Ash glared slightly at Ellie. He understood her desire to keep the mood light and happy, but sometimes that just wasn’t possible. Besides, she wasn’t even supposed to hear that. Girl must have supersonic hearing or something .
“Ok, first off, you must have freakishly good hearing; because you were not supposed to hear that. Second, I’m sorry if I’m ruining your little happy-fest, but I’m serious. Something just does not feel right. I’m not claiming to know what will happen or when, but I just have a feeling that something will. “ Ash sighed and glanced around the pub with his eyes.
“Besides,” he continued, “It doesn’t matter if this is a little celebration or a huge party or whatever, we need to be on our guard at all times. I’m not saying sit here with our wands out and stuff, we’d look ridiculous, just be aware of your surroundings.”
He knew he was being a little harsh, but he honestly didn’t care. They couldn’t live their whole lives in the dark. They had to be aware of what was going on around them. Some would call him paranoid with the way he was acting, but with his past, he preferred to think of it as cautious.

Jac could hardly believe that there would soon be a little Hubbles joining their happy, if slightly dysfunctional family. It would be so great to have a little baby to play with and spoil, though she was sure that Dan would do that well enough without anyone else's help. Didn't mean that she wouldn't try.
Ash's voice broke into Jac's thoughts. "Hmm," Jac sounded at his worries. She wasn't sure what he was on about but she'd leave him to it. Jac turned to Ginny, Grace and Girty, smiling broadly at her. "It's been too long since we got together," she said, her hair flushing a bright purple. "I've missed you kids. What's everyone been up to?"
She just caught what was passing between Ellie and Ash. Jac's hair became it's usual yellow-orange as she listened to Ash's retort. She took a sip of her drink and chipped in her three cents. "Relax, Ash," Jac said clapping her hand on his shoulder. "We've got an Auror here to keep us all safe." Turning to the table at large, she added. "I found out today that I've passed my final test. You are now looking at-" Jac stood up and held her hands up, palms to the sky, so they could all see everything she was "-Jadya-Ann Catherine Shaw, Auror, graduated top of her class!"
Jac beamed at the assembled. She could not have been prouder of herself. She'd not seem many of them for the last three years with as much frequency as she would have liked because she had been working so hard. And finally she had achieved her goal. Finally, she had made it. The hard work did not stop there, she knew that and was ready for it too. "So buck up, champ," Jac chuckled, looking at Ash as she sat down, "I've got everything covered." She grinned widely at him and winked. "So relax, have another drink, enjoy yourself."

The clock chimed, and another hour had passed by with Stella hiding out. So far, nothing to out of the plan had happened to make Stella fret that she would fail her task. Failure wasn't an option, so whatever came up, whoever showed up, it didn't matter. Stella would have to complete her task and doing the Dark Lord's bidding. It was not out of fear. Stella wanted to do it for him, to show him how she was capable, to show her loyalty. The pain she no doubt would feel if she failed would be well deserved. She would have earned it in her failure.
Stella had made sure that the group had consumed plenty of alcohol. After all, it was a happy occasion, they should take advantage of the opportunity. However, Stella was growing impatient. The chimes of the bells reminded her that she was losing time. She needed to act.
It seemed as though the next seconds were in slow motion. Stella savored the beginning of the end. She crawled out from under the table, and instantly returned to her human form. Stella's eyes, illuminated by dark black makeup, seemed to glow as she raised her wand and fired a curse at the table to through the group off guard. As they scattered, which Stella was sure they would, she raised her wand and with a joyius laugh emitted the signal.
A red light, dark and bloodly, erupted from her wand. It quickly filled the room and the seemed to escape out the windows and under the doors, through the cracks, and up the walls. The light emerged out into the streets of Hogsmeade, filling the air with a bloody red color. Within seconds the signal was set. If flew out, encompassing Hogsmeade until Stella was sure that they were on thier way.
Now she would just have to wait. Hold out for a few seconds before her friends would join her. Again she laughed, a wild smile on her face and she placed herself into perfect dueling form. Her wand was gently lifted about her head and pointed at the group. Stella smartly didn't single anyone out just yet, but the first person to move would get a face full she was sure of that.
"Hello there." She said, as the silence was deafening. "I have a little message for all of you." She said, holding back a giggle. "Run!" She said as the first crack followed by plenty of others sounded in the bar. They had come.

