Fagin had had an idea, usually this wasn't a good thing as it would involve the torturing of some small annoying pupil, thankfully those plans never got into full fruition; he only dealt out countless detentions instead. But this idea was different, he'd had the brainwave to take a selection of students with a wish to learn more of muggles; on a fieldtrip, to fully experience the differences. They would be away for a few days, it was all authorised and legal; naturally, and the selected students would endure life as a Muggle for a few days, partly to show them how privelaged they all were, and to educate the purebloods as to how muggles actually lived; not altogether very different to wizards.
He now awaited the various students that had signed up to join the adventure, wondering if they were indeed fit enough to attend.

It had been a hard and trying day for the usually up-beat Hufflepuff. Nothing truly bad had happened. She was just tired and her mind didn't work half as great when she was tired.
Probably unlike 90% of the students at Hogwarts, Olivia looked forward to going to see Professor Fagin. She liked his class, and his rough, roguish demeanor always made her smile. Perhaps he would be able to put her in a better mood by trying to put her in a bad mood.
"Hello Professor." Olivia said, sullen, as she walked into the room. She noticed that it was empty. She looked around. "Am I early?" She asked, hoping she wasn't. Olivia hated to be early, and she hated to be late. She was a very 'on time' person.

Maeve walked to where she was to meet her head of house for the Muggle Studies field trip. She actually looked foward to living like muggles. She had snuck out of her manor so many times to just look around muggle towns and cities, that she was ready for this trip. It sounded like fun.
Although, she wouldn't show it.
Walking up, she saw one other student and Professor Fagin. "Hey, Professor." she greeted. "So, how long are we going to live like them, if I may inquire?" she asked, acting bored, when she was energetic and waiting for the trip to start.

Arthur had his face grin plastered on his face, he was hiding, full well nervous of what was to come around the corner. He stopped and peaked, over-cautious, he was turning into his mother.... He didn't want to do that. Or else he would become so protective he would only leave his house when needed, and would have everything protected. Things jerry-rigged to where they would hardly move; such as the fridge, the stove, bookshelf, the television, beds, and the works. Arthur peeked around the corner and made the dash to the Muggle Studies door and made it. It reminded Arthur the one time he got to play football when he did play. He was small, frail, and soft. The three things not expected of a football player. But Arthur threw the door open and walked in casually, looking at the professor. "Hell professor!" Arthur said pleasnatly examining the room. He knew much about the muggle world, being raised one his whole life.

Vanessa entered the room as angry as could be, stomping her feet on her way in. She so apparently didn't want to be there, but under certain circumstances; it seemed as though she had no choice. Her father just got done having a very long talk about attending such a trip with the Headmaster, only to lose the battle. "God.. I hate this place," she whispered beneath her breath, hiding her wand within a very long dress sock.
She rolled up the sleeves of her uniform, glaring over to the professor. "No one said anything about having to live like them," she said in reply to Maeve's comment. "I'm so not cooking for myself either. Ew."

Post by Shabnam Snapdragon on Jun 24, 2007 22:51:11 GMT
Shabnam had left everything but the bare essentials tucked in and around her bed back in the Hufflepuff dormitories. The entire night before she had gone through her belongings looking for any clothes that resembled muggle attire, and all magical sweets and trinkets had been left out of her traveling trunk. There trip wasn't for another few days, but she was thinking about it relentlessly. Of course, there was one thing she was worried about leaving.
Although it weighed virtually nothing, and she rarely noticed it on her belt, Shabnam felt oddly light without her wand. She wasn't the kind of person who relied on it particularly, but then again she supposed she had never really had to try and do anything without it. Now she was beginning to notice all the little things that could potentially need a wand. Locked doors, bad hair days, lost things... she was hopeless with all those things without the aid of magic...
Walking into the Muggle Studies classroom with glazed eyes and a distant, blank expression she sat down in the first seat her knees bumped into, resting her chin on her fist as she stared off into space thoughtfully.

Jac strode into the class, as she often did, slamming the door aside. "Good day, all," she said happily, "Professor." She gave the professor a particular nod before waling over to the Hufflepuff she had had such an interesting debate with in previous lessons. "Look," she said, "if we're going to go away together, I want to do this first."
Jac stood in front of Olivia. Her hair was red today and her eyes green and she was a tad taller then usual. She glared at the Huffie for a second then stuck out her hand and smiled. "Jac Biggerstall, pleasure arguing with you." She had realised after their lesson that they had not been properly introduce. Jac had to be the first to do it.

