So I was mulling around and I came across a little problem. Working the years backwards or forward or whatever I came to different figures & I simply couldn't figure out what the current year is. Ok, so for once and for all I would like to know what the year is.

Well book seven ended in 1998…and Ridd is set 100 years after Harry’s time at Hogwarts so throw on 100 years….2098….and we are now in term 5 so the school term will be… 2102-2103
I may have stuffed up on the maths…I know it is basic but I was doing it in my head…and well that very rarely turns out right…just ask my maths lecture at uni hahaha. Even with a calculator I still manage to get things wrong hahaha!

Well, according to the Harry Potter Lexion Harry was born in 1980, so by 1991 he was 11 years old and started attending Hogwarts. By that calculation it would mean that book 7 ended in 1998. So ... *insert Liz's words here* ... so then it would be 2103.
Anyone else got another number? And want to explain?
Coz I noticed there was a 2105 in a Bray/Fay/Ash thread and I would love to know how tey got that. *nudge nudge wink wink*

Aye dude I am happy to know that we got the same dates hehe! For some reason I thought we ended up getting different dates (yes dude I am not awake!) as so worked it out by Nearly Headless Nicks death day party and then worked out the dates of Harry being at school hahaha!
So yeah Harry started school in September 1991 meaning by adding on 111 years you get September 2102!
There is no harm in checking things over and over again hahaha!

What I should have done when I created the site (and still could do actually) is set a definate year & plot for the site.
Basically what happened was, we didnt want the plot of the book.. so me and Jordy just sort of went, 100 years after.. sure..
What you've worked out sounds good.
I also went through a stage of wanting Ridd to be marauders era.. but I left it too late to change really and thats another story, ha. *pushes away her want for this again*
I swear there was a point to this post.. but it hasn't seemed to emerged..

Well it will be 2103 when it reaches January....but as it is October it is still 2102
But other then that I am agreeing with you dear Robyn
