Darin strolled out onto the quidditch pitch.
He was, of course, in Novella's body. Otherwise, he would have been walking much slower, and the slightly used Starbright 70 in his hand would have been much harder to carry.
He had begged Novella for ages to sign up for Quidditch Captain, even though he didn't think it was possible that she'd get it. After all, she hadn't even played last year, and had only even learned to fly at the end of it. Still, she had gotten it, and since she had no interest in Quidditch... Darin was going to do it.
He loved Quidditch. He had even loved it back when he was just a normal ferret, before that strange Dark Figure in the forest had given him his intelligence. He had sat on Novella's shoulder, gazing up at the far away figures zooming about in the sky.
And now he was going to get a chance to play it. Darin couldn't possibly be more excited, or more proud.
He made it to the center of the pitch, stopping and looking up with a smile. Loiosh was a glowing copper mark in the sky, flying above him, Novella back in the common room in his own body. There was a pang of worry and pain, thinking about her, but he pushed the thought aside. He worried about her all the time. This was his day.
He stroked the handle of his broom, which he had convinced Novella to convince her parents to buy second-hand in Diagon Alley, and waited for other Gryffindors to show up. He hoped he wouldn't be too difficult for them to understand...

Carrie walked onto the Quidditch Pitch, her hair tightly tied back and her broom firmly clutched in one hand, ready for a good bit of flying. She was feeling that strange sort of mixture of nervousness and excitement as she paced closer to the new Quidditch Captain, who she never realised was one for Quidditch. She didn't really know Novella, only speaking to her on a few occasions but Carrie sensed that she was the kind of person that liked to keep herself to herself. When she was just metres away she greeted the other Gryffindor with a smile. 'Hey there.'

Darin smiled broadly, transfering the broom to his left hand, and holding his right out for the girl to shake. He vaguely remembered her, Novella had met her before, but that had been before he was smart. "Carrie, right? I'm Darin, nice to meet you."

Carrie was just about to outstretch her own hand when she stopped mid action - all her nervousness being replaced by somewhat confusion. Did she just say Darin? The first thought that came into her head was that it must be a nickname, but facing Novella now she immediately guessed she wasn't the sort of person. Realising that she had been standing there silent for a few too many moments, she shook the Gryffindor's hand and bit her lip slightly. 'Um.. sorry, but did you just say.. Darin?' She must have heard wrong.. yeah, that must be it.

Darin pulled his hand back, scratching the back of his neck uneasily. "Er, yes... Novella's ferret, you remember?"

So I did hear right...
Yes, Carrie did remember the Darin the ferret, but since when did people introduce themselves as their animal companions and speak of themselves in third person? She was missing something here.
'I do.. but still - what??' She hoped that in her confusion she didn't sound rude, afterall she had still arrived there for a chaser postion.

Darin laughed slightly at her confusion. "You haven't heard then?" he asked. He shook his head. "It's a bit confusing, really, but the short version is... Me, Novella, and Loiosh -- that's our dragon -- we can travel between our three bodies easily. Novella... well, she hasn't been feeling well lately..." he trailed off. "And, well, she isn't much for quidditch, anyway, but I think it's brilliant!"

Lisa walked out onto the pitch determinedly, though incredibly nervous. She had made the Gryffindor team last term most-likely due to a lack of house members, but she was set on doing it properly this time. With her Cleansweep 11 gripped tightly in her hand, she walked over to the two talking figures after taking a deep breath.
She had noticed Novella had made Quidditch captain. She wasn't sure what to make of this, hearing the rumors fly around the castle and seeing Thom's wound, but she had also felt a sort of attachment to the girl. She had been there on one of the most significant days of her life....
Deciding hostility wasn't the answer, and the fact that she hadn't seen Novella in ages, she gave the girl a shy smile. "Hey..."

Darin turned to the new girl, suddenly understanding her disease. He smiled at her kindly. "Hey, Lisa. I'm Darin. Novella isn't really here right now, but I'm sure she'd be happy to see you..."

Jac strode proudly onto the pitch and marched towards a group of Gryffindors. She had her Firebolt slung onto her shoulder and a smug smile on her face. Oh how she enjoyed taunting first years.
"Hi all," she said as she got closer, "got a bit held up. Didn't miss anything I hope?"

Miranda skipped happily along toward the pitch and even onto it dragging her broom behind her. This yeah she was determined to get onto the team and simply have some fun playing. She saw four other students also onto he pitch and waved at them as she got closer. "Hello all!" she shouted. "A lovely day for some Quidditch!"

Darin turned to the new girls, smiling, hoping to leave the sad thoughts behind. It was time for quidditch, after all.
"Well, it looks like we'll be a bit of an all girls team then, doesn't it?" He asked brightly.

Jac giggled. "We can show all those nasty boys that girls can do the job just as well, if not better, then they can!" Jac looked around at the group. "I'm Jac, by the way, for those of you who don't know!" She sent a smile around and curtsied, pretending to hold a skirt out.

Lisa would have been more surprised by Darin's declaration, if she hadn't already had a lesson with a dragon for a classmate. Nodding, bemused, she also turned toward the new girls.
"I'm Lisa," She said with a simple shrug, gripping her broom more tightly. She was extremely happy with the turn out, as last year she hadn't even had a chance to play, with only herself as the chaser. She watched Jac's display before nodding in agreement. "I definitely want to pummel Slytherin this year," she said, grinning.

(( For the double characters, don't the rules say only one position per roleplayer? ))
Brandon caught the curtsying Gryffindors remark and smirked, a broom held firmly in his hand. It was a Comet Two Sixty, an older edition though still worked superbly. Walking toward the small group of girls he raised an eyebrow, "Can you girls even lift the Beater's bats?" He said teasingly.