Fagin smirked as the assembled began gathering, indeed they didn't look like a bad bunch, perhaps he would even enjoy their company, especially if he could deduct a handsome amoutn of points from them. He recognised most from his lessons thankfully and he was takihg solely those with good reports, he didn't want any nonsense when they were away, there doubtless there would be lots pointless shenanigans.
As Miss Belmont entered Fagin nodded curteously, she actually had the capability of answering questions in class, so Fagin had gone to the immense trouble of learning her name; only he'd clean forgotten her first name, surnames would have to suffice. "Miss Belmont on time as per usual, yeah everyone else will be late from now," he chuckled mischeveously "so your classmates will hate you for it," he laughed gruffly; the smirk was still evident as one of his own Slytherins trooped in.
"Hey, hey, what the hell is that? Hello is the correct greeting, or good morning, I'm not a simpleton friend of yours," he snarled enjoying himself, "as long as I feel it necessary, you'll probably be stuck there for a long, long time," He chuckled stressing the word long with deliberate elongation as he strode towards her mock menacingly. As the door was thrown open once more, nearly breaking on its rusted hinges Fagin pounced upon the newcomer.
"Good morning little brat," he boomed clapping him roughly on the shoulder. "next time don't break me bloomin door." He growled with a smirk. About to continue his tirade upon the hapless little chap; to his eyes at least, he was interupted by the door opening yet again, emitting a very angry looking Slytherin, good grief, what's she doing coming with us? He thought irritably. "Sit down girl," he roared pleased that somebody wasn't in such high spirits as the rest. "I damn sure won't be cooking for you, so unless you want to starve I suggest you learn to cook something before we go, the same goes for all of you, I don't want any deaths on my hands, unless I've caused them." Giving an equally penetrating glare to Miss Valentine he believed her name was, he chuckled though wondered quite why she seemed to hate muggles so, living with them was no different to living with a load of old warlocks, excpet warlocks were a lot smellier.
Yet another student followed cloe on the heels of Miss Valentine, "Snappy," he hallooed "forgotten your manners?" He asked pondering over why she always had such a dazed expression, even when animated and giving an answer, how very strange. But before he could solve the riddle the last, but by no means least student arrived. "Biggerstall stop breaking me door," he cried jokingly springing over and pointing out the chipped wood. "You'll have to buy me a new one," he threatened smirking as he sat back onto a desk, perching precariously atop one that tilted dangerously. Listening in on Biggerstall and Shbby's conversation Fagin chuckled delightedly "well I never, arguments eh? I hope there's more for our enjoyment."
Deciding it was about time to begin the meeting proper he commenced in a carrying clear voice, glee quite apparent in his tone; "Morning all, now I want no damned tomfoolery whilst we're away, you shall all abide by my rules and regulations which coincidently are relatively similar to the school's, only I can punnish you by far fouler means," his eyes glinted, if they misbehaved terribly during the trip, not a single hosue would have any house points left. "Detentions will be issued for bad behaviour as usual. I needn't mention that you'll be representing the school, colleagues of mine shall be joining us to help keep an eye on you all. Now we shall be leaving via the Knightbus this coming Sunday at 12 noon on the dot, no exceptions, if you're not there on time we'll be gone without you. Get prepared and packing will include muggle items, no magic at all." He glared suspiciously underneath his bushy eyebrows at Miss Valentine, instinct told him to suspect her of funny business.
"Any questions?" He asked opening up the floor for debate.

Maeve listened intently and raised her hand when he asked for questions at the end. "So, does that mean we are to pack without magic right now? No use of wands or relying on the house elves?" she asked. "And are we leaving our wands here in our dormitories with our other magical items like our Exploding Snap cards?" she added. She wouldn't care packing, she'd done it before. She wouldn't care leaving her wand, she had done it before accidently. But leaving without her cards? She always had a deck on her. In fact, there was one right now in her pocket.

