Mozess walked down to the library trying to find something to do. Usually when she was bored she might go prank some Ravenclaw first year, or throw a bag of dungbombs into the boys lavatory on the fifth floor, but today she was feeling uncharacteristically studious.
She wandered down the rows of shelves, and aisles of rows, and floors of aisles until she found the section she wanted. Wizarding illnesses and attributes. It was not something she would usually find interest or amusement in, but for the moment there was nothing better to do...
She off-handly grabbed a book with the title "Metamorphmagi and their abilities" plastered across it's spine. 'At least it's a start...' she said before wander off to find a chair.

Jac had been wondering the aisles of bookshelves for quite some time now and seemed to find nothing that tickled her fancy. She had take books down from high up to practice her charms and accios. She had read through at least a page in each book and gotten stone bored, so she had put it back. She came out from between two very close shelves when she saw a familiar red-head.
She snuck up behind Mozess and read the title of the book over her shoulder, before she turned the page. After a few long moments and a few pages turned, Jac stood up behind Moz and said mockingly, "reading up on me, ay? Do I fascinate you that much that you've got to turn to books?" As she spoke she pulled up a chair and sat with her legs around the back of the chair, her chin on the top.

She smirked, 'Nope. Oddly, it's not you I'm interested in...' her eyes turned a doleful gray. She couldn't believe how much this was bothering her, but there had to be some way to change it, or control it at least. She wanted answers; why her, why this, why just this... These were the questions that had been plaguing her for the better part of a week. 'And dumb boys picking at it doesn't make dealing with it any easier,' her eyes darkened intensely with that thought.
She shook her head, trying to clear it out a bit and focus on the task at hand, 'So what brings you around this part of the library, you haven't caught some horribly contagious disease that's going to kill me off, have you? Partners in crime don't let partners in crime die before their pranks are pulled you know.'

Jac watched with concerned interest as Moz seemed to be thinking. But as soon as she spoke, Jac acted as though she had not noticed the changes. Jac rested her side on the table, leaning her cheek on her hand. "Me?" she asked, "try infect you? Never! I'd sooner douse you in hot water and then cold, while not even being in the room."
Jac suddenly got a far away look in her blue green eyes with a nasty glint. The wheels in her mind were working hard, plotting how she would get Zachary Daniels with this new plan of hers. She was brought back to a dishearten Mozess. She put her hand on Moz's shoulder and said softly, "what's up, Moz? Come on! Spill it! If it has to do with being able to change your appearance there's no one better to ask then me."

"That's exactly it!" she seethed, "I don't have the ability to change my appearance. Sure, it changes, but I don't have anything to do with it... well, I don't have any control over it..." her eyes were now a pale, stormy blue, "Whenever my temper flares they turn red, whenever I'm happy they're green, whenever I'm sad they're blue... I have a pair of mood rings where my eyes ought to be," she said finally, taking an excerp from a recent common room conversation. She sighed, "How do you do it Jac?"

Jac crossed her legs on her seat and held her knees. Rocking slightly, Jac listened to Mozess. "Do what?" she asked, for Jac had already started to work out why this - "oh! Right! Control it. Well it's difficult, I've been changing appearance with my moods since I was born and I still can't completely control it."
She thought for a moment, her hair turning a dull brown, then she looked up and said, "it takes sheer power of will to control it. I can change it when I want but it takes pressure. Like this," she said clamping her nose closed and screwing her face up, eyes closed, and she blew. Her hair turned her new favourite blood red. "It takes concentration, you need to block everything out-" she waved her hands back and forth from the sides of her face like a landing strip "-tunnel vision, you need to picture your objective at the end of your tunnel. And make it a short tunnel, the longer, the more energy it sucks!"

She gave a half-hearted laugh, 'I'll keep that in mind, but... I wasn't just talking about controlling it. I mean...' she sighed slightly, trying to find the right words, 'I mean just dealing with it, too... dealing with people... the weird stares, the comments,' she sighed again 'Or maybe that's just me,' she thought as her eyes became such a light shade of blue it looked like the iris almost wasn't there.

"O!" Jac said in surprise. She had never thought about how she handled the other part of being a metamorphmagus, and that was the people. She though long and hard about people she had spoken to, looks she had gotten and her reputation which grew wilder without her help. How do I handle it?
Then she smiled and said simply, "honestly! Out-right blatant honestly! If I see someone is staring at me, I'll go up to them and say hi! If I hear comments about me as I pass I usually stop and correct it (coz it's usually wrong)." Jac shrugged, "that's it I guess, honesty. And I know you may find it strange but people can see what you’re feeling so why let them interpret it incorrectly when you’re right there."

'You are a braver soul than I... or at least more candid one,' she said with a shrug. She tilted her head slighlty, thinking about if any of that would really help her in the future... 'Only one way to find out,' she laughed in her head, then smiled at Jac. 'I suppose your not a complete waste as a Gryffie,' she joked good-naturedly.

Jac laughed with her then suddenly stopped, frowning, she had not caught the joke. "What?" she asked, dumbfounded! "What you mean? I couldn't be in any other house!" She laughed, "can you see me in slytherin!" Jac burst out laughing for real this time.

Mozess sobered slightly, 'Yes. Yes I could actually,' she looked thoguhtful for a moment, 'Well... maybe not... but you still don't come off as a Goody-two-shoes, high-and-mighty Gryffindor to me. I suppose that's just me though,' she shrugged, then chuckled.
'So what are you doing in the library on such a fine day as this?' she asked, deciding it was time for a change in subject. Discussing hosue placements was only amusing for so long... then it got really boring. Really, really, really boring... and far too political besides. There were enough politics going on in the school with the Ministry barging in so suddenly.

"Fagin," Jac said shortly, "he's given us a 12 inch essay on why purebloods think they're better then everyone else. It's discrimination, I tell you. Not all purebloods are arrogant about their heritage." She was speaking from experience. Biggerstall was a long time traditionally wizarding family name and not one was arrogant about it. "I would have protested but Fagin is well, Fagin. He'll sooner take points from you for coughing then save his own grandmother from small pocks."

She laughed, "What a pity I've been skipping that class. It runs at the exact same time as my Defense Against the Dark Arts class," she sarcastically pouted. "Sterio typical purebloods are highly irritating. All of them stuck up pains in the neck..." she thought a moment, "There are some pureblood families that are not so proud and rude, but for the most part I'd rather hang out with stuck up mudbloods than stuck up purebloods," she snickered.

Jac laughed and held her stomach, leaning back in her seat, "I'd rather not hang out with stuck-ups!" She giggled and as she did her hair turned shocking blue with hysteria, complimenting her green eyes. She relaxed a bit, not laughing as hard and added, "but you're right! Stuck-up purebloods are self righteous and proud, not much fun to spend time with!"