Post by Harrison Greg on Jan 21, 2012 8:03:56 GMT
Harrison felt rather content standing around with this friends group of people. He was not that ambitious in life, Harri wanted a good, well paid job but didn’t everyone? He also wanted a happy life and right now he knew that happiness was going to come from Miss Ellie Rook. In a way, Harri idolised the position Dan Hubbles was in. An important job, a great group of friends and a beautiful wife! What more could any man want? Even as these thoughts passed through he mind an announcement was made that sent everyone into a tizzy, especially his date.
Harrison watched with a bemused smile as Ellie went around the group hugging the Hubbles clan (even Girty) and then she did something completely unexpected and started to cry! “You are too cute.” He muttered as she wondered back over too him, He wrapped an arm instinctively around her and kissed the top of her head. He loved having the chance to be close to her and as she cuddled up closer Harri could feel his heart rate quicken. “Neh, not insane just…” Harri paused for comedic affect. “Yeah, they think you insane.”
He gave a slight chuckle as he felt Ellie cosy up to him more, this was turning out better then he could have hoped, maybe one day Ellie would agree that despite her protests this was better then sitting awkwardly opposite each other by themselves. However the happy atmosphere suddenly turned a little bit tense when Ellie heard Ash mutter something to Professor Hubbles and both she and Jac jumped down the old Ravenclaw’s throat. Harrison thought he would stay out of it, more afraid of what a newly qualified Aura would do to him if he sided with the wrong team.
"Thank you. For getting me out of the bloody castle."
“You’re very much welcome Ellie.” Harrison grinned as Ellie thanked him, “It was not a chore I can tell you that I…I love spending time with you.” It was a rare moment that Harrison Greg stutters mid sentence or at a loss at what to say but Ellie seemed to have that affect on him, she seemed to bring out a different side to his personality…not the fake side of a macho Gryffindor that he portrait to everyone else.
That was when it happened…when chaos seemed to ring out as the table where all their drinks where sitting exploded into millions of tiny shards of wood and glass. Instinctively with one hand Harrison reached for his wand and the other he took hold of Ellie’s hand making sure he would not lose her in the crowds of people in the pub who were now running for the door. They had clocked who had cast the spell Harrison only noticed the notorious dark witch Stella Harper as she approached the gaggle of friends. His grip around his wand tightened and the Gryffindors eyes shifted nervously from the dark witch to the Headmaster of his school…surly Hubbles would be able to sort this out…

This was perfect! Dan could think of no better way to spend an evening, just think he was going to stay in and do paperwork all night. Where is the fun in that?! Dia sat happily chatting to their friends, Girty was still mumbling something about being an Aunt, Ellie was snuggling up to Harrison (not that Dan cared or anything…) and Jac was playfully teasing Ash. With a wide grin Dan leaned back in his chair and looked over the scene with a broad grin feeling like the cat that got the cream. That was when Ash leaned over towards him and muttered something about having a bad feeling.
“It will be the drink bud.” Dan said this statement as if it was fact. “Being the Emo that you are I bet you have not eaten since last Saturday.” He was only teasing and knew Ash would not take it personally however it seemed both Ellie and Jac took little jabs at him too and the ex-Ravenclaw snapped and argued back to Ellie. “Whoa! Guys, we just shared our happy news and your ruining it by arguing…save it for tomorrow if you have a score to settle, tonight it for drinking and celebrating the little Hubbles and Jac becoming an Auror!”
Dan lifted his almost empty glass and nodded is head in the direction of Jac to signify his congratulations on her passed the training. He always knew she could do it and he knew how much it meant to her…however that was one of the last thing’s Dan did with a table in front of him as before he knew it the table seemed to explode right in front of him showering him with debris and liquid.
“Bloody hell! Ellie, Ashton I told you to hold off till…” However Dan never got to finish his sentence as it dawned on him it was neither of the two in front of him who had cast the curse at the table. The pub gained an eerie glow as red light from outside oozed in through the dirty windows…something wasn’t right.
Dan slowly stood up in the attention to look outside, his head spinning a bit from all the alcohol he had consumed in such a short space of time, but he never got outside either as that was when he saw a familiar face walking over towards him. Not that he had ever personally met this individual in question but he had seen her face plastered all over posters and in the news papers.
“You have no right to threaten me or any of my friends.” Dan stated as sternly as he could, he was slipping back into protective headmaster mode and without even realising he took a couple of steps to the side to position himself in front of Dia. No one was going to harm her or their baby! Reaching into his pocket Dan pulled out his wand and cocked an eyebrow as he looked over at the witch. It was then when the sound of cracks and sizzles filled the now almost empty pub as more of her ‘friends’ appeared. Dan knew what he had to do; he would have to make the first move and he pointed his wand directly at Stella.
“Expelliarmus!”

