Professor Morley wandered around the classroom, setting handfuls of odd trinkets on each desk; buttons, pin cushions, door stops, all sorts of things. Since it was the last class of the semester she wanted to give the students something fun to do. Case in point, switching spells.
When she was done littering the desks she moved to the front of the room and pulled out her wand, writing in the air:
Switching Spells What are they? What do they do? How do you use them?
She then moved back around to sit behind her desk and waited for her students to arrive, reading the newest Witch Weekly while she waited on them.

Zachary was in an oddly good mood that morning as he strode into the strange, yet now familiar, furnishings of the Transfigruation classroom. Sitting at his usual desk, brushing his thumb over the recognized grooves, he looked over toward the Professor. Grimacing at her choice of reading material, his eyes quickly reached the note on the board and he pulled out his quill.
Just as he was about to pick up his textbook, his eyes caught the names scrawled onto his desk, and he smirked looking around briefly-- though nearly positive the Professor would have no qualms about his vandalization. Pressing the tip of his quill into the wood, he left his mark. It seemed like a good idea, seeing as how it was the last class of the semester.
Finishing with an extravagant "y", he leaned back in his seat and waited for another student to arrive..[/color]

"Glad to see you back Zach," said the Professor cheerily as she stashed her magazine in a vacant drawer. "So, are you looking forward to your summer holiday?" she asked, deciding to ignore his obvious disdain at her decision for the final class of this term.
She watched as he added his name to those of famous mischief makers on the ancient writing desk, "You know I plan to sell that someday when I'm old and out of work and money... Make sure that if you ever do anything that will het you into trouble, it's something big. Not only for your memories, but for my cashbook. I'd hate to have to hunt you down for lowering the value of my investment," she said in an airy way as she waited for the other students to arrive, still rather surprised that it was the vandal-Slytherins who were showing up early for her class.

Zachary scowled at the professor, sticking his chin in the air haughtily. "I'll be the most famous wizard to write their name on this pile of wood," he said arrogantly, finally pulling out a fresh piece of parchment.
"As for my holiday," he nodded eagerly. "Of course I would be. The house-elves here are hardly as disciplined as the ones back home. And, they know how to make a decent meal."
Writing down a sentence on switching spells calmly, he suddenly frowned. Then, with wide-eyes, he looked toward his quill before dropping it as though he were burned. The quick quotes quill rolled off the table and Zachary stared in horror at the desk he had so proudly written his name on.
