Andie made her way down to the lake to try to get some studying in but instead she found herself humming a song she had learned over the summer. It was called 'Chemicals React' and it was by two popular Muggle sisters. Aly and A.J. Michalka. It was actually a very good song and Andie soon found herself pulling her guitar out of her bag and playing and singing aloud.
"You make me feel out of my element Like I'm walkin' on broken glass Like my world's spinnin' in slow motion And you're movin' too fast
Were you right, was I wrong? Were you weak, was I strong? Yea- both of us broken Caught in a moment We lived and we loved And we hurt and we jumped yea But the planets all aligned When you looked into my eyes And just like that The chemiclas react The chemicals react
You make me feel out of my element Like I'm drifting out to the sea Like the tides pullin' me in deeper Makin' it harder to breathe
We cannot deny how we feel inside We cannot deny Were you right, was I wrong? Were you weak, was I strong? Yea- both of us broken Caught in a moment We lived and we loved We hurt and we jumped yea But the planets all aligned When you looked into my eyes And just like that The chemicals react The chemicals react
Kaleidoscope of colors turnin' Hopes on fire, sun is burnin' Shining down on both of us Don't let us lose it Don't let us lose it
Were you right, was I wrong? Were you weak, was I strong? Yea- both of us broken Caught in a moment We lived and we loved And we hurt and we jumped yea Yea, yea, yea We lived, we loved, we hurt, We jumped We're right, we're wrong, we're weak, We're strong We lived to love
But the planets all aligned When you looked into my eyes And just like that Watch the chemicals react Yea, yea, yea And just like that The chemicals react Yea, yea, yea The chemicals react"
She finished with a sigh and looked out across the lake.

Zachary had been leaning against a tree, focusing on his Potions homework when a voice terribly off-key reached his ears. Scowling, he stood up and walked toward the noise stumbling upon a girl singing something so horrible it had to be Muggle.
"Stick to your books, Ravenclaw. You obviously have no talent in the Fine Arts." He said with a glare, crossing his arms over his chest haughtily.

Andie glared up at the Slytherin and scoffed. "And you obviously have no talent in the art of being a gentleman." she retorted. "No one is forcing you to listen. Besides, ever heard of ear plugs?" "Now, if you will excuse me, I have work to do." And with that she gathered her belongings and made her way back to the castle.

Zachary watched her retreating form with a put-out scowl before sitting cross-legged on the ground. At least now he had some peace and quiet...
Looking back at the Potions text, he frowned and tapped his chin thoughtfully with his quill.

Bailey had been sat at the base of some trees, reading an interesting vampire book, when she had heard some wonderful singing, and so looked up from her book and listened for while.
The singing had stopped and so went to see who had been singing when a slytherin approached a ravenclaw girl, who she had assumed to be the singer. Speech was heard and soonafter she saw the ravenclaw stalk off.
Bailey crept up behind the slytherin and stated "well that wasn't a very nice thing to do or say, was it now?! You may be doing homework but there was no need to be uncivil."

Zachary's gaze flickered up toward the new voice, and he scowled realizing it was a Hufflepuff. "Someone needed to tell her the truth of her god-awful singing," he said looking back at his book nonchalantly. "I was doing her a favour really, you know. She should thank me," his voice was toneless as he flipped the page in his book. Two distractions in one sitting. Grand.

Bailey cheekily scowled back. "oh come on, the singing wasn't that bad! Your just being difficult, being a slytherin and all!" she laughed. She sat down, wondering how hard it would be to aggitate the slytherin. At this rate.. i'd give it less than 20 mins Bailey thought to herself.
"However, 'She should thank you' .. I believe not. For all you know you may have caused a small amount of psychological damage in one statement!" She stated factfully.

Zachary smirked, leaning back on his hands. "That horrible song she was singing damaged me, so a wound for a wound, right?" He glanced at the girl beside him, a careless expression on his face, before his eyes caught the book in her hands.
"Vampires?" He said with a raised eyebrow. "Sure that's not going to give you nightmares, Hufflepuff?" He said with a smirk.

