It may have been June, it may have supposed to have been summer but the gray clouds had rolled over the mountains and little droplets of rain where falling from the sky. With a disheartened sigh Girty leaned against the wall of the Entrance Hall as she watched the puddles that fill the courtyard ripple as every rain drop hit it. She was going to go down to visit Dax in his hut, he was rambling on about the pumpkins or something…she should have really paid more attention to him. At least she would get a cup of tea out of it, but then she could easily go to the kitchens, get a cup of tea and stay warm!
But she had been toying with the idea of running out into the rain on many occasions, sometimes the weather would die down and she thought about taking the risk but then as soon as she stepped out into the courtyard the heavens would open once more and she would made a hasty retreat to the cover of the entrance hall once again. Today was just going to be one of those days, full of indecision and quiet frankly annoying situations.
With a discontented sigh Girty puffed her cheeks out and then slowly let the air escape listening to the small squeak it made as it passed through her lips. It was then when the final blasts of air escaped her that she heard footsteps behind her, but the Hufflepuff did not bother to turn around and stare at however it was it would not be anyone important, there was anyone she cared for really at the moment (oh how emo) and if they wanted to talk to her then they simply would have to make first contact.

A confrontation between feline and mutt was long-awaited, it seemed, and common knowledge was how surprising the fact that they hadn't run into each other at all in the past month. Erys and Girty, that is; she had already dealt with her boyfriend. Lucky for her, wasn't it, that the Slytherin happened across the Hufflepuff on a wandering stroll throughout the castle, standing there staring at nothing as if there wasn't a thought in that thick skull of hers. As amusing as that sounded to Erys, she had business to attend to as she stepped up to the Hubbles, the slight heel of her shoes clicking as they pressed against stone. "You have some nerve, you know that?" Erys remarked, her voice calm, but cold. "Did it ever cross your mind that biting him would affect others, too? Oh, but it must, you're in the business of screwing people over lately, so I'm not surprised." Her eyes flashed dangerously, but it would only prove to express her anger, not induce fear in Girty. The Hufflepuff's stubborn and foolish reputation preceded her.
"There are enough werewolves around here without you flapping your gums and making more." Lets try and keep your mouth closed next time, shall we? Erys thought angrily, senses perked as she kept a close eye on Hubbles, making sure to be quick to react in case she attacked first. And what was the matter with her, anyway? Was the mutt afraid to get her paws wet outside? Aw. Surprising, wasn't it, that the Snake was so leniant with water, when the mutt was so reluctant to take a step outside.

It did seem impossible for someone to find some peace and quiet in this school now a day. You could not even stand in the archway of the entrance hall without someone being a pain in the bum and disturbing you and as a certain someone’s voice floated down towards here there was only one more person Girty could think of who she would have not wanted to be bothered by. Gritting her teeth the Hufflepuff closed her eyes and breathed in deeply through her nose in an attempt to keep calm. It was then and only then when she was sure she would not want to kill Erys did Girty turn around, although as soon as she looked upon the Slytherin she found it hard not to just bite her too although sadly by doing that it would do nothing but just leave a few teeth marks in her.
Girty continued to just listen to Erys onslaughts, a small cruel little smile on her face as although they were personal insults Girt really could not give a dam about what another proud Slytherin had to say. Licking her lips Girty sighed dramatically and met Erys angry glare. “Anything else you want to get off your chest? I know that your boyfriend left you to be a werewolf and that he is spending nights with me in the forest is hard to deal with but honestly it will help if you just let it all out.”
That was a cheap shot and Girty knew it but she could not help but grin as she knew the pain that it might cause a certain Slytherin and that made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside! She was being such an evil cow recently, it was so not Hufflepuff of her…but then…where in the shorting hat song did it say nice?

"If he left me for anyone, it would be someone of better class than you. He hates your guts." Unlike Hubbles' intentions to cause her pain, the remark only proved to push her more towards the edge, out anger if anything. The Slytherin circled her, stomach churning at the thought of her boyfriend doing anything but spitting on Girty's face. He wouldn't, she was sure of that. He knew that if he cheated on her, let alone left her, she'd flay him. Besides, she was positive he couldn't do better than her. At the Hufflepuff's grin she hissed, rolling her eyes. "Really Girty? Really? You know better than to grin smugly as if you've won something. The only thing you've gained," She lashed out with a clawed hand, aiming at her cheek. "is a new face." Enjoy. Senses keen, Erys fell into a hunting crouch, backing away a step if only to put enough distance to give her time to plan a better counter to the attack that was sure to follow her provocation.
She had been itching to beat the crap out of someone lately, and who better to do that on than Girty? Perhaps her elder brother, but then again if she did so she'd be out of a job. Really though she had been meaning to quit for more.. Prosperous, career opportunities, lets say. Something in the ministry perhaps. Amelia might give her something in the Animagus Department. Blinking back to the present now, the lapse only a couple of seconds, her pupils slitted as the irises felled green. She might have been biting off more than she could chew in challenging a werewolf, but she figured she had enough animal in her to at least put up enough of a fight to give her some significant damage.

The pain at her cheek was searing, water automatically filled her eyes blurring her vision for the briefest of moments as she stumbled backwards in shock. Her left hand reached up to her right cheek, holding it trying to stop the warm blood from trickling down her face. The Hufflepuff could feel the anger building up inside of her almost at the same rate as the pain from her scratch marks was increasing. Her heart was pounding so quickly for the briefest of moments all she could hear was her own blood pumping in her ears and the pattering of the rain hitting the stone of the courtyard. Taking one last deep breath Girty lowered her now crimson hand so her side and straightened up, her fists clenching into fists as she focused her eyes on Erys.
“I don’t want to fight you.” To be honest Girty did not know why she said that, she really did want to fight! Just looking at Erys made her want to rip the very flesh from her bones and toss them into a small little pile. Girty’s eyes rolled upwards into her head as if she was looking up at the dream bubble above her as if it was some cartoon. Snapping back into focus Girty’s eyes flicked back straight towards her rival Slytherin who was looking for cat like with every second that passed. Uncontrollably a low rumble of a growl escaped her throat as Girty found herself reaching for her wand; if Erys was going to attack she was not going to get scratched again. She had enough of that when the moon was full!
“Just back down pussy cat, your superior stands before you. “ It was true, cats and dogs never got on, neither did Hufflepuff’s and Slytherin’s so really this was just a dangerous combination. It would have only been time before the two of these were at each other’s necks and ready to spill some blood. The only problem was that Girty did not know where this cockiness was coming from in the experience of all Hubbles once their started to blabber away they did not know when the shut up. “So come on then kitty, take your best shot!”
