Grace circled down in front of the right hoop and looked back to Girty. She tossed the quaffle. Grace set her broom towards it. She reached out with one hand to at least stop the quaffle. It hit the tips of her fingers and went off course. It flew to the right and hit the edge of the hoop. Grace quickly performed her starfish maneuver and grabbed the quaffle.
Grace swung herself back up straight and tossed the quaffle towards the opposite end of the pitch in on circular motion. She gripped her broom and smiled, relieved.

Girty smiled and gave Grace a small round of applause. That was very impressive. Girty then turned on the broom and chased after the quaffle. As she reached it she let out a sigh and turned around an hovered wondering if anyone else would like a go

Boggleworth was finding it difficult to get back into the rhythm of flying, not that he had been any good to start with. His broom didn't really help either, but he wouldn't exchange it for anything. Now he spied his chance he launched himself headlong into a dive and deflected Girty's shot, not quite managing to grab the quaffle himself. "Nearly Girt!" he chortled, "better luck when I'm not around," He began to pursue the quaffle once more...

Girty reminded still after Bog took the quaffle. After a few blinks it dawned on her what had happened so flew off after the quaffle. As caught but with Bog easily on his old broom and flew side by side with him. "What a fine day for a bit of Quidditch. But I hope your hungry. As you about to eat my dust." She smiled at him then kicked her broom as it shot a head of him.

Bailey looked at her watch and realised that she should have been at quidditch practice already. 'typical' she thought, 'first practice and i'm late'. Bailey grabbed her broom and ran to the quidditch pitch. Looking up she noticed that there were already people high in the sky. Bailey walked into the stadium and waited until the others came close enough to the ground to notice.

Girty chased after the quaffle and drop after it. As she got closer to the ground see saw something. Shaking it off she continued after the quaffle. As she took hold of it she noticed the thing on the ground again. She flew farther down and noticed it was Bailey. "Come on up!" She shouted signaling to the others.

Bailey jumped onto her broom and kicked off from the ground. A sudden rush of wind through her long red hair, an immense feeling of joy to be back in the air once more. Due to Muggles moving close to her countryside home, she had not had chance to fly for quite a while.
Bailey steadily climbed until she reached the height that the others were. "Sorry i'm late! Not a good start i spose..." Bailey stated apologetically.

Girty laughed at Bailey and tossed the quaffle in the air before catching it again. Girty then spun round on her broom and flew off in the other direction. "BAILEY GO LONG!" Girty yelled at the top of her lungs before throwing the quaffle purposely over the head of the other Hufflepuff. She then sat back and watched to see how Bailey would react.

Bailey was quite suprised by the sudden release of the quaffle. Turning quickly she watched the quaffle as it flew overhead, sped along until she reached the point where the quaffle would reach her line of sight , she then did a little flip and caught the quaffle. Bailey smiled and then bowed jokily. Bailey threw the quaffle back to Girty said "So what have we got for todays practice?!"

Post by Thom Moen on Oct 1, 2006 13:03:27 GMT
Thom had been zooming around in his own part of the pitch for a while now, half tracing the snitch's path, half watching the rest of his team dart about together. He had not realised being a seeker would be so lonely. He would only get in the way if he tried to fly amongst them, and he had already caught the snitch without much effort (or opposition) a fair few times, and was now becoming irritated and distracted, randomly kicking the flags on stands as he flew past, firing spells at the snitch to see if he could annoy it enough to fly faster.
He then saw another Hufflepuff run onto the pitch. Thom had seen Bailey a fair few times in the common room, but he had not talked to her as of yet. By the looks of it Girty knew her, and so Thom abandoned the snitch and soared about a hundred feet into the air before tilting his broom and diving down towards them...

Grace saw a decline in the practice. Thom had caught the snitch a long time ago and now it was a back and forth game of tag with the quaffle. Thinking quick, she sent a yellow spark into the sky to get everyone's attention. "Okay, let's take a quick break," she called once all eyes were on her, "Thom, grab the snitch, Dax, Alicia, you've got a bludger each to catch, and Bog, Girt, Bailey, you can toss the quaffle around a little more if you'd like." She smiled at everyone then flew to the stands and lay down on a bench.

Thom released the snitch once more, but did not attempt to pursue it straight away. It would probably be a little more productive to let the golden ball go out of sight for a while so as to make it a little more realistic.
He watched it for a moment, zooming from side to side as it pondered over which direction to make its escape, then suddenly spiraling upward and out of sight into the sun. Lying down lazily on the handle of his broomstick, Thom drifted over to Grace and settle down onto the bench next to her. 'Yeah, I need a break,' he lied. 'Hard work being a seeker and all...'

Grace smiled almost gratefully at Thom. She sighed then said, "yeah! I'm sorry this isn't more exciting for you!" She looked up and down the pitch and then back to Thom. "I guess, you could, after releasing the snitch, fly up and down the pitch a few times then go looking for it. It'll get you more in touch with your broom and it'll make the 'hunt' more interesting."