Post by Nicholas McNiven on Jan 21, 2012 8:16:20 GMT
McNiven kept flipping the small bit of parchment over and over in his fingers as he sat in a dusty, mouldy room of another run down house he was squatting in. The note had been from Stella Harper, the Dark Lord’s favourite (or at least that’s how she liked to see it) and it was his subscription notice into the up coming war. The last time he had any contact with ‘those’ people was in the meeting with the Dark Lord where by attending McNiven had nailed his colours to the wall. The acts of desperate men may not be the wisest and every now and again that niggling thought in his head would arise that maybe he had made the wrong choice…
Who was he kidding? He was on the run from the Ministry and it would be ridiculous to go on the run from the Dark Lord too. Anyway if the Dark Lord’s plan did work out then that would be the side to be on and if he didn’t…well he might as well go back on the run as he had nothing in his life anymore. With a deep sigh McNiven pulled his cloak tightly around him and apparated into a dark ally in Hogsmeade and waiting for the signal to appear.
McNiven had been sitting by a rubbish bin picking at an old chicken wing he had found when the night sky filled with red…that was the signal. It has begun!
Drawing his wand in preparation McNiven apparated once again right into the heart of the Hogshead pub! He found himself standing on a near by table to Stella (how dramatic, so unlike him) and it seemed he had arrived just in time as their target for the evening was about to fire a spell in the witches direction. With a flick of his wand McNiven deflected the spell away from Stella instead sent it in the direction of the bar, smiling in delight as he heard the sound of glass smashing.
“It seems I arrived just in time lassie” McNiven shouted over at Stella as he fired a curse off in the direction of the group, aiming in particular for the short girl who he had sworn he had seen entering the Ministry of Magic on many occasions on his more adventurous trips when he had tried to find out what had happened to Quinn Locksley. It was his obsession…but when you have nothing you need something to cling onto and that was his. Maybe she was an auror…maybe she wasn’t all McNiven knew was that he hated the Ministry!

