Summary

The Friend --> As a friend, Harvey tends to be a comforter and is happier to have friends around his house for a dinner party than he is more likely to go out. He is not past his prime yet, but during his life he has never been much of a party-goer, nor much of a drinker. Perhaps it is due to an obsession of keeping a clear head, but the idea of getting slaughtered has never really appealed to him. He would much rather sit at home with a small glass of wine reading a classic book as he warms himself by the fire. He is a generous friend, offering a helping hand whenever he can, doing the little things for neighbours like water their plants while they are away, feeding their cat, helping them pack to move and yet much of an emotion depth with his friends also. He believes that people warm to him easily and he would do almost anything for them, of course, there are always those minor exceptions...

The Educator --> Souly, he is a Professor and to know him you could never see him as anything else. He is always overworking himself and work always is high in his list of priorities. He is sincerely vigorous that he is one of the small percentage of people who can do a job they are very dedicated to. He can be very knowledgable in typical school subjects however when it comes to the real world, he can be slightly on the naive side and in all truthfulness; sees the world through innocent eyes. He can have a very childlike view on the world and surrounding people, almost refusing to see the blatantely obvious bad in people. This is a bad flaw in itself as for one, he can never really see what's right in front of him.

The Lover --> Looking back throughout his life, Harvey can never recall an attempt at flirting. He gets slightly shy around women, but that is only because he does not see himself as anything special to date, looks or personality wise. He thinks of himself rather boring, talking about subjects that women won't necessarily find appealing and he believes he is average looking. The truth is, he is right, but when he does find the right woman he will admire her brains more than her looks although he will no means say that personality is more important than looks, because anybody says that is a liar. He is truthful, and he says they are about equal. After all, who would want to date a really unappealing face, or someone with an awful personality? A 50/50 mix is perfect, and anything more is a bonus.

The Little Details --> Harvey is a very thoughtful man. He takes care to add extreme details to things no matter how little or unimportant they may be. He likes to make the effort and mostly to keep his brain sharp and alert, not to mention working. He is obsessive over his hand writing, and if he ever makes any mistakes, he will always correct them. Any ink spots or splatters, and he will start all over again. It always has to be one hundred percent perfect. He is also a neat freak with his books, all of them stacked efficiently, in alphabetical order and never stacked messy. If a book is out of place he will not be able to rest until it is how it should be.

The Parts Nobody Knows --> Being of sound mind, and he supposes of sound body, Harvey is very greatful for what he has. He is not particularly secretive, but he doesn't let everyone know every little detail about his personal life. Why should he when he doesn't with the other person? Some things, he believes, should be kept private and more personal. Who needs to know when the last time you had sex was, or what you did when you went to the toilet? He is also not one for gossip, although some snippets he does hear intruige him.

Previous Chapters

Born in Wiltshire, England to Caroline Amanda Hertley and Bertram Robert Max, Harvey Dexter Max was the first of two offspring to come from the unmarried pair. Caroline's parents were not particularly happy to welcome Bertram into their family circle when the pair were dating in their seventh year at Hogwarts since the graduation dance but they had no other choice. They were however, extremely loved by Bertram's parents, and they were just happy to welcome the lovely Caroline Hertley into their small yet loyal family tree. They were the only ones at the couple's wedding, Caroline's sister, the only family of hers to show up and even then she was not particularly happy to be there as she felt she was torn between her parents and her sister. Caroline never understood why her parents disagreed with her views of Bertram, and it wasn't until years later that Caroline realised that there was no particular reason but that her parents thought that she was too young to date a boy, let alone marry him.

But Caroline thought differently, she thought she knew real love with Bertram and for three years they were happily married and still felt like they were on their honeymoon period. Caroline was now Caroline Max, and because of this she was dead to her own family. The thought panicked her slightly, but her love for Bertram grew ever stronger and although she had twinges of doubt because of the loss of her parents and sister, she knew she had gained a loving family from Bertram at the same time. It was only reinforced when she found out she was pregnant with what would soon be their first child. Both were delighted, likewise with Bert's parents, the grandparents. They had 9 months of awkward sleeping, vomiting, odd cravings and waddling to cope through which at times tried to test them, but eventually Jessika Maeve Max was born and everyone was delighted. It was only with the birth of Jessika did Caroline's parents see this relationship was for real, and they came to visit her in hospital. Just one look at that pale smooth face and they were putty in her hands. It was amazing timing that Jessika opened her beautiful chocolate eyes in the arms of her mother's mother and it was just moments before Caroline's mother was crying and was sorry for disowning her, and how she was so happy she made such a beautiful delicate thing.
Coping with their first baby was hard work, they had moved into their own house in a place just off from Godric's Hollow, a small cottage styled house that was perfect for them. A year after Jessika was born, Caroline was pregnant again and this time she had Harvey Dexter Max.

While Caroline stayed at home looking after the children, Bertram, being part french, got a job as a tour guide for the french tourists around London. The money wasn't all that good, but the tips were generously given to him in which he would be pleased that he had done a good job. With the tips he would bring home something special for the kids and his beautiful wife, some toys for his children and a new trinket for Caroline.

Harvey grew up well, and eventually his sister and he were sent to Hogwarts for their schooling. Harvey who was always in the library with his mother and soaking up books like they were spilt liquids and he was a sponge, was immediately sorted into Ravenclaw, exactly as his mother was. His sister, a year older, was sorted into Gryffindor much like her father.
School was an amazing experience for Harvey, and after Graduating with great exam results, he took on a job at the Ministry as someone's assistant for a while. Unsure what he actually wanted to do with life, he realised his whole life had been about books and so he decided to become a librarian.

This is where he met his future love and wife, Kristina.
He had stayed as a Librarian for many years up until his old school friend Elliot came to him one day saying he had quit his job and that he needed a place to stay. Harvey being Harvey, who had just recently split up with his wife of four years had been renting a small apartment but there was always enough room for an old friend.
Elliot came to live with Harvey where the two friends lived together for almost a year before they decided to do something about their future prospects, and there in the Daily Prophet in the jobs section was the advertisement for Professors at Hogwarts…and it did not take the two of them long to decide to apply there, and luckily enough they both got the jobs!
