((The main idea behind this thread is for Leigh to leave/die, no more DADA Professor. I just don't have the time to be two characters, so Jerred is the one I have chosen to keep. Whoever it is, just come on in, have fun and I'll reply when I can )) Sitting leaning against a tree, Leigh was enjoying the relative quiet of the water lapping against the stones near the beach. He had his arms folded across his chest, head resting slightly down, eyes closed and feet extended out, crossed over one another. His position was one of comfort for him, despite the stressful tension that ached his back, shoulders and neck. He was thinking deeply, his decision only adding further stress to him. He suddenly lurched forward, a reeling pain his shoulders causing him to wince in pain, making him breathe hard. The pain slowly faded, allowing him to rest back in peaceful respite for a little while. He opened his eyes, and looked about the area he was, a sudden feeling of wrongness washing over him. He felt slightly weirded out enough to stand, standing quickly and looking about. He heard the water lapping on the rocks, the wind brustling the leaves, the sound of his breath, the sound of his flapping robes. Something wasn't right. 'What is happening?' He said to himself, barely above a whisper as he felt the presence wash over him. He knew not what was happening, but he knew a conjuration spell when he felt the presence of one. 'Who's there?' He said a little more loudly, his tone authoritive.

(( And who better to see you're end than Gabriel? ))
Vandesar stood barely a few feet away, an invisibility cloak pulled tightly around himself, the material flapping in the wind but barely making a sound. The Unspeakable had watched his old, misguided friend for days, his mind slowly working over the past and all that he had learned of Leigh since he had vanished from the ministry's clutches...
The educator was a wreck. Vandesar contemplated him, finding him almost pittiful. He knew his core was solid and strong... only his exterior seemed to be fading. He frowned gently as Leigh convulsped with pain.
Letting the cloak fall gently around his feet, Vandesar revealed himself to Leigh. 'What is wrong, old friend?'

((Yes, who better? Lol ;D ))
'You!' Leigh said, on the verge of growling, his eyes narrowing as he turned to face Vandesar. Leigh began to tremble, his hands forming fists, shaking violently. Leigh felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, the feeling of a conjuration spell still running rampant around him.
A sudden fierce pain erupted in his head, forcing him to flinch with pain, a slight gurgle of pain coming from his mouth. He opened an eye, hand resting on his head as he looked at Vandesar.
'Are you the one creating... this mess?' Leigh said, the stressful pains beginning to tingle again in his neck and shoulders. 'If you are... please... stop it...' Leigh fell to his knees, arms falling and hanging loosely at his sides, on the verge of falling unconscious.

He sighed gently as Leigh gripped his chest in contained agony, his eyes narrowing at Vandesar, unblinking in their accusation. When the minister had told him what he must do, he had smiled with anticipation... but suddenly the feeling of reward was changing. He had waited a very long time to meet Leigh again, to finish him off in a display of strength... but now that he was here, standing over him, he found he did not feel the level satisfaction he had imagined.
It was better.
'We all have to follow orders, Leigh,' he said solemnly, his eyes full of mockery. Vandesar produced his wand from under his robes, the tip throbbing with red light. He flicked it gently, sending Leigh into another fit of pain and torturous spasms.
'This isn't personal, Leigh, no matter what you think, or what I would like. The Minister of Enlightenment is a very fickle woman - its not my place to deny her her wish...' he raised his wand, pointing it directly at Leigh's chest. 'Any last words...?'

Staring into space, Leigh heard the words Vandesar spoke. 'Tell your Minister to go to hell... and you can follow her like the pathetic follower you are...' Leigh hung his head, waiting for the end to come. What would it be like? Would it hurt? The questions ran through his mind before Vandesar ended his life.

((Just remembered about this guy, lol, Thought it'd be cool to bring him in to see the death of the man he's been trying to kill ;D )) Rising from the shadows, Morziak smiled sweetly as he reached forth and gripped the wrist of the man who was about to kill the other. A simple look on his face showed his excitement at the death of his troublesome enemy. 'I want to see him in agony just for a while longer, then you can have your way with him.' Morziak said, looking down at the painfilled Professor. His deception spell had worked, driving the Professor into a frenzy, revealing how weak and pathetically human he had become. Looking back at the man with the protruding wand, Morziak introduced himself, 'I am Morziak, an old acquaintance of this man. I would very much like him killed, no matter the personal cost to one such as yourself.' A contempt smile spread across his lips as he looked down at the dying professor once more.