Ellie was surprised at the reaction she got from Harrison as she sat down. She leaded into him as he wrapped an arm around her, and she felt his kiss on her forehead. Ellie beamed. After having what she would consider an emotional breakdown, it was good to have something solid behind her.
Ellie had not had very many interactions with Ash lately and she had forgotten how nice it was not to have him around. However, before Ellie could get to hotheaded, Jac intervened. It was hard not to smile as Jac announced her new title as Auror. Ellie was about to wish her congratulations when Dan stepped in and reprimanded the group. He did have a point. This was a happy occasion, and it was not the time and place for a fight. Ellie cooled her jets and nuzzled back up to Harrison. "Sorry Da-uhh Professor." Ellie said with a smile. "Hear that Ash, Jac will tackled anyone who threatens this happy little party." Ellie turned the Jac. "I'm assuming that means Ash isn't above the law." Ellie said with a cheeky smirk.
Ellie settled back into her conversation with Harrison. Ellie beamed at his response. "Really?" She said with a wide smile, the butterflies in her stomach waging war on her insides. "I love spending time with you too." Ellie said, knowing that it wasn't much like Harrison to say anything affectionate. However, to Ellie it was not weird, it fit into who she knew he was on the inside. With that, Ellie desperately felt like she needed to be closer to him, and she let her feelings over whelm her. She was sure she was going to kiss him, in front of everyone, even Dan, but she didn't have the opportunity.
The explosion set debris flying everywhere. Ellie felt a piece of glass slice her forehead sending blood into her eye. She let out a small scream. She heard Dan protesting her and Ash. "It wasn't me! You think I would blow up..." Then Ellie regained her composure. Her eyes opened as she brushed the blood out of them. She felt her hand being held by Harrison. She was now standing, and she reached her for own wand as she looked around.
She recognized the face of the woman that had hunted her in the forbbiden forest the year before. It was much cleaner, and obviously more well fed, but Ellie would never forget those eyes. She glared as she raised her wand in defense and pointed it at the woman. She must have said something that Ellie had missed inthe confusion of her thoughts, but Dan retaliated. He sent a disarming charm her direction, but the second he did, Ellie knew that this was not the time for simple charms.
She was right, and with a flash, a large number of people flooded into the Hogshead. One was right behind Ellie and Harrison and Ellie pulled him so they were back to back, Ellie facing the ragged man now in front of her. She peeked over her shoulder to see another atop the table next to that horrible woman. He had blocked Dan's charm. Ellie's breath was caught in her throat. She looked back and forth to see all that was going on. She held her wand up defensively ready to attack. It seemed they were in a stand off. Ellie waited for an order. She didn't know what to do. She still gripped Harrison's hand as costumers ran out of the pub. It was obvious that their little group was the main target for this attack.

Stella laughed as the pub became a colony of ants running for the exits. Her cackle was shortly interrupted by the defiant words of a red haired man. Hubbles. This was the man she was going to kill. She looked deeply into his eyes as he spoke out against her. Her face grew serious. She soaked in the blue gaining access to his soul. She wanted to see him before the light she found was gone forever.
Stella resumed her hideous laughter as he finished. She was over come with the hilarity of the idea that he was going to hurt her. Caught off guard for the second, she didn't have time to dive out of the way of the charm he sent her way. Luckily, McNiven was quick on his feet and sent the spell flying, hitting some random witch cowering in the back corner. Stella laughed at the idea. "Right in time indeed." She said, raising her wand again. She looked up at him, and then without warning the stalemate ended...
"Crucio!"
The spell was cast directly at Hubbles. She watched the faces of those around him. The few brave who had chosen to stay and fight. Stella counted about ten. Luckily about seven of the dark lords followers had shown up, and they were doing a good job of keeping the little heroes at bay. Simple enough, especially since two were just students and one of them could barely walk. Stella released her spell, and before Hubbles do anything, Stella quickly grabbed Hubble's wife, and pulled her out of her chair and away from the group. She quickly disarmed the Astronomy professor, and threw her back. Stella's wand arm was wrapped around Dia's neck, her wand pointing directly at her heart. Stella's back was now to the wall, Dia in front of her as a shield. Dia struggled to get loose, but Stella, as small framed as she looked, was strong. Stella laughed Dia kicked.
"Hmmm...what do I have here?" Stella pressed her wand harder into Dia's chest. "Keep still." She snapped as she tighten her grip around her throat. "Danny... oh Danny-boy." Stella baited.
[OCC: So I said that there were about seven bad guys. That includes Stella and McNiven. Feel free to fight off some bad guys that aren't played by anyone, just don't over do the number like..."Sixteen guys came running toward Dan and with his bare hands he karate chopped them to pieces like a beast..." cause we all know Dan is a beast... oh and sorry Liz that I kinda godmodded Dia a bit...]

