Antidotes The potion dungeon was always a gloomy place, no natural light ever entered it and so the classes where always conducted under the flicker of candle light, which considering the complexity of some of the potions maybe was not the best idea. But however it was tradition in Hogwarts for this to be the room for potions and who was William Vaid to argue with tradition. And so that is where the Hogwarts Potion Master waited, his feet up on his desk, the chair he sat on was only on its two back legs and a lightening green smoke still filled the room from a potion that had gone wrong the lesson before. Will did not mind however, he continued to bite his thumb nail as he hummed along to the latest hit wizarding song on the wind-up radio that sat on his desk. The chalk board behind him already had today’s topic and instructions written upon it of caldrons out, sit down and shut up! Of course Will meant the last part more as a playful joke but if anyone decided to come in and be all big mouthed then he would be more then willing to take away fifty house points, even if they were from Hufflepuff. Glancing down at his watch Will noticed that class started in ten minutes and so fully expected the first of the students to show up, and that would most likely be around the time his cup of tea would be cool enough to drink. The creak of the old hinges of the door signalled the arrival of the first student and with a small wave the Potions Master dropt his thumb from out his mouth and gave them a proper welcome. “Come on in, get your stuff out and sit down, although you can have ten house points for being the first to arrive!”

Sarie hurried down the hall. She was so happy it was time for potions her best lesson. She wonder what they where going to cover. She hummed as hopped down the steps the dungeon two at a time.
She came into room with the usual sit down and shut up on the board. She smiled at the note and then at the teacher. She waved not really wishing to speak. She was ready for class but no one else was there yet.

Rosa used to enjoy taking potions, it was the subject that she found most fascinating, not only because you got to mix crazy concoctions together that could cause a specific reaction but because her cousin Will was the teacher of the class. Only thing was that the Will she once knew wasn't the same Will she was seeing he was really cruel constantly snapping at everyone. Rosa even heard about his breakup with the charms professor. Rosa wanted to speak to him ask what was wrong, but she feared his reaction so she stayed far away.
Entering the room she put her head down and simply walked to an empty desk. There was of course another girl already there, Rosa knew her to be a Gryffindor, to this girl she simply smiled and then took her things out. Looking up on the board Rosa's eyes widened at the words Will had written.
What was wrong with him? She had no idea but so long as she didn't get the brunt end of it. Realizing that they were working on antidotes Rosa pushed her cauldron in front of her desk waiting for the rest of class to arrive.

[SJ's taken over yet again lol. I'm back ]
It was no secret that he was slightly different of recent, but he was beginning to lift the heavy darkness that had been clouding around him causing him to become some sort of monster and shed chaos wherever he went. It was definately not him, but he was trying to rid the shame and let it go. Sarie entered and she had done a lot of growing up in which Will seemed to of not seen, and it was in this he felt like he had missed an entire chunk of his life. She wasn't the little Sarie Thimble anymore, she had grown and become a young woman. He offered her a small yet empty smile as he gave her 10 points for Gryffindor for being the first to turn up to class.
Staring at his cup of tea for what seemed a few moments, he snapped out of his small awkward phase as he heard the door open once again to reveal his cousin Rosa. He smiled at her awkwardly but his mis-timing of her looking down she missed it. Giving a small sigh, he flicked at the book page absentmindedly as he sneakily watched Rosalind out of the corner of his eye as he pondered on what else he might of missed...
"Good Morning Rosa" he piped up in a low yet friendly voice. He looked up at her and offered another smile before beckoning her towards his desk, sliding his cup along one side and a small stack of old papers the other. "Will you come and see me for a moment please?" he asked gently.

Post by Ricky Daine on Sept 5, 2009 7:38:20 GMT
Ricky made his way down to the potions dungeons, wondering what Vaid was going to make them do today. He pushed open the doors and walked in, didnt bother saying a good morning instead he took a seat furthest from everyone else possible, furthest from Vile Vaid as he'd nicknamed the potions master. About as creative as Ricky allowed himself to get these days. He placed his bag on the table and rested his head in his hands as he called Rosa over, Ricky wished he could just sleep through these lessons. Of course, knowing Ricky if he did, he'd miss something important and then he'd get his arse kicked by Girty when he asked for her help. The thought of the brunette kicking his arse brought a smile to his features. Well, not that she'd never done it before, but he doubted she'd do it whole-heartedly anymore.
He only just realised the instructions were on the board, Ricky gawped open mouthed at it. Love Potions. You have got to be kidding! "Love potions! You're going to test love potions on us! What if our antidote fails! I'd prefer not to follow some random girl with my tongue hanging out panting after them!" Ricky couldnt believe this, surely it was some sick joke. Vaid better have a working antidote in case theirs messed up. He could just imagine himself confessing love to Girty under the influence of the potion and the thought made his stomach churn, for both him and her. This. Was. Bad. Maybe today he should have skipped class, it may have been healthier for him.

