He made a mental note to take those out before going back to bed later. They were such a pain to find if they fell out of his ears while he was sleeping, as he had done many times before.

Kieron chuckled and nodded. "Yes, i've been in Hogwarts since first year. My parents made sure of that of course." Rolling his eyes, he offered a shrug. "They always expect me to be a great wizard, but I think they expect too much of me at times, to tell the truth. Oh well. Parents will be parents." Forming a couple of cups of hot cocoa with a few flicks of his wand, he took one for himself and offered the other two to Kandler and Hermione. He figured that since it was so late, they might as well have some sort of refreshment.

"It's no problem, really." Kieron replied, taking a sip of his own hot cocoa. It /was/ freezing actually, because of the dying fire in front of them. The wizard wasn't that great in the cold, but he could manage. Plus, the hot liquid kept him quite warm, so he had nothing to worry about. Thank merlin his magic could create a good cup of cocoa. "Hmm. So, what's your favorite subject here at Hogwarts? I've taken quite an interest in diviation lately." He asked, taking another sip of cocoa, looking into it with a slightly curious look. The drink needed marshmellows, he decided. So with a flick of the wand, a bag of marshmellows appeared for the students. He also hoped as well that the hot cocoa would help out Kandler a little bit.

Kieron chuckled. "Well, it is a good thing to learn as much as you can." The wizard nodded, taking another sip of cocoa. "I love a good book or two as well and learning something new once in awhile." Taking a few marshmellows and placing them in his cup, he watched in curiousity as they melted somewhat into the hot liquid. Ugh, that was a bad trait of his. Curiousity. It could be a bad or good thing he supposed.

Kandler just nodded to the two and when offerered hot chocolate he took a cup. "Thanks. I'm Kandler." he added and then just listened to the two speak as a picture from the nightmare popped in every so often

Hermione got up and sat next to Kandler. "Are you sure you're ok Kandler? It looks like something is on your mind." said Hermione calmly and putting her hand on his shoulder.
