Laney has a firey spirit about her. She's smart and witty, but usually her sarcasm reigns over her attitude in all circumstances. Carolanne, as the baby of the family, she's overly protected, which annoys her. She just wants to get out and be free and away from the protective eyes of her family. Laney loves to have fun and often goofs around with her friends. She also has a serious side to her that can often take over when the circumstances prove necessary.
History:
The story of Carolanne Elizabeth Roberts begins with a love that blossomed from the very depths of the heart. Matthew Roberts was a Hogwarts grad; Seventeen, fresh out of school and ready to roam. He found himself in Paris, France on some crazy adventure a buddy of his had convinced him to take. It was there his eyes caught sight of a rather beautiful girl of sixteen; Vera Bures. It was one of those 'once in a lifetime true love' sort of things and not a year later, once Vera graduated from Beauxbatons, were they married.
Seventeen years old was young to be a mother, but there Vera was, belly and all. This child was their first, and not their last. The pregnancy was a difficult one but the doctors said the baby would be fine. It wasn't until labor had begun, did they find the devestating news that'd haunt Vera for the rest of her life. The couple was crushed to find their eldest daughter was a stillborn. Alisabeth Anne Roberts was the name they placed on the burial site. The doctors had claimed that Vera would no longer be able to bear children after that. Two years later, however, Vera and Matthew's 'little miracle' had been conceived.
On October 14th, around 5:20 am, a baby girl was born to the couple. Carolanne Elizabeth Roberts, they would call her; after her Grandmother, Carol, and her deceases older sister, Alisabeth.
Although it was troublesome to lose a child, Matthew and Vera gave little Carolanne all the love she deserved. Carolanne was everything the couple could ask for in a child. Obedient, smart, beautiful, healthy, and most importantly, theirs. Laney was two years old when her father was diagnosed with Lukemia. Although it would be a hard and miserable year, Matthew stayed strong for Carolanne, his everything. The treatments seemed to be working until Matthew took a terrible fall down the stairs and found himself back in the hospital. It seemed the cancer had spread and this time, Matthew chose to live out his days with his family instead of wasting away in the hospital. A year later, Matthew would die during a Vacation to Rome with Vera and Carolanne.
It wasn't three months after Matthew was buried did Vera meet another man. This man would be Daniel McLane. Six months later, they were married and three year old Laney went from Carolanne Elizabeth Roberts to Carolanne Elizabeth McLane. Little Laney found one good thing out of this new change, a brother. Growing up as a McLane wasn't all lollipops and gumdrops. As she grew older, she found herself defending her brother from Daniel more than she could count. Thankfully she was never abused by the man, it was one of the lighter sides of being the child of the woman Daniel loved. Instead, she had to watch Ashton take it all. Near the ending of Laney's sixth year, Vera divorced Daniel McLane.
Now, at sixteen years old, Laney finds herself at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She's fallen for the ex of Ashton and is still waiting for the outcome to play out. Will Hogwarts only bring her heart more pain or will something good come from all of this?
