The Leading Man
The Tragic Hero
You have to be the leading man of your own life, the hero of your own tale no matter how depressing and delude the story maybe. It is what happens to us in the past that makes us who we are now, the trails that we face shape us and this is no different with Elliott. It would be easy to say that he has had a hard life, but then with both parents living albeit apart he is no orphan, he did not get abused at home, only bullied at school. Because of this the confidence was knocked out of him at a young age, he reminded quiet and worked away he was not really one to stick in people’s memories. His job in the ministry was demeaning and dull but with nothing else going on in his life El took it seriously, never taking a sick day, never missing a deadline…but never getting promoted.
The Heartthrob
I guess it depends on what floats your boat…but over the years El has had a few lovers although none of the relationships where really meaningful or successful. He can be attentive and reassuring but whether he means the words he says is another thing. His cynical nature gets in the way and mixed in with his absence of confidence he just seems to be the man who sits in the corner, the frown etched across his feature moaning about life and the world. But then some people like a hopeless case.
The Action Man
Determination is what you need to become that gun wielding psycho who would run into a burning building just to save a small baby. El is not one of those; if he was he would have no common sense and been sorted into Gryffindor while at Hogwarts. Instead Elliott is someone who thinks before he acts and weighs up the pro’s and cons and then once he has decided which course to take he will do whatever is in his power to have success.
The Comedian
Everyone knows how to laugh and everyone has their own version of wit. Elliot’s is a particularly dry one. He is humours and sarcastic but never means his remarks to be personal attacks, although some may take it that way. However due to past experiences and his outlook on life practical jokes are something that would never bring a smile to his face and if he catches anyone carrying one out he would come down on them like a ton of bricks.
The Brooding Baddie
Where in the Sorting Hat song does it say nice? El maybe no Slytherin but neither is he a push over. The years of bullying and torment has made him a ruthless person to be around when he losses his temper.

Synopsis
Prequel
Born to Allan and Jean life seemed to be good for Elliott, both his parents worked and so he spent the afternoons after Primary school at a local child minders until his parents came home from work. To a small child who never knew anything different his home life seemed normal. Stressed parents who seemed to fight more then they laughed and would not stop talking about a world called ‘What could have been.’ When Elliott was six his parents had another child, Alison. Neither of them were very maternal types, they seemed to enjoy work and arguing more then raising their children and it was only when he was older did he realise that his parents only had another child to prove that he was not a mistake. It would explain why they had only been married for 5 months before he came into the world.
As predictable as the plot twist was his parents soon divorced, each going off to do their own thing and what they wanted. Leaving Elliott and Alison to spend every other weekend with their Dad, or at least that was until their letters from Hogwarts arrived.
Elliott’s time at Hogwarts was very mixed. On one hand he made some true friends, enjoyed his lessons (particularly Charms and Transfiguration) and enjoyed being away from home. Well most of the time when he was not being hexed or verbally insulted by other members of the school. The years he spend being bullied were the worst of his life and despite his friend Harvey’s persistence never did Elliott tell one of the teachers in fear it would make the problem worse. The years of torment effected the Hufflepuff leaving him with little confidence and a sheer drop in his grades which as a result affected him after he had left the school and entered the real world.
Elliot worked in international Magical Trading Standards Body which as you can tell by the name was not the most thrilling of jobs. Twelve years of loyal service, one hundred percent commitment and no sick days did not seem to pay off leaving Elliott in the same job he entered in, a repetitive, dull and demeaning job that he hated. This is when he did something he never thought in his life he would do…
He was spontaneous!
Quitting his job and taking his savings Elliot went to live with his old friend Harvey where the two friends lived together for almost a year before they decided to do something about their future prospects. As there in the Daily Prophet in the jobs section was the advertisement for Professors at Hogwarts…and it did not take the two of them long to decide to apply.
Sequel
Hair combed, best suites pressed, interviews passed where he impressed the Headmaster (who was younger then them, which bemused Elliot greatly) the two old friends head back to Hogwarts with the expectation upon them…but something is not right in the castle…in fact it seems to be a bit of a mad house.
