Over the summer, Professor Wigglyfish had requested a move from the dreary dungeon classroom, to a more spacious, airy room on the fourth floor. It was much more practical for the potion making sessions, the several windows providing the needed fresh air when all the cauldron fires were lit and fumes aflowing. She suspected the class may be a little late with the move, and sat herself down behind her desk patiently.

Thom had woke up grinning. Today was the day that Professor Wigglyfish had her very first Potions lesson for term two, and he was very excited. He had received his results over the summer with only one Outstanding, and to his joy it had been Potions. He was now back at Hogwarts as an apprentice for his favorite subject and teacher, and he had been working very hard to memories any of the basics he may have forgotten, just in case he was asked a question.
He walked into the new fourth floor classroom now, instantly refreshed as the morning air hit him. The windows were all open and bright sunlight streamed down onto the tables. Professor Wigglyfish was sat at her desk, looking content. Thom gave her a broad smile. 'Good morning, professor,' he said in a cheery, singsong voice. 'Wonderful day, isn't it?' Thom was so eager to have a good first lesson he had even left his joints and firewhiskey in his dormitory.

Upon arriving in the old dungeons classroom Helia had met an empty classroom and a note directing all students to go to the new fourth floor Potions classroom. She walked up the five flights of stairs, sincerely wishing they would ammend the rule about flying broomsticks inside the castle, the nwalked into the classroom to be met by the Professor, Thom, and an extremly bright room. She winced slightly, "Erm... Good Morning." She yawned and walked over to a desk beside a window. The sound of boiling cauldrons was comforting as she laid her head on the desk. She reached into her book bag and pulled out a small red vial. She took a swig of it and sat straight up, eyes wide, 'Note to self, sneak more pepper up potions out of the infirmary later,' she thought with a smile.

Jerred walked into the room, seeing an empty desk in the middle of the room. He walked in quietly, sat down and readied himself for the lesson.

Potions, thought Mozess happily as she walked into the classroom. She was a bit disgruntled that they'd moved out of the dungeon based classroom up to such a... sunny environment, but she still enjoyed the class quite thouroghly. She strode past a fellow housemate to the back of the classroom where the light was a bit dimmer, pulled out a few note taking supplies and vials of extra potion ingredients, should she need them, and made herself comfortable beside a happily bubbling cauldron, wondering when the class would begin.

L.C walked through the room noticing a few familiar faces. "Hello Professor" she greeted the teacher before rushing over to Helia. "So how was the rest of the summer after I left?" L.C asked Halo curiously while glancing over to Jerred. Quickly shifting her gaze back to Halo.

"Insanely fun!" she said enthusiastically in answer to L.C.'s question. She followed her friends gaze over to Jerred, then raised an eyebrow at Lauretta, but didn't say anything. "So, what all did you do over the summer?"

"Nothing really, it was pretty boring" L.C replied. She really hadn't done much this summer besides mope around her house. "I pretty much just played quidditch with my cousin" she sighed. Taking a seat she asked, "How's Liliana?" refering to the shortsnout she had named while at Helia's house.

Post by Zachary Daniels on Sept 5, 2006 3:57:30 GMT
Zachary sneered as he entered the room, his cheeks flushed slightly from running all the way up to the fourth floor corridor from the dungeons. He had been anticipating potions since the term began, and the new location had left him in a severely bad mood.
He rather liked taking Potions in the dungeons, having his favourite subject only minutes away from the Slytherin Common Room. He also thought he had seen enough of the bright, overly-cheery classrooms with the other, lesser important classes.
Shrugging off his bag sulkily, he sat in a far seat near the back, glaring daggers at Thom. Of course, the subject was further ruined by the Hufflepuff git taking the position as Potions Apprentice. Feeling thoroughly cheated and grumpy, he leaned on his hand and waited for the lesson to begin.[/color]

Jerred saw that three Slytherins had entered after him. A smile spread on his face as he recognised two of them, Zachary and L.C, the latter looking over at him. He thought weirdly for a second what that look meant but his thoughts vanished as he collected his bag and sat down near Zachary, trying to garner the elder Slytherin's attention from Thom, the Potion's Assistant.
Jerred then remembered the growing fued between the two and with a playful laugh, Jerred had to make a comment that would grab any persons attention.
"Your lovelife with Thom not going so well?" Jerred asked cheekily.

Girty walked into the classroom and a small smile filled her face. Light filled the classroom and breathed in deeply. Much better then the damp dungeons she thought and moved to the side of the classroom. she looked for anyone she knew and saw the odd person but no other Huflepuff...ecxept for Thom. She then saw Professor Wigglyfish and gave a small smile before pulling out her parchment and quill.

Professor Wigglyfish stifled a laugh when she saw panting students arrived who had obviously hurried up numerous flight of stairs from the previous dungeon classroom. 'Good Morning everyone,' She greeted, glancing around the students of the class. 'Sorry about the change of classroom but I figured that this room would be much more suitable.' A look on one or two of the slytherins faces showed they begged to differ.
'If I was you, I would be a bit miserable coming back to lessons after a long summer and thought we could have a bit of a competition today.' She raised a eyebrow challengingly. ' I want you to make a potion of your choice, which a couple of testers will take at the end of the lesson.' The Potions Professor explained. 'The potion has to cheer up or entertain the tester or class, or perhaps if you're really good, both.'
'The most successful brewer is excused from the homework I will be setting, and also can have a large box of Chocolate Frogs.' Though she had a sneaking suspicion that the lack of homework would be the most sought after part. 'You have half an hour to begin your potion - starting.. from.. now!'

Oh, this is gonna be good, Mozess thought mischevously as she looked around the room. She very shortly noticed something unusual though, 'Professor, where's the supply closet?' when the class had been in the dungeons everything had been laid out properly to find whatever you needed, but now, in this fourth floor sunny prison she wasn't sure where it was, nor how well things would be organized and labeled. It was quite frusterating.

Jarred leant over and tapped the Slytherin 5th year on the shoulder, garnering her attention as he pointed to a corner in the room.
"Supply closet?" He said, while standing and making his way over to it.

She looked to where the boy was pointing, a corner of the room right by a large window. Shesquinted against the sun that was streaming into the room and rolled her eyes, 'Well isn't that just quaint...'
She stood and made her way over to the closet, looking at the vials and bottles and bags of potion ingredients, her eyes a dangerous green with streaks of violet extending from the pupil. She searched the shelves until she found a jar of aconite, and belladonna, and a small vial of Erumpent exploding fluid, 'Perfect...' a smirk played on her lips as she walked back to her cauldron. She put on a pair of protective gloves and set to preparing the herbs; the monkshood she simply cut away from the stem and sliced in half, while with the nightshade she pulled off a few berries, made small "x" marks in the bottoms of them with her knife and dropped the plants into the cauldron. She then carefully took the vial of Erumpent fluid, uncorked it and tilted it over the cauldron, letting two drops fall in and then re-corking it quickly. There was a small -bang- and a plume of black and blue smoke emitted from the cauldron. A broad grin spread across her face and her eyes turn an eerie fuschia colour as she began stirring the potion; three long lilting stirs clockwise, a long drag through the center and thre stirs counterclockwise, repeating this until the concotion became a dark navy hue...
