The Character[/size]
Name:
Roslynn Venice
Nicknames:
Venice
Age:
16
Year:
6th
House:
Slytherin
Blood:
Halfblood, and despises it. Roslynn will do almost anything to ensure that no one speaks about her lineage.
Wand:
Nine inches long, Roslynn’s wand is made of yew wood. Though artfully crafted, it is rather plain, boasting only delicate spirals and other tribal-like markings etched into the handle to serve as a grip. At the heart of a wand sits a thestral hair.
Pets:
Venice was gifted a small burrowing owl to take with her to Hogwarts by her mother in her first year. Since then, the small brown and tawny spotted bird has become her closest friend, acting as a familiar like a cat or dog would. In her childhood fancies, Venice named him Barney, and it just stuck. He is often found with her, perching on her shoulder like a parrot in a pirate’s tale.
Patronus:
A moray eel.
Boggart:
A dragonfly. Venice has always hated the sound of those insects wings beating together, and their size when they fly close to her sends her into a panic.
Personality:
Every decision Roslynn Venice makes and every action she takes are calculated to shift the circumstances around her in her favour. The sixth year Slytherin is skilled, cunning, and manipulative, having picked up all of these traits from her mother as a child. She knows the benefit of a sweet smile, a low-cut top, and a silkily spoken word. She has spent the majority of her life keenly observing the people around her, and in doing so has learned the inner workings of the human mind. Every flaw of human nature that she has learned of, she has developed a way to use to better herself and her life.
Venice was born into beauty. The mediocre looks of her mother and the fine features of her father mingled together to birth a creature fitting of valiant and epic poetry. Or at least, that is what Roslynn thinks of herself. She cannot so much as pass a reflective surface without gazing into her own silver hued eyes. At the age of sixteen, she has just learned the benefits of possessing such beauty, and knows it can help her to achieve her aims.
Despite her tendency to constantly please those around her, Venice is quick to anger if she feels you have crossed her. She is slow to let people close to her from the start, and if you break that rare trust, you may never earn it back. Though Roslynn may often feel alone and in need of companionship, she would never dare show it: to show it is to show weakness.
Appearance:
Born and ugly duckling, by the time Venice was twelve, she had started to lose her baby fat and sprout into the tall, shapely form she carries now. Her dull, and unremarkable facial features had turned sharp and mysterious. At 16, she is pleased with the outcome of her genes: silver eyes, flowing brown hair that caresses the top of her shoulders, and slim and tidy limbs reaching out from her hourglass torso.
Roslynn tends to paint her lips a stunning red, which accents the small beauty mark on the left side of her face, similar in location to Marilyn Monroe’s. Her long lashes are always accented with lengthening mascara, and her silver irises brought out to shining brilliancy with eyeliner.
