Miranda smiled at them all turned to face Brandon with a surprised grin on her face.
"I'm sure I'm just as good as you." She leaned on her broom and looked to the sky and breathed in the fresh air deeply.

Jac smirked at the new comer. "Ha," she exclaimed at his comment, "I'm hoping to actually be beater. Al and I are always beaters when we have family reunions and stuff. She actually is a beater professionally." She looked around, she didn't know if any of them would actually know about her sister. "So, yeah, girls can do it just as well as boys."

Jac was so excited so dropped her broom. She quickly bent down, picked it up and jumped up. "Whoops!" she smiled around and her hair shot a shocking bubblegum blue, with her cheeks flushing full of freckles. "Let's get going then!" Her hair drained into a gingery-orange colour.

Liam was more nervous than excited as he ambled through the Quidditch Pitch. He smoothed down his robes and took a deep breath, putting on his best confident smile. Not sure how he was supposed to adress himself and noting that the crowd was mostly girls with a raised eyebrow, he cleared his throat. "Er- Hello. Um, I'm Liam. Could I maybe, er- Try out for, uhm." He flushed. "Chaser."

"Sure thing!" Darin called out excitedly to Liam. "We were just about to have the chaser trials."
He leaned down to open the chest which held all the balls, pulling out a quaffle, and quickly shutting it behind him. "Now, because I have to observe... is there anyone who is not trying out for chaser, who could be a decent keeper during the trial?"

Carrie couldn't help but smile at the way Novella.. well, Darin explained the situation as if it was an everyday thing, but then again she realised it was an everyday thing for them. She had decided to just accept the situation, mainly because she was in Hogwarts and anything could happen, but also as every other person seemed completely unfazed by the introduction of Darin.
The only thing bothering her now was How the hell did I not hear about this? Carrie wasn't a gossiper, but news about someone gaining the power to almost swap minds would be something she couldn't help but hear about. The Gryffindor decided to not dwell on it anymore, as it was time to begin concentrating on Quidditch.
Darin asked for a non-chaser to temporarily be the keeper, and Carrie glanced around at the other Gryffindors - surely they all didn't want to be a chaser too.

No one leapt at the opportunity to be keeper for a bit. "Come on guys!" she said, "no one?" She gaped disbelievingly at everyone, her hair changed from it's natural black to dark navy blue.
Jac leaned on her broom and cocked her head. "Oh, you guys suck!" Her eyes were dark brown and turning hazel. "I'll give it a bash, Darin, Novella ... whatever, I'm not much good but if it'll help, I'll be happy to! What do you want me to do?"

Liam stared at the girls with a raised eyebrow, before grinning lopsidedly. "Well, I suppose I could give it ago, I've never played keeper before, it could be exciting."
Though, he hadn't practiced /many/ positions to tell the truth, and if Jac was an aspiring young chaser, the post would be better in her hands.

((Well, we have two official members of the team and our captain seems to have disappeared! So no, we're not set up))
Jac smiled at Liam as he volunteered, "O, you should definitely take it! I'm useless. Beating, that's what I'm best at! You have a go mate!" Jac lightly tapped the boy's arm with the side of her fist. She was glad she didn't have to play keeper anymore because she really was terrible at it and she knew it.
