Girty looked around the corridor as she crept down toward the classroom. It was late at night and Girty had been asleep until she had a dream and she wanted to talk to the professor about it. As she approached the door she pushed it open and looked around the room. It seemed darker colder and emptier then normal. Girty pulled out her wand and shouted. "Professor? Professor are you there?"

Faye huffed loudly, blowing a strand of hair out of her face as she swished her wand this way and that, directing dresses and shoes into the various trunks and bags placed about the room. It pained her not to be able to fold them neatly by hand, but she was in far too much of a hurry to waste any time on mere clothes.
'Shoot!' she snapped angrily as her wand stabbed at the air a little too eagerly, sending one of her best kimonos right past it's designated trunk and straight into her cat. It hissed at her inappreciatively, slinking from under the garment to watch from a safer vantage point.
Just as Faye was about to retrieve it, a small voice from the classroom next door distracted her. They had spoken softly so that Faye had been unable to catch what they were saying. Were they here for her? At this time of night?
Abandoning her packing, Faye strode from her bedroom, through her office and into the darkened classroom. She was rather surprised to see Girty Hubbles, a bright Hufflepuff student who was at the top of Faye's Animagus class. 'Ms Hubbles,' she said with a sigh. 'It's very late - can this not wait until tomorrow?'
She despised herself for turning the girl away, but she did not fancy explaining that she would be leaving tonight - and never returning.

Girty looked at the professor with a sideways glance. She opened her mouth slowly and looked around the room.
"What the hell is going on...it seems as if...if...if you are leaving!"
Girty moved forward and looked into one of the trunks. She leaned in and pulled out some books and after flicking threw them threw it back into the trunk.
"This is how you repay our hard work! You bugger off!"

(( Yeah, it's funny how that keeps happening. Fear not, Thom shall be returning as an Auror in training! ))
Faye looked at Girty sheepishly as she began to dig through the contents of her trunk. She was about to ask the girl to stop when she threw down what she was holding and glared at Faye with angry, hurt eyes, shouting at her.
'Ms Hubbles, I am still your teacher at this moment; please don't shout at me.' she said disappointedly, surprised that Girty of all people would loose her temper over this. 'Surly you knew that my position at Hogwarts was not permanent? I'm upset enough as it is that none of my students came close enough to transforming! Please don't make this harder.' she closed one of the trunks gently, the magical locks clicking into place. 'The arrival of the ministry has caused... problems for me. I have no choice but to return to Kimoto.' she sighed, referring to a wizarding village in Japan.

Girty continued to look at the Professor. Her insides were turning, she could not believe what she was hearing.
"But...but" Girty stuttered as she walked closer to the trunk Faye had just closed.
"But you said...you said that we were close. I have been practicing I can get into the void with ease. I thought you had confidence in me!"
With out meaning it Girty shouted the last sentence. Anger was building up inside. It seemed to be happening more often ever since Boggleworth gave her that potion.

Faye placed her hand on her temple, Girty's distraught voice more than she could handle. 'I know, Girty, and I am so sorry...' she said, angry with herself that she was feeling so impatient. What was so wrong with her that she could not stop to comfort one of her students? This was not like her at all...
Sighing heavily, she sat down on the chest she had just closed, composing herself as she looked calmly up at Girty. 'I have faith in you, dear. And love! Just because I won't be here, it doesn't mean that any of that will change.' she smiled reassuringly. 'Our friends leave us, and I know that its unfair... but its how we become strong.' She took hold of Girty's hand, looking up at her fondly. 'I will make you an Animagus - tonight. But after that you have to lead everyone else. You always believed you were no good at anything, Girty, but you are! You're a leader! And you're smart to have come so far so quickly!'
Faye stood up, somehow feeling a little bit better that she was at least keeping a small part of the pledge she had made in coming to Hogwarts. 'Are you ready?' she asked.

Girty stared blankly at the Professor as she spoke. Girty’s mouth slowly dropped open as the professor went on about being a leader. Girty could not believe what she was hearing and when Faye asked to become an Animagus tonight. With that Girty’s knees suddenly became weak and she looked around for a chair. After a second of looking around for a chair Girty gave up and flopped onto the floor. Crossing her legs she looked up at the Professor and nodded her head slowly.
“Yes I’m ready.”

Right at that moment, Grace knocked loudly on the door of the classroom and walked in. "Professor," she called sing-songily, "where are you? I'm here for that lesson we arranged his morning." Grace had been on a cloud all day. The prospect of transforming was daunting but exhilarating, exciting and challenging. She had had the best day.
She looked around the classroom. The lights were dim, there was no sound, except for the door creaking closed behind her. Then she heard voices. She went towards the door from where she had heard the voices and knocked as enthusiastically as before. "Professor?" she called to the door, "are you there? It's Grace."

A small yet warm smile filled Faye’s face as she looked upon Girty. However her attention was soon diverted when the voice of yet another Hufflepuff filled the room. Yet again a sigh escaped from Faye, these Hufflepuff’s had a talent for turning up at the wrong time. Trying to block this thought from her mind Faye called to Grace in her normal calm and soft voice.
“The door is open Grace dear. Please do come in” Faye then turned her attention back to Girty and gave her yet another small smile. Faye hoped it would reassure Girty that everything was fine, but also Faye too needed the reassurance herself. She could not believe she was about to walk out on her pupils, the only ones who showed any potential.
"Now Girty dear, I would like to control your breathing like we practised before and empty your mind of ever thought. Be free like the Coot, free your mind of doubt for it will not help.”

Girty took the advice of the Professor and took a deep breath. Then slowly closing her eyes Girty controlled her breathing and soon was taken into a dream like state. The sounds from the outside world were fading away as she focused on the image of the coot. It was hard to concentrate as excitement filled Girty up form the inside. How was she meant to make the change when she was unable to control her breathing, or even see a clear image of the coot in her mind.
After what felt like hours Girty opened her eyes shaking her head. “I can not do it. It is not possible. My magic is not advanced enough”