Jac felt like she was right back at school, finding herself once again in the Headmaster's office, him chastising her for disobeying some or other school rule. She didn't care for these lectures much then and she cared for it less now. She was an auror, she shouldn't have to stand for this sort of treatment. She could arrest him on the spot for something or other, she was certain of it. As this though flashed through her mind, her hair flashed a hot, angry red. It quickly returned to its current yellow-orange when she heard Ellie's stretched out apology. Jac snickered and winked at the Hufflepuff when she looked her way.
"Damn straight," Jac chuckled, taking another sip of her drink. It was half full now, as she always saw things, and her anger from moments before had past and was forgotten. This was the way with Jac: quick to anger, quicker to get over it. Jac looked Ashton up and down, a playful smile dancing in the corner of her mouth. "You know you're not, Ashy," Jac chimed before she saw Dan's nod to her. Jac lifted her own glass to him in thanks and took another sip.
The auror looked down at the content of her glass, leaning both her elbows on the table. She swirled the golden liquid around for a moment, thoughful, quiet. It was good to be with friends and (practically) family again. She could not understand why she had been putting this off for so long. Sure, her studies were important to her, however these people were too. How could she ever have thought that her studies were more important than them? Jac looked around the table at the assembled: Dia and Dan, sitting close and looking as happy as the day they got hitched; Girty, Grace and Ginny, Jac's favourite G's; heck, even Ash. A tranquil smile settled on the young witch's face.
It was gone in an instant: the instant the table exploded under her elbows, sending Jac over the back of her chair. From her back, Jac looked up at the woman who greeted them so sardonically, feeling an instant throbbing in her head from where it had struck the floor. She did not wait for their attacker to finish talking. Jac quickly got her feet under her and pushed herself up. Her hair blazed into fiery red that matched the beads of blood that began to dot her cheeks and neck from the shrapnel from the table.
The pub suddenly became filled with angry looking witches and wizards. Pulling out her wand, Jac sent a few spells off in the newcomers' directions. Not sticking around to see if they hit, the auror quickly unceremoniously shoved the three G's behind an overturned table. "Move," she hissed under her breath, "and stay here." Jac ducked out from behind the table, shooting a spell at a short, balding man. It hit him square in the chest and suddenly he was covered in horrible, bursting boils.
Another wizard came in through the door and Jac whipped her wand, sending a chair smashing into his face. She moved quickly, trying to get behind the witch who had started it all. "Serpensortia." Jac threw a snake at a witch who had just appeared on the bar counter. "Oppugno," she added, enchanting the snake to attach the witch. The auror was focused elsewhere.
The witch was quick though and suddenly had her back against the wall and Dia by the throat. Jac froze in her tracks. She stared for a moment, trying to think. She had Dia too close for Jac to be able to attack her without injuring Dia. It was not a risk the auror was willing to make, especially not with a little Hubbles in the oven.
"Petrificus Totalus," Jac shot at the witch creeping up on her. Jac's red-hot eyes left the witch holding Dia for only a moment. As they looked back to the witch, Jac spoke in a low voice, lower than was usual: it was strained and her anger was barely contained.
"Let. Her. Go."

It all happened so fast. One minute they were all sitting around the table. laughing, joking, arguing a little, Ash and Ellie were being scolded by Dan; Ash rolled his eyes at another comment that Ellie made. Then, they were being attacked. A woman, dark hair, dark eyes, seemed to appear out of nowhere. Her entire being screamed 'Evil'
A blood-red light shot from her wand filling the room, and escaping out the doors and windows, several cracks were heard, it was obviously a signal. She gave a giggle, which seemed horrifying coming from her, and told them to run.
This is not good. So not good. he thought to himself. And it really, really wasn't. A man appeared next. He seemed familiar, though Ash could not place a name. Not that it mattered; names were irrelevant at this point. All he cared about right now, was that his friends, Ellie included, were under attack. And that was something that Ash was definitely not ok with.
Much to Ash's horror, but unfortunately not surprise, the woman who had attacked was using Dia as a shield. However, he saw that Jac was dealing with it and knew she was more than capable. He'd just hinder her.
Somehow he made his way over to where Girty, Grace, and Ginny had been shoved behind an overturned table. "Well, so much for a relaxing evening. This sure is exciting, isn't it?" he quipped with a slightly cheeky grin. Yeah, trust Ash to make a joke at a time like this.
He sobered up quickly enough though. "This is not good. Who the hell is that woman anyway?"

