Walking outside from the Owlery, Mozess immedeatly took a deep greath of fresh, untainted, non-bird-smelling air. She stood on her tiptoes, then did a half turn and fell onto her back on the grass, gazing upside down at the glimmering lake. She reached into her pocket and looked atthe letter she had been intending to send to her brother, then rolled her grey eyes and stuffed it back in her pocket, 'So, allergic to barn owls eh?' she asked Jac pleasantly.

Jac sniffed loudly and nodded, "yeah! Get it from me mum!" She took out a tissue from on of her pockets and blew her nose. "Not used to spending any time around them but that -" she pointed with her thumb towards the Owlery "-that was harsh!"

She nodded thoguhtfully, 'I can certainly pretend to imagine that,' she said trying to think of what that must've been like. 'Only thing I'm allergic to is marachino cherries and strawberries.' Unusual things to be allergic to, certainly. But seeing as there were very few marachino cherries in the castle, and the hosueelves were kind enough to make sure anything with strawberries in it were kept away from wherever she happened to be sitting, things didn't often bother her. 'Sometimes I get hives from working with aconite, but that's what dragon hide gloves were invented for,' she nodded.

"Boomslag!" Jac blurted out, "boomslag gives me a visious rash that sticks for weeks. It's really gross! But, you're right, the miracle of dragon hide gloves is amazing!" She giggled and shook her head, "I'm actually also allergic to a lot of things but I'm not going to go into all that! It's really boring!"
Jac sniffed again but then felt better and cleared from her congestion. She smiled at Mozess then looked out over the cool calm waters of the lake, it's mirror-smooth surface undisturbed by anything. The calmness was infectious; Jac felt at peace within herself. She crossed her arms and sighed with satisfaction. "Beautiful, isn't it?" she asked.

'Quite,' she said, nodding absently as the cool clear water took over her thoughts. She smiled, then smirked, then all at once ran and leapt into the lake, robes and all, creating quite a splash for her short stature. She looked around a bit beneath the glassy surface, then let gravity pull her up for air again. 'Kinda cold, but not as bad as I would've expected for fall,' she said as she began floating on her back in the crisp water, though very soon her school robes became water logged and she tossed them ashore with her shoes, swimming about in a lightweight green tank and a pair of black knit leggings. 'Nothing better for allergies than a sudden drop in temperature I always say,' in fact she didn't, but she thought it might get Jac to join her.

Jac didn't need convincing and she didn't need telling twice. As soon as Mozess was in the water Jac was taking off her shoes. As soon as they were off Jac was tying her hair up and diving into the water.
The coldness hit her like a hammer, Jac tried to gasp for air but got mouthfuls of water. She quickly resurfaced and spat out the water. Her lower lip was shivering and her hair was slowly turning an ice white. "Just peachy!" she said, smiling cheerily.
