[/li][/ul]
[li] The colour pink
[/li][li] People in general (mostly authority figures and the ministry)
[/li][li] Over-happy types/idealists
[/li][li] Stereotypes (the fact that he has a few choice Slytherin characteristics
and hes in Gryffindor defies this)
[/li][li] Small talk (If you have nothing to say, dont make something up
on the spot just to try and hold a conversation. Silence is
just as nice, too.)
[/li][li] Prim, highly educated snobs
[/li][/ul]
[li] Thinking of the future (Pierce prefers to cross bridges when
he comes to them, rather than plan ahead.)
[/li][li] Schoolwork (Hes probably very smart, but the fact that he doesn't
do anything in the majority of his classes is getting him
into trouble.)
[/li][li] Showing his true feelings. (He could really care about something or
someone, but it would be terribly hard for him to show it.)
[/li][/ul]Personality: Pierce isnt going to float around pretending to be the lone, misunderstood bad-boy whos rep is just as fake as he is. In truth, he isn't going to kick anyone's ass if they bad mouth him. He honestly couldn't give a rat's tail to what they think. His apathy is probably one of his most defining traits, and while he can step up and deal with someone once they have physically provoked him anything below that (such as petty insults, etc) wont catch his attention. He doesn't care about his marks, but he has a phenomenal knack for Care of Magical creatures. If the rest of his marks werent so low he would probably try to become an apprentice for the CoMC professor.
Stubborn, pessimistic, and generally uncaring, Pierce carries the typical trait of loyalty for the few friends he has. While it may seem he is inept at showing any emotion if you look closely he does express it sometimes, usually by quirks of his mouth or flashes of his eyes, the latter of which being the most expressive part of him. He looks after his friends without them even knowing it, a habit he picked up while caring for his younger brother Hollis.
Being the type that lacks ambition, Pierce is quietly fascinated by it. There is nothing more seductive than a woman with drive, but to find the guy with a crush is highly unlikely. He rarely sets his eyes on anyone, so when he does they should feel pretty important, they must really be something. Despite his report card he prefers holding at least grammatically correct conversations, if the content isn't that great. Theres so much he wants to change in the world, if only he had the drive to achieve it.
His independence is admirable, especially when, if he wants to travel somewhere, he'll find a way to pay for the journey quickly. Usually he just goes with the flow, not rocking the boat but not hovering at the sidelines, you know? Kind of in the middle of the two, at the borderline. He wont hesitate to defend his honour and prefers physical fights instead of magic ones, because he isn't the greatest at the latter. He can hold his own, unless hes dueling someone adept at magic. So for Hogwarts (the school where everyone is amazing at everything it seems) dueling isn't a good move for Pierce.
There isn't a real reason why he smokes, only that he likes the taste. He isn't doing it in some sort of teenage rebellion act, or to defy his parents, or to stick it to the man. He just likes the taste.

History
Mother: Danica
Father: Eirik Williams (40)
Siblings: Hollis (8)
Pierce's history isn't particularily impressive, nor is it something he likes talking about. His parents, both Slavic, grew up with very strict up-bringings, so it was no surprise when they both rebelled and become the ideal drunks who got together just because they could fund each other's never ending beer quest. Or because they had slept together while intoxicated and he fathered Pierce, maybe, was why they remained together. But they did, and being this child was unplanned and unwanted (it was shameful to have a kid under these conditions, she had to drop out of school) he was treated terribly. Often beaten horribly, constantly under the impression that nothing was good enough, he slowly but steadily just stopped caring. When his brother Hollis came along he protected him (and still does) fiercely, knowing that when he was a kid he needed someone there too. His parents would never lay a finger on him so long as he was there.
Throughout his younger years Pierce never talked to many people, being very quiet and thoughtful. He had one true friend, a girl named Sarah, who he loved (as a best friend) and confided in. They would dabble in everything from the dark arts (or the child's image of it, nothing serious) from ancient artifacts to secret files in her parents office in the ministry. Eventually her parents felt it in her best interest to transfer to Beauxbautons, after bad relations between her and a teacher affected her performance at school, and away she went, as torn about it as he was. While they still keep in touch, every day even, hes never really found anyone else he wants to become that close with. After she left in his fifth year he, having lost his best friend, only had less reason to come to class.
Eventually he turned eighteen and moved out, owning a shabby but homely apartment where he, against his parents wishes, took his brother to live with him. They would have followed him with the law at their side if he hadn't offered them two kegs in return, and while the 'trade' of sorts was the lowliest thing he could have participated in it he was desperate to keep Hollis safe with him. He provides for his little brother, who sometimes stays at the apartment, sometimes sneaks into the dorm with him.