"A wound for a wound indeed, I spose..!" Bailey said still unsure that it was the correct thing to do in the circumstance, 'manners is clearly something not considered high on his priority list' ,she smiled.
"Yes, I am quite sure thank you very much!" She pretended to be offended but laughed. "It is a rather interesting lifestyle, one i would be quite willing to adapt to i'm sure! Being a happy vampiristic emu frog of gingerness and all!" She grinned and then giggled at the slytherins puzzled expression. ".. umm yeh random conversations with friends tend to stick in my memory, that being one of the best!" She gazed towards to lake, thinking of her friends.
Bailey looked back towards the slytherin. "So what is it that you have the pleasure of doing on this fine day by the lake? Except being interrupted by myself and the ravenclaw of course!"

Emu frog of gingerness, Zachary made a face and mentally thanked Merlin that he had not been sorted into Hufflepuff all those years ago, never having to experience the displeasure of being called whatever other pet names they had for each other.
"Interesting lifestyle?" He scoffed. "Sticking huge fangs into some victim's neck," his hand absentmindedly rubbed at his pulse, "to feed." With a shudder, he pushed away his potions textbook. "And you say us Slytherins are morbid?"
His eyes wandered slightly to their left, landing on the expansive Quidditch Pitch and he brightened with an idea. "Nevermind about me," he said, his tone much more friendly and a smile on his face (which was quite strained). "You're on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, aren't you?"
He inwardly smirked. Should be easy to weasel some of Mark's plays off of this one.

"Nothing wrong with being morbid!" Bailey said with a smile
"However yes it is a rather interesting lifestyle I believe, as long as the vampire does not kill when they feed then I do not see such a problem with it!" She said in a know-it-all fashion.
Bailey studied the slytherin for a moment, then smile appeared on his face. A smiling slytherin..how perculiar she thought.
"Oh yes I am indeed, as are yourself I believe?! Why up for a challenge?" she laughed

Zachary, though he wanted to snottily argue about her statement, only nodded as if agreeing, trying not to let his nose crinkle in distaste.
"Oh yes, I am, of course." He said over-joyously. He had tried spying on the Gryffindors, which hadn't worked out as well as he had planned, and still had no information on any of the teams. It seemed he had struck gold, finally. "Captain actually," he flashed another smile, this one genuine and coc-ky.
"Your captain is Marks, huh?" He said nonchalantly, as if just remembering. "She been working you hard?"

Bailey looked at the slytherin, he appeared to be thinking alot more than he was stating. "Captain eh, oh very nice, and I only a humble little chaser. How low in rank I should feel!" Bailey said in an attempted sweet little voice. Bailey bowed mockingly to the captain of the slytherin team. "The teams seeker aswell i believe! No match for our Thom though I spose!"she grinned.
"Aye, Grace is our captain, a great one she is at that!" She shot a cheeky glance at him as if to say much better than all the other house captains.

Zachary caught the look and had to bite the inside of his cheek from letting out a snide remark. "You have yet to see me on a broom, Griffith," he reminded as politely as he could. "And likewise, I suppose."
Trying to lead the conversation back to her practices, he turned toward her. "Though, I'm sure the other chasers are jealous during your team practices." He said, egging her on.
He scrunched up his nose just slightly at having to compliment a Hufflepuff.

"Indeed, I have not yet seen your apparent talent upon a broom, perhaps I should pay some attention in that next Hufflepuff Vs slytherin match. But of course I would be much too busy scoring goals! Yet, perhaps whenever I get the chance, I could watch." Bailey stated with smile, pretending to stir over the idea.
"Well I never, was that a compliment from a slytherin?!" Bailey said with a satisfied grin. "However, as good as I may be, the others are not remotely jealous of course, seen as our entire team, is of equal greatness. Which it would appear is not so in certain house teams!" bailey remarked cheekily.
