Bray was stubborn, he always has been. And he particularly did not like losing, especially not to some devil child. He figured it was just some very, very strange dream that he had seen some guy pop out of nowhere and start kissing Ellie in front of him, but when he went to breakfast the next morning and saw the look that Ellie gave him. Well, he just knew that she was mad as hell at him and it was all too real. It was creepy, there was no other word for it. Seeing the Headmaster -- who he openly disliked and made his life a little tougher -- as the same age as him. It just, wasn't right.
Bradyn went through all of his classes unusually quiet, and not paying much attention to them at all. He would just go, pretend to listen, jot down the assignment and go straight to the next class to repeat the process. He was extremely distracted, and it was only when he sat in on the Dark arts class that he finally had his idea of what to do. It had to be some kind of dark magic, that brought something so sinister to pry on the innocent hufflepuff.. and he would take the job upon himself to save the girl. It didn't matter if they didn't get along at all, and she hated his guts. He would still help her, save her soul, because they used to be so close. As the dark arts class ended he approached the professor. It was rather handy that Grace was a professor now, considering that they could be described as 'close'. Loosely.
Students weren't allowed to go into the restricted section, but really, with a professor's written permission you could do almost anything. Bray had taken his letter of permission and sauntered straight into the restricted section of the library where he then realized he had no idea what to look for. He had grabbed a few books on time traveling, dark creatures, and odd magical sightings then sat there reading through bits and actually taking notes. If you looked at the desk he sat on you'd see three or four books open with parchment scattered all over, with diagrams copied down and paragraphs and words that he didn't know and had to go look up. Even a few games of tic-tac-toe because this one book decided it wouldn't share it's information unless Bray played a game with it first, and you should never play games with a book filled with dark magic. It cheats every time.
The light from his lantern flickered and provided the only light in the dark library, and he wasn't sure what time it was. It was probably after the library was closed, but as a prefect, he had the right to stay out. He was just supposed to be doing something more proactive than this, but he didn't plan on getting busted today. That was especially apparent by the fact he had a mug of coffee sitting on his desk as well. If the librarian caught him breaking more than one rule, he wouldn't be allowed back in her library for weeks.
Picking up the said illegal drink, he tipped it toward his lips but paused before swallowing when he heard an odd noise coming from the library. He put the cup down with a click of the ceramic on table, his hand reaching towards his pocket.
"Who's there?"

Felicity hadn’t spoken to Ellie since the incident at the Three Broomsticks, so how could she have known that there was some leech attached to her once best friend? She saw Ellie sometimes, when she was on her patrols or in class, but she had never noticed the strange boy before. You can’t exactly blame her either, because they hadn’t left on the best of terms. She tried to not worry herself too much over what happened, and tried to avoid confrontation as much as possible. With Ellie, that is. Bray, well, he was another story.
Sadly, she had grown used to coming into class, feeling his glare on her back as she walked by. He hadn’t forgiven her. And she didn’t blame him. Fay had been a horrible friend, coming to rash conclusions and blaming him of being insane rather than stopping and actually listening to what happened. She broke the unwritten code of trust, and now he hated her. Felicity tried more than once to talk to him—she even brought treats in an attempt to win him over—but all for nothing because he refused to see her.
She didn’t expect to run into Bray tonight while on her patrol. Usually the two took opposite ends of the school, so there was no chance of them running into one another. The library happened to be on Fay’s end of the route, and she always popped in to see if any students were staying for some late night studying. Today was no different. She walked down the corridor, swinging her wand left and right to further illuminate the hallway.
Something was strange. The library door was open and the librarian usually closed it for the night. Felicity stuck her head in curiously and squinted her eyes. There was another light coming from further away. Her first thought was that it might just be a reflection from her wand, but when she moved her wand, the light didn’t follow. It must be a student in there with her. Fay kept her wand out in front of her as she moved forward and her eyes slowly adjusted to the lack of light.
Felicity paused outside the door that lead to the restricted section—which was also open—and tried to see further into the room. Finding that she current see anything but the light, she moved further into the room. She had planned to go quietly and sneak up on the person, but as everyone knows Fay has no grace once so ever. So, as she shuffled along, she somehow managed to hook her foot on a discarded book and send it skittering across the floor as she flailed to try to keep her balance. Her little display caught the attention of the person, who moved forward and called out something.
Almost instantly, Felicity recognized the voice. A little stunned, she moved forward with her hands held up in defeat until her face was illuminated by the light near Bradyn. “I come in peace?”
(meh, sucky post)
