[Lake] Late night stroll

After the brief encounter in the Three Broomsticks earlier that day Dax waited patiently for Jac to arrive. Although they had agreed to met up by the lake he sat in the middle of the gravel path which lead the way there.
As he looked up to the sky the clouds were slowly creeping across the half moon and the odd star could be seen.
He could feel the chill of the wind coming through his robes sending a shiver down his spin. He tried to ignore the cold and wonder what could be keeping Jac. Glancing over his shoulder toward the lake he tried to see if there were any figures around the water before hearing footsteps coming along the gravel path.

The footsteps were quick for Jac was hectically late and she hated being late. She was running at this point to a silhouette sitting on the gravel path. She knew it was Dax. She hurried a little more and ran straight over him, tucked herself into a ball and rolled a few feet away onto lovely green grass. She lay flat on her back, half laughing, half-crying from hysteria. She lay there for a moment then jumped up.

She wobbled over to where Dax was, the world was spinning. "Hi," she said, trying to focus on his face, "I told you I'd be late! NO!" She held her head and flopped down, "I meant to say, I'm sorry I'm late! There! That's right!"

As Dax watched Jac stumble towards him he started to laugh however he was very confused. As she fell on the floor by him he look closely at her before talking.

“You have not been on the fire whisky have you Jac?” He laughed folding his arms trying to look serious. “As if you have then I would be very disgusted with you.”

With that statement Dax stood up and started shaking his legs trying to get warmth back onto them. He then walked up to Jac and held out his hand.
“My lady my I aid you?”

Jac smiled and took his hand, "thanks!" She pulled and was soon standing. She put out her hands and bent her legs, trying to steady herself. As soon as the world was still she stood up straight, dusted herself off and brushed her red hair out of her face. She smiled and said, "hi! And no, I haven't been drinking. The tumble just went straight to my head!"

As Dax watched her brush herself down when he noticed her red hair fall over her solder. He started to smile thinking about the conversation they had had early that day when it dawned on him that Jac was talking again.

He started to nod and smile making sure it seemed like he had been listening and laughed when he thought best. Once she stopped talking Dax looked at her knowing he would need to say something.

"My head gets dizzy when I run too fast."

After closing his mouth he knew he had just said one of the stupid things in the world and wanted to try and avoid any further mention on the topic.
“Shall we walk?”

Before Jac could answer he had linked arms with her and was dragging her with him as he walked towards the lake.

Jac cocked her head slightly and was just about to comment on the random when he suddenly dragged her towards the lake. "Um..." she began, previous statements forgotten, so she wakled a little easierly and added, "alright!" It was a beautiful night. The moon was out and stars were winkling above there heads. There were a few clouds but they were whiffs more then actual clouds. Jac smiled and flicked her hair behind her shoulders.

As Dax lead ac down towards the lake he could not help but smile. Very occasional the wind would take control of Jac’s hair and it would hit him in the side of the face but a part of him did not care.
As he looked up towards the sky he took a deep breath in and patted Jac’s hand.

“The night is so beautiful, the stars are so clear. I could watch them for ever.”
He sighed and looked over at Jac with yet another huge grin on his face.

Jac smiled at Dax. He looked like he was on the moon and it made her smile. She looked up at the sky once again and nodded, "uhum! It's beautiful!" She took her free hand and ran her fingers along her neck, scooping her hair up as she went. All her hair now rested on her on shoulder, out of Dax's face. Jac looked at him again, smiling slightly, then quickly looked at the sky again.

As they continued to walk Dax's stopped looking at the sky and looked to where his feet were going.
"So Jac.....I hear that you will be representing Gryffindor in the Quadwizard Tournament.”
He looked over at her with a small grin.

“Do you really think you will be able to beat Girty….but saying that she is well… accident prone.” With a small chuckle Dax kicked a stone that was lying in front of him and watched it role along the grass and disappear into the darkness.
