"You stay there now..."
The manticore stared up at him, although he wasn't quite sure whether he was facing its front or behind. Grimacing, he pulled it's leash and dragged it across the forest floor, his eyes wide and fearful as a slow hiss erupted from between the trees.
After a moment of silence, where Liam shook nervously, peering behind the branches of shadowed trees, he continued on his way, hoping to keep the manticore deep within the forest and away from him.
"You'll like it in here, really... Might find something you'd like to eat." His face turning a bit green at the gurgling noises that the manticore continued to let out, Liam shuddered and continued walking with an aim.

The old potions books his father had sent him required the strangest of ingredients, but too curious to let the opportunity pass him by, Zachary had snuck into the forbidden forest in search for the toe of a Clabbert. Not even the blood or hairs, but the toe of all things.
Screwing his face up in disgust, he crouched low and tried to ignore the eerie noises surrounding him. They all seemed to pass sooner or later, though a noisy trudge caught his attention and failed to stop. Instead, it grew louder and Zachary stood up abruptly, staring in fear at the shivering branches where he was almost certain a centaur would bolt out of.
Instead, a foul-looking thing hissed and advanced on him, and after his initial shock, Zachary's gaze cleared enough for him to notice the leash and a slightly familiar Gryffindor pulling it along.
Making a face, the Slytherin turned to Liam. "What on earth is that?" and then, as an after thought...
"It wouldn't happen to be a Clabbert, would it?"

A huddled figure seemed to pop out of thin air and Liam reered back in surprise as it did the same. Then, realising it was the Slytherin Daniels, he glared and allowed more slack on the manticores leash. It wouldn't hurt to use the vile thing to shake up the SLytherin's nerves a little.
"Clabb- what?" He said then looking at the manticore with a pinched nose. "No, of course not. Anyone above third year should be able to recognize a manticore." Although, that wasn't totally true. Most never came into contact with one, and unfortunately for Liam, his mind had decided it'd be fantastic to care for one in his dorm room.
Luckily for him, his room-mates never discovered the ugly thing leaving trails of slime on their socks.

Zachary regarded the Manticore with a sour expression, before turning a bit red at his ears. "If you haven't noticed, it's a bit dark." Brushing his dirty hands on his robes, he backed away a bit from the creature. "Excuse me if I can't correctly identify a certain species in such poor lighting."
Though, his self-set assignment called out to him, and he looked around half-heartedly for anything that resembled the vague description the book had given him of a Clabbert. "Red flashing..." He muttered, before looking at Liam briefly. A loud noise distracted his searchings and he stumbled back as a screeching bat flew just in front of his face, nearly batting his eye out.
He quickly scrambled to pull himself off the floor, finding his fingers slide in something silky and wet. After a long pause where he stared at it, he jumped up and let out a long moan of disgust. Trying to wipe it on the nearest branch, he found it wouldn't come off.
"This is all your fault, you know." He said with a scowl toward the Gryffindor.

With a glare, Liam watched Zachary. "You shouldn't be in the forest if you can't handle a simple bat," he said knowingly. He had been scared out of his wits, but it was best to keep that information strictly to himself.
He suddenly felt a tug at the leash and the manticore was running toward the Slytherin, oddly enough. It never ran, usually just slugged around the dormitory. Even more surprising, it latched onto Zachary's fingers with jaws Liam hadn't known existed and with a nasty slurp, swallowed a large dallop of slime.
"Eugh! Gross!" He cried, moving backwards and dropping the leash in disgusted surprise.