(( I know, Morziak is so cool - I thought you'd abandoned him! ;D ))
For a moment Vandesar faltered, the cold hand of a stranger wrapping around his free wrist gently, delicate but almost over powering. He looked sideways at the eerie man, pale and ghostly in Vandesar's eyes. The sun did not seem to touch him. 'And, who, may I ask, are you?' he asked, his tone a little defensive although curious.
Leigh let forth another soft moan. Vandesar looked at him, a new, snide little smile on his face. 'I see I am not the only enemy you made, Leigh. How predictable.' he stepped back now, pretending to forget the stranger - offering to turn a blind eye to whatever he wished to do to Leigh. There was, of course, no consequence to Leigh's death. It had all been arranged. Vandesar would be rewarded.
What did it matter if he suffered a little first...?

Straining to focus through the pain rivoting throughout his body, Leigh opened one eye, the unfocused vision he saw made him see a cloud of darkness near Vandesar. A feeling of recognition floated through him as if he knew the power that was from the darkness, then a shape slowly appeared, the face of the Dark Figure, a another enemy of Leigh's. With a moan, Leigh fell forward, hitting the ground, unconscious before landing.
((And this makes Prof Addis's last post. Soon I'll have to finish up the Class however... may do that right now.))

((Class finished, so now it's just Morziak and Jerred )) Morziak smiled simply, bending over after releasing the mans wrist. 'I am more than you could comprehend, wizard.' Morziak said, looking up at the man who he knew was named Vandesar. 'I can see into your mind through your eyes, I know exactly who you are and you would not kill this man for pleasure, only for business. This Minister of Enlightenment... Is she powerful?' Morziak said, looking down at the fallen man before him. 'Poor little Leigh, so passionate about what he does, stresses so easily...' Morziak muttered, laughing as he began to sing to himself. 'The end is nigh, my old friend, you shall feel the cold sting of death!' Morziak stood, opening his palm as darkness swelled around Leigh, swallowing him into the ground, a silent scream ringing in Morziaks mind as the darkness consumed Leigh greedily. 'Nothing like feeling death warm you through.' Morziak said, almost happy that the pest was dead. Without a thought, Morziak looked over his shoulder, his head inhumanly swinging further round. 'Your deed is done, he is dead, you will be rewarded... As for me, I can finally rest.' A wicked smile spread across his lips as he turned away, the darkness calling him. ((That was fun ))

Leigh had been unable to say anything, the Dark magic of the stranger slipping around his body, strangling him in darkness. It was always a gruesome sight - an unnatural death by an even more unnatural spell. Vandesar turned his head away, unable to watch as his feeble rival cried out without a sound, his arms grasping hopelessly for the sky.
The strangers laughed deeply. It sounded insane and out of control - what was this man?
The deed was done, only not by Vandesar. A wind had whipped up and died down, and the ground's terrifying portal had closed up to leave no trace of the horrendous curse that had created it...
'That was unwise, my friend...' Vandesar spoke softly, his eyes narrowed at the ground. 'You are not human. I hope you understand that the ministry will now know of your existence...?' Vandesar looked at the being, the same old formal coldness in his eyes. He knew that protocol would demand he detain the man this instant, but something stopped him... was it gratitude? That Vandesar had not had to take yet another life?
He slipped his wand back into his belt, his hands trembling slightly. 'Don't come before me again,' he warned as the man slipped away toward the forest. 'I will not disrespect my duties a second time.'
With that Vandesar turned on his heel, refusing to look back at where Leigh Addis had fallen a moment before, his presence stabbed in Vandesar's back like an icy dagger...

"So you see-- this is how it always goes." Erich crosses his arms and ignores the last anxious flutter of Leigh that swells up and out of the ground. He admires the sun. Even when they can't see him, Erich can be heard and now it is so. He leans teasingly in to the stoic, oblivious Gabriel. "You turn your back on something and it isn't long before the whole thing goes straight to hell. And if you wait long enough? Well, they'll soon forget you were ever there." Here a last tremor from beneath the ground as if there was still enough of the late professor left to be indignant. Erich rolls his eyes and continues. "I suppose this means I have my work cut out for me, doesn't it?" When he laughs, the vaguest outline of his features become visible. Water boiling out of a pot and into a haze of steam. Erich turns his gaze back toward the castle and uncovers his smile. Here the school, with the sun going down behind it, would seem to glow.
Spoken closely to the mind: My friend, my friend-- just look! This labor of love. Seen like this his mouth is only a cookie cutter for words. Let's begin.