There were a number of initial emotions that went running through Dan Hubbles mind the money he saw his wife being dragged away by that mad woman and a wand being pointed directly at her heart. At first he felt pure hatred and anger but that rather quickly subsided and instead turned into complete and utter fear! What should a person do in a situation like this? The closest Dan ever truly came to having a duel was drunken brawls where his challenger was as drunk as he was and the only thing there was to loose was pride. This…this was the life and well being of his wife and child!
The sound of Stella’s laughter echoed in his mind and not even the sounds of spells, explosions and screams could cancel it out. Dan slowly lowered his wand in a sign of peace but Jac had already jumped into action and challenged the Dark Witch. The headmaster felt his whole body tense up as he looked over at Jac and then back to Dia, he could feel his heart pounding so hard it was like it was trying to break free from his chest.
“Jac…” His mouth was bone dry, it felt like his tongue had swollen up in his mouth and even the simplest of words were hard to form, he could find no more words. He locked his eyes upon his wife’s and the fear that was in his was mirrored in her own. This was not a game and they both knew one wrong move could be fatal.
Dan knew what he had to do, it was clearly he she wanted, he needed to do this to protect his family.
“Harper!” His voice was sharp and strong. He had somehow managed to find some courage from somewhere. “It’s me you want. Let Dia go and we can settle this properly”

Stella held back as Dia struggled some more. She couldn't help but smile as she watched the fight ensue before her. She knew that she was safe for the moment with Dia clutched to her body. There was a lull in the fighting as a witch step forward, pointing a wand toward her and Dia. Stella laughed.
"Hmm, you seem to have Auror training. You can always tell." She winked at the witch. "Did they train you for hostage situations at the ministry Auror? Are you going to try to talk me into letting her go by bringing up emotional pain from the past and getting me to regret my life choices? Or tell me that I have a choice?" Stella said, her voice beginning to quiver. "We both know that I do not have a choice. The is what he wants."
Stella was breathing hard. The excitement was making her fingers tingle. She tighten her grip on the wand at Dia's throat to make sure she wouldn't drop it in giddy excitement. It was then that Dan stepped forward.
"Ah Danny-boy." Stella said, the smile returning to her face. She laughed at his words as they hit Stella. "Is it you that I want. Or do I really want her?" Stella said with a smirk. She looked around at all the faces that were now turned toward her and her prisoner. She cleared her throat and shouted for all to hear.
"This is a the beginning. I bring tidings from the new Dark Lord. He will soon be known to all of you. Don't think that you are safe. No matter what, if you resist his wishing, you will suffer. Not only you will suffer, but you family will suffer."
Stella kissed Dia on the cheek. An evil grin forming as she looked back at Dan. "Let this be a warning to you Dan Hubbles, and to all your friends." Stella held the smile for a moment, never breaking eye contact with Dan. Then, she sprang to action. She let go of Dia and pushed her up against a wall hard. Her wand arm flung around, gaining momentum as she screamed "AVADA KEDAVRA!!"
The green light hit Dia square in the chest as she tried to regain her footing. The light from her eyes flew away. Her body slumped down the wall and rested on the wooden floor of the pub beneath her. Stella then turned, waiting for Hubbles. Little did he and his friends know that that was not the warning she was instructed to give. That was just a little side show before the main act. She waited for Dan to rush to his wife, and then she would have him.

