Boggleworth's rounds always brought him past the owlery somewhere he had a particular distatse of, as it always brought home to him, the fact that he had no real family, he'd never had a Mother's touch and fierce pride or a Father to scold him for doing wrong or for a clap on the shoulder for doing right once in a blue moon, or a Brother or Sister to pick on him and call him names, Grandparents to give him sound advice and the odd titbit of money or food, nor Cousins to play with, nor Uncles or Aunts to go and visit moaning all the way. What would it be like to have a family he wondered as tears rolled down his cheeks unbeknowest him...

Girty stood up and looked around the room. She stuffed the piece of paper into her pocket and stroked her owl before moving toward the doorway as she stood there she looked around and saw Bog standing still. His gaze seemed far off and to her it almost seemed as if he was crying. She moved closer and wanted to talk to him. Her arm reached out to his shoulder and she placed her hand gently on it. "Bog. Are you alright?"

Boggleworth cleared his throat loudly, "me?" he croaked, "yeah sure, why'd you ask?" he joked gently wiping away his tears. He couldn't show his weaknesses, he had to remain strong, or else... "What brings you here Girt?" his voice returning to normal, "What ya been up to recently?" he enquired.

Girty shuffled backward when Bog asked about what she was doing. "What there is nothing wrong with writing a letter is their." Her hand went into her pocket and closed around the letter. She tried to regain her composure and looked at Bog.
"You never cry Bog....well unless something is wrong with Grace and then you two can cry into each others arms for years...but that is not the point erm...What are you doing her?"
Girty was still flustered and her sentences were not coming out as she planned.

Boggleworth knew he shouldn't hide from Girty, but she didn't need to know this, and it wouldn't make him or her feel any better with the telling. "I was just wondering about something I have never had." He turned to Girty with sad eyes, but was far more interested in what Girty was doing here. "Who are you writing a letter to then?"

Girty nodded slowly at Bog when he started to tell her what was up but then again he changed the subject back to the letter in her pocket. She moved backward again and her grip around the parchment tightened. "Nothing....why should you care." Girty tried to calm down and took a few breaths. "It is a letter that is all." She pulled it out and waved it around Bogs face. "See letter nothing strange." She quickly put it back in her pocket and looked at Boggleworth with suspicious eyes.

"Ah but it is what is inside the letter, that is evidently quite strange, as you seem determined to dissuade me from being curious," he exclaimed pouncing on his advantage and pushing the topic further from himself. "You know you can't stop my curiousity, and don't look so suspicious, it doens't suit you, there's really no need to be agitated, if you really don't want me to know about it then so be it, tutherwise just ruddy well tell me you foolish bean you!" he laughed merrily feeling much better already.

Girty giggled at Bog and looked at him with his head titled sideways. "Your right. I'm acting so well. Stupid." Girty flopped down on the floor and her arms flopped to her side. She rested her head against the wall and looked up at Bog. "You must not laugh. But it is a letter to..to.." Girty fell silent and let out a huge breath. "my parents." she bit her lip hoping that Bog would not notice she was lying. She had been doing that to him a lot recently and in the pit of her stomach she could feel guilt welling up inside.

Boggleworth sat down wearily beside Girty and chortled, "so you're telling me you're so uptight about writing to your...parents" he looked at Girty quizzicaly, "you get on well with your parents though," he countered wondering if she might be lying to him "you're not trying to pull the wool over my eyes are you?" he asked, "cause that is just plain stupid," he sighed "but if you don't want to tell me..."

"No!" She blurted out interrupting his last statement. "Your my friend. One of the best i have at this place. You should know. But..."
Girty broke off again and banged her head against the wall. She then put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a very screwed up parchment. Girty looked at it slowly and then held it tightly. "What if...what if i was not here Bog? What would you say?"
She turned and looked at Bog closely and studied his face and then her gaze fell onto his eyes. She then looked away feeling as if he was looking right through her. But she waited, sitting in silence once more waiting for an answer.

Looking quizzicaly at Girty, Boggleworth said gruffly "what do you mean? You not being here? Stop talking in riddles and spit it out," he laughed "you not here would be hell," he answered honestly.

Girty nodded her head at Bog. She looked back at the parchment in her hand. She held it up to the light and looked at the ink scribbled across the page. She then pulled out her wand and placed it against it. within a blink of the eye the paper caught fire and Girty ave out a small whimper.
"I do not need to worry about it anymore. The letter is not more."

Shrugging as Girty destroyed the letter Boggleworth murmered still audibly "there's no use running away from your problems," Seeing Girty's expression he continued in his usual tone and register watching the embers flutter to the dirty ground of the owlery. "the letter may be no more, but it will resonate, the problem won't go away, I'd sort it if I were you, if that's feasible of course, at least you get letters," he commented with no real venom as might be suggested by the words. Turning to go Boggleworth's final words were "sort it out,"

Girty looked over at Bog and held no expression. “It has stopped the problem until the next owl comes.” She blinked slowly and watched him walk away. She knew she had to do something. She leaped up into the air and ran after him. She then jumped onto his back and wrapped her arms and his neck to hold on.
“And why should that statement creep in. ‘At least you get letters’” She tried to do her best impression of Boggleworth and filed terribly. “Why should Mr Henry Boggleworth start worrying about getting letters? They are pathetic really. They tell you if your goldfish has died or parents worrying if you have got enough underpants.”