Jac looked at the door when Fagin reprimanded her for supposedly damaging it. Personally, she thought to herself, crossing her arms and looking defiantly at the old grouch, you're door's always looked like it needed replacing. She would never say it out loud so she went to the door and inspected the door.
She stood up straight and let out a satisfied huff. She pulled out her wand and cleared her throat. She pointed her wand at the splintering door and said, "Episkey." A bolt of light erupted from her wand and when the light dimmed, the door looked like it was brand new.
She took a seat and smiled at the professor, listening as he spoke. Questions? she thought, tapping her chin with her index finger. She looked at the Slytherin who spoke. "Yeah," she said, nodding her head, "I don't know that I'll feel very safe with out my wand."

Vanessa's jaw dropped. How dare he speak to her like that! With a huff, she sat down in her seat. Her arms crossed her chest, glaring still at the professor. Slytherin Head of House and professor of Muggle Studies.. How was that suppose to work? "Muggle lover," she whispered beneath her breath, eyes narrowing.
She reached into her pocket, pulling out a nail file and ran it across her nails. I'm so not cooking. Her head lifted up from her nails for a moment, feeling as if he was staring directly at her. Or more, glaring. "Is there a problem, professor?" She said, putting on a big, fake smile.

Olivia nodded to him gently as he pointed out her timeliness. It really wasn't necessary and she could feel the eyes on the back of her neck. Her face went slightly pink.
Olivia jumped as someone walked into the room. Interesting entrance Olivia thought, turning around to see the girl she had had an argument with during the last lesson. Olivia heaved a sigh, and turned back toward Fagin, waiting for him to start his talk. Olivia blinked, and the girl was standing in front of her desk. " Look if..." Olivia started but the girl took her turn to talk. Olivia smiled at the introduction. "Olivia Belmont, and it was my pleasure." Olivia shook the girl's, Jac's, hand.
Liv nodded, she understood the trip, but as a Slytherin girl spoke up Olivia rolled her eyes. It sounded as though she were being thrown out into the Wilderness for a few days. Honestly, it sounded as though she would rather take her cards than have the safely of her wand. As a fifth year, Olivia had grown used to the idea of carrying her wand. She was sure she could resist the use of it, but it was a safely blanket just to know that she had it there for any emergency's.
Raising her hand, "I agree with Jac, I'd feel better if I had my wand." Olivia said. Looking at another Slytherin girl, who had obviously been offended, she heard the mutter of Muggle Lover come from her seat. "You are a twit!" She said audibly to the girl filing away at her nails. "Why did either of you sign up then?" Olivia said, looking back and forth from the two Slytherin girls.

Tyler stormed into the muggle studies classroom, late of course. He couldn't believe his mother, it was bad enough he had to take this class but now he had to spend time in the muggleworld. It was obvious his mother either wanted him to kill himself or be taken into azkaban for using magic around muggles. Either way this trip wasn't going to end with a happy ending.
Ty spotted Vanessa and a few other Slytherins and started towards them thankful that he wasn't the only one forced to attend this trip. Tyler sat down next to Vanessa just in time to hear her say something about not cooking for herself. "Don't worry, I'll cook for you Vanessa," he said with a smile. Tyler knew nothing of the muggle word and their inferior ways.

Jac smiled at Olivia and leaned on her desk. Her answer was simple, she said with a little shrug, "Grace." Grace had become a sort of adopted sister since her father died and Grace still had not become accustomed to the magical household so Jac wanted to see what the girl was going on about.
When the door opened Jac turned to see another Slytherin walk in. She rolled her eyes and faced the professor again. She didn't want a rehash of her last class with Slytherins so she kept her mouth tightly shut and her concentration away from the Slytherins. She was certain not all of them were as bad as she gave them to be but guilt till proven otherwise was how Jac looked at it. It was bound to be an interesting fieldtrip.

Russell opened the door and walked into the Muggle Studies class room. He smiled around at everyone before taking a seat. "Sorry I'm late, Professor," Russell said, "got slightly lost." He looked around the room and nodded to Tyler who he had met a few days before. His conversation with Tyler had convinced him to go on the Field trip and so here he was.
He continued to scan the room and his eyes fell on a shy little Hufflepuff who, if he remembered correctly, was worried about treading on his toes. Rus winked at Olivia and he smiled at her. Then he turned to the professor and asked, "is there anything we have to bring, Professor?"