She had come out eexpecting some alone time away from her brothers. She had been dying for it, but when she got to the pub she could see that was not meant to be so she embraced the fact that she had run into some old friends and chose to make a night of it with them. hell it had gotten her out of the house and she was actually enjoying herself with old friends not to mention she now had the inside scoop on Dan and Dia's good news. Not that she had any intention of going around and telling everyone it was just nice to know something before everyone else. Coming from such a huge family and being the youngest she was often kept out of the loop "for her own good" as her mother liked to say. So hearing this before anyone in her family was a nice change if pace since most of them were quite fond of the Hubbles'. Her mom would have kittens when she heard.
Ginny was actually enjoying herself listening to everything going on around her, catching up with Grace whom she had always really liked. The night looked to be pretty promising Ginny was thinking maybe they could keep it going a very long while since there was so much catching up to do and a lot of celebrating in order, plus it would mean she could stay away from the twins a while longer. Oh yeah she was all for it.
Ginny had been so consumed with her own thoughts that she had failed to realize that something was amiss in the pub. Smiling, talking, and having a good time would do that to you. So when the shit hit the fan miss Weasley was caught totally off guard. She ducked for cover under a table that had been flipped over as curses started flying all around them. What in the blue blazes was happening. One minute everyone sash having a good old time and now they were fearing for their stinking lives. This couldn't be happening, why was this happening? Taking out her wand Ginny took a peak around the table to try and asess what was going on, from what she could see these bad guys had a hard on for Hubbles. Ginny's heart started to beat rapidly as she looked to those around her, even Ashton had joined them behind the table. Ginny looked at him stunned "what the hell is going on"she asked as if he had knowledge she did not.

As much as Girty appreciated the act of bravery and thoughtfulness that Jac clearly showed by shoving her behind the table it was clear to Girty that she could not simply hide and let everyone else fight! Especially when the whole attack seemed to be aimed at her brother! Both Ginny and Ashton both asking what was going on and the Hufflepuff couldn’t help but get a bit tetchy. “What do you think is happening?” She snapped. “Their trying to kill us!”
Pulling her wand out from her knee high socks Girty launched herself out from behind the table. Straight away she had to dodge a curse which had been fired by one of the many clocked figures and then had to deflect anything. None of the lessons at Hogwarts would ever prepare anyone for a situation like this. Her heart was pounding faster then during a full moon and it was fear that powered her limbs rather then the adrenaline of bravery. The sight of Dia in the clutches of that made woman Girty’s blood boil, who could be that cruel?
Dan and Jac where already in a face off with that evil witch and as Girty gripped onto her wand she didn’t know what to do. Should she try and take out a couple of the cloaked figures or try and save Dia…but then the worst happened, nothing mattered anymore, nothing now that green flash filled the low light pub.
“NOOOOOO!”
What could be done? What could be said? All the youngest Hubbles could do was stand and stare as she watched her sister in law slump to the dirty, stained floor of the pub. A shiver ran down her spine as the sheer nature of the situation dawned on her and her hazel eyes quickly darted to her brother…

The bitter metallic taste of blood filled Dan’s mouth, he had not realised how much his front teeth has buried themselves into his bottom lip. He did not feel the pain, the tickle of blood that rolled down his chin nor the stinging of tears in his eyes. Nothing else mattered now; nothing else would ever matter again.
Dia was dead and he did nothing to stop it.
It felt like every ounce of energy had been sapped out of his body and all he wanted to do was fall to the floor and join his wife in the peaceful sleep. However after he raised his head his tear blurred vision fell upon Stella, just looking at her smug little face changed Dan’s mind. The red mist fully descended and he dived at Stella!
He heard Girty fire a deflective charm; he did not know where for, he didn’t care all he wanted to do was slam his now clenched fist into the side of that evil bitch’s face! Yes he was turning into muggle violence, pure animal brutality but he didn’t care. His prime mate instincts were kicking in and he didn’t want to use a stick which fired out sparks to do his bidding, he wanted Stella to feel the wrath of a mourning husband and father.
Dan clouted into the side of Stella and they both went tumbling to the ground in a mass of limbs. Dan felt his wand slip from his hands and skid along the wooden floor but he didn’t care, he quickly scrambled to his knees and threw a wild punch at Stella. The headmaster felt the skin on his knuckles crack as he made contact with the side of her face and he quickly raised his fist up again to strike once more but he never got that far