Rosa wondered where everyone else was, that class was about to start and so far there were only two students in the room. Part of her didn't really want to be in there with Will, her cousin had been acting odd and part of his new personality scared her. Paige seemed to think that he was simply under a lot of stress and he was just dealing with it badly. Rosa didn't think that was it but she kept her opinion to herself because Paige really looked up to Will. He was somehow like the big brother she always wanted but never had. Rosa was of a different mind all together, it wasn't as if they had grown up with him, he was their relative that was it, she wasn't going to do loop de loops for him. It didn't really matter much it wasn't as if she went seeking him out the way Paige always did.
Another boy entered the room a blonde haired one dressed in Slytherin robes. Rosa didn't really pay him much attention, she was too busy looking at her book reading up on certain potions she found interesting. Rosalind enjoyed potions she thought it was sort of fascinating so she didn't mind all the extra work the class entailed.
She heard her name, and looked up will had been addressing her seeming polite, Rosa had to admit she was a wee bit shocked and perhaps her face reflected that because he called her up to his desk. There's no way she did anything wrong, she had only just gotten there. Getting up slowly she gave a quizzical look to her cousin before walking over. "Yes Professor Vaid" she said in her regular tone of voice.

Post by Harrison Greg on Sept 18, 2010 8:47:43 GMT
This was more Harrison’s lesson, a nice bit of potions to spice up things and as he made his way down the stone staircase into the dungeons he could not help but smile. It was about time they had some proper lessons around here and in his eyes Potions was a proper lesson. It was something that was totally and utterly magical, when muggles pictures witches and wizards it is over cauldrons creating magical concoctions that they would sell on the black market in the muggle world. As a result Harrison was in high spirits as he pushed open the wooden classroom door and strut into the classroom acting like the superstar he thought he was.
However he did not get the reception he always heard in his head and shooting charming smiles at everyone in the room Harrison walked to his table to the sound of cheers and applause that was only in his head. As he jumped down onto the stool he looked around the classroom and as his eyes landed on the chalk board he could not help but grin. Love potions, this could be interesting!

Will smiled as Rosa made her way up to his desk. She looked rather worried and this only made him give one small deep laugh before covering his mouth with his hand for a second to wipe the smile from his face, then he leant against the edge of his desk. "You look like i'm about to shoot you between the eyes" he remarked, managing to hold back a stiffled laugh, before he nudged her arm with his elbow and stood up, pulling out his desk draw and handing Rosa a small brown paper wrapped package. "Your mother sent this to me to give to you, she said you forgot it." he said, pushing the what seemed to be a book shaped package towards her hands.
"Now go sit down before the rest of the students think i'm playing favourites" he smiled, turning back around just in time to see Harrison plonk himself down at his desk. "Ah, Mr.Greg. Now there's the sort of attitude i've been looking forward to seeing today" she smiled at him, beckoning him forward as he stood next to his desk once again.
"Yes Mr.Daine, Love Potions are what we will be concocting today, and if you are somewhat worried that you cannot produce such a potion which should be way below your level of expertise, then perhaps you should be taking extra potions tuition with Headmaster Hubbles, i'm sure you'd love to do that after school hours, wouldn't you?" He smirked mockingly. Of course he was joking, he wouldn't make him take extra lessons, he was sure Ricky's Potion skills would suffice.
"Now then..." he bellowed, clapping his hands together, rubbing them harshly. "Can anyone tell me the ingredients we need to make a love potion?"

Post by Aria Levesque on Jan 3, 2012 16:10:44 GMT
Aria was feeling rather groggy today. That probably has to do with the fact that she spent most of the night awake trying to read through one of her favorite books. It was a wonder she didn't have bags under her eyes. She probably should have done this during the weekend when she didn't actually have to get up early to go to classes, but Aria never really liked to do what she was supposed to she often did whatever she wanted at least when it came to things like reading which was something she loved to do. When the clock went off that morning Aria pressed the snooze button more times than she could count and she would have kept on doing it if her suite-mate hadn't said something to her which sounded a lot like "get the hell up"...Hmm how rude she remembered thinking but she got up none the less because she did need to get a start on the day. It wasn't anyone elses fault that she thought she could burn the midnight oil trying to read.
It was a bit of a slow start that was for sure she seemed to take forever to do just about everything it seemed like breakfast in the Great Hall was almost over by the time she had gotten down there so she had to scarf down some food. After almost choking on a piece of toast Aria had to run up from her seat and make it to her first class. Okay as much as she enjoyed a good book she enjoyed sleep a little bit more.
Most of the day was spent in some sort of daze so when it was finally time for potions class she was bleary eyed and ready for the day to be over already. Even the sight of Professor Vaid didn't make her feel any better as she went and took her seat. The only thing that seemed to have gotten her attention was the fact that they would be working on love potions. She perked up for a minute but then she sat back once the professor started to ask questions, her brain wasn't functioning enough to ask questions.
Hopefully this class would move along...
