The Personality.
Kelsey has a very odd personality. She believes in 'thinking outside the box'. She absolutely loves Qudditch. She has a very odd sense of humor at times, and is extremely sarcastic. She's very hard working, and is always there when a friend is in need. She loves taking pictures but hasn't been able to afford a good enough camera to make it a real hobby. She loves just hanging around and and doing dares. Sometimes though she can get to caught up in everything around her and she's been known to have mental breakdowns from it. She can sometimes get so caught up in school and in her friends life that she forgets about herself and her wants and needs.
Best Qualities Include: She's very creative and a hard worker. She's learned to be more outgoing as she's gotten older. She prides herself on being a good friend and a great listener when anyone needs to rant or cry or anything at all. She always puts others first. She loves taking care of others but doesn't like being taken care of herself. That being said, she's fairly independent but tends to act like a mother to her friends. She's also really athletic and tries to get her opinion out there.
Worst Qualities Include: She can get fairly competitive when she's really into a game, primary with Quidditch. She doesn't have a lot of confidence in herself. She's also someone who gives good advice to people who are like her in that aspect, but never follows it herself. She often tries to put on an act that she's sure of herself and that she knows what she's doing, but she tells herself that most of what she's doing is wrong. When anything goes wrong, she blames herself for it even when it wasn't her fault. And along with that, even though a someone is acting like a terrible friend to her, she has a habit to just avoid them and therefore feels as if she's the awful friend in the relationship.
The Appearance
Kelsey has long curly light brown hair. She's about 5'6 in height, and has an athletic body. She has light brown eyes. Her voice is soft and it has that innocent tone to it even though if the words aren't. She dresses extremely casually When she's not in uniform, she has on jeans and just a T-shirt, always dressing for comfort and not style. She rarely has on more makeup than eyeliner nor does she often have her hair done due to lack of care in that department. She prefers the just get out of bed look compared to the spend 3 hours getting ready look.
The Family
Mother: Amy Addlentty. 40 years old.Stay at home mom. Came from the house of Ravenclaw (although Kelsey always thought she should be in Slytherin). She's a very stern and tradition woman, however she wasn't always like that. It seemed to be that turning into an adult and having kids exhausted her and all her worse qualities came out. Kelsey also always believed that her mother had thought she'd made a mistake in marring her father and moving to America to be with him, even though they were crazy in love when they married.
Father: Carol Addletty. 41 years old. Muggle. A powerful lawyer who gets caught up in his own work. He doesn't pick favorites in his family - he just ignores everyone. Sometimes though, he has been known to be compassionate towards Kelsey and Matt especially, knowing how hard their mother was on them. Kelsey's always thought that drove himself so much at work so that he couldn't be at home as much to fight with his wife.
Older Sister: Nikki Addlentty. 27 years old. Was a Slytherin at school. Now she works for the Ministry (department for control and regulation of magical creatures). She's always been her mothers favorite because she possesses most of the same qualities. Kelsey barely counts her as family anymore, since she was never around when Kelsey was growing up, and she hasn't talked to her in at least 3 years now. 5 years ago she got married to another Slytherin named Marcus.
Older Brother: Matt Addlentty. 25 years old. Former Gryffindor. He has most of his fathers qualities expect for him his better ones rule out the bad more. A couple years ago he got a job at Gringotts but he's still not really sure what he wants to do with his life. He's often been the only one there for Kelsey, and even put up with her hanging around him a lot. To this day, he writes her more than both parents put together. He was an excellent beater at Hogwarts and has passed his skills down to Kelsey.
Younger Sister: Chrissy Addlentty. 12 years old. Slytherin student. She's very spoiled from being the youngest and gets her way a lot. She's easily the second favorite to her mother. Kelsey barely runs into her at Hogwarts, and is sincerely okay with that. Most people never even people their related since their personalities are so different.
The History
Before her time: Kelsey's mom had been on a vacation in New York City, as traveling had always been one of her favorite things to do. While there, she walked into a cafe one afternoon, and saw a guy there just sitting and reading the newspaper. She sat down next to him, and instantly felt a connection to this guy she'd never even met. She got him to talk to her and found out his name was Carol, he was in law school, and was a muggle. By the time she left, she knew this was meant to be. She extended her trip, and they eventually fell in love. Her parents never really agreed with it, being intensely traditional with stuff like that, but she didn't listen to them. They got married, and she officially moved to the city. After 3 years of marriage, they had their first child, Nikki. Then 2 years later little Matty came along. They thought there would be no more kids, but surprisingly 9 years after Matt, Kelsey was born. Nikki had been furious they were having another kid, but Matt was incredibly excited to be a big brother. Feeling like Kelsey needed someone closer to her own age, they had another kid four years later, Chrissy, not at all expecting the two to not even talk when they see each other at school.
Her time:She was born in New York City to a witch mother and muggle father. At age 8, her family moved to a small town near London to be closer to her only living grandparents. As her brother was already out of school but didn't have a job yet, she hung out with him nearly all the time. When he moved away, she became friends with all the neighborhood boys since she'd learned to be more comfortable with them then the girls her age. When she went to school she did basically the same thing, yet has learned to be more comfortable with the other girls, as long as they aren't the overly pristine girls. When she first got to Hogwarts though, she was incredibly shy around all the unfamiliar faces and felt completely out of place. Yet as she got older and more comfortable with her surroundings, she learned to be more outgoing around people she didn't know. Her older brother had trained her to be a decent beater, which she spent all of her free time practicing in fields during summer breaks. Since she came to Hogwarts all she's wanted to do was to make the House Qudditch team, but she's always been to afraid of being rejected to try out. But its something she wants to definately try this upcoming year. Her love life has been pretty lax. She's dated a couple guys from her neighborhood, but never anything more than just a summer fling. She's never dated anyone at Hogwarts though, mainly since she still hasn't really met anyone she's felt worth trying to hook up with. And along with that she's also still fairly shy when it comes to that kind of stuff.
