Well no, that’s a lie. The rule is that something must happen in every post to move the thread along even if it is the stupidest thing like they are sucked into a vortex and end up in Africa! Just do the first thing that comes to you head no matter how random!
Other then that…there are no rules! You may enter whenever you like, do whatever you like and the main thing is have fun
*** It was Christmas, and as per Christmas tradition Dan Hubbles was wondering around the now less crowded corridors of Hogwarts with a rather tatty looking Santa hat that had flashing red lights going around its furry rim. Cheap muggle tat but Dan enjoyed it. The proud Hogwarts Headmaster was strutting his stuff down the third floor corridor, his hands stuffed into his trouser pockets and his long black robes billowing behind him as he whistled the hit Christmas song buy the Weird Sisters ‘Rocking around the frozen pumpkin patch’. He was just about to come to his favourite part in the song when it goes on about a Hippogriff that get’s its head stuck in a pumpkin when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
Dan came to a sudden stop and did a small little spin on the spot as he studied one of the many paintings that hung on the walls down the many corridors of the Hogwarts castle. A frown crinkled his brow as he studied the snow covered hill sided that reminded Dan of the countryside just outside the castle grounds. There was nothing spectacular about this particular painting but for some reason Dan was hypnotised and he could not tare his gaze away.
That was of course until he felt someone tap his shoulder which awoke him from his trance….but even days later Dan would not be able to tell you who tapped him on the shoulder as when he spun around all he saw was a flash of light, a rather hard whack to his head and before he knew it Dan found himself sitting on the cold, snow covered ground of the very hill side in the painting.
“I knew I should have put my thermals on this morning.”

Christmas. The most tiring time of the year. The days before the holidays always brought out the worst in the students. With school work dwindiling down for most, fun and games seemed to replace them. Instead of going to classes, students seemed to run wild in the halls.
Ellie passed the giant Christmas Trees in the Great Hall as she made her way down toward the library so she could finish up her last essay of the year. The halls were so crowded, but Ellie just ignored all the illegal hallway activity letting wizbangs and all other sorts of things fly over her head. She just wanted to finish this paper so she could relax before the holidays, even though she would be spending them at Hogwarts for the second year in a row.
Just outside the doors of the library, something caught Ellie's eye. There seemed to be a new painting on the wall. Ellie had walked down the corridor and entered the library enough times to know that there was usually a painting of a gnome riding a flamingo just outside the doors. However, now there was a snowy expanse that seemed oddly familiar to the Hogwarts grounds. Ellie shrugged and looked away, but couldn't break her gaze from the painting. Suddenly, someone pushed her from behind and Ellie was falling.
Ellie couldn't have fallen from too high, because she hit something hard just seconds later. Whatever she hit collapse underneath her. In a mix of cold snow, arms, legs, and more snow, Ellie scrambled to get to her feet. She wiped the snow out of her eyes and slipped to fall to her knees. Looking up, Ellie saw not only a snowy hill, but Professor Daniel Hubbles next to her.

If there was a choice of being at home for another boring old Christmas where his parents will be keeping an annoying close watch on him or the freedom of Hogwarts then the castle would get it ever single time. The great thing about Christmas was that hardly anyone was around so it meant Zachary could sit on the rooftops smoking his favourite pipe weed or even slip some potent smelling drink into a first years pumpkin juice for the hilarity of it all. It was no surprise then for anyone who knew of Zach that by midday on this holiday he was alright slightly intoxicated so you can imagine the look of pure amazement on his face when he watched not one but two people being sucked into a painting.
Quickly, well as quickly as he could considering how the world spun around him, Zach arose from the corner he was slumped in and made a somewhat straight line to the painting that seemed to have such magical powers. As he squinted at the snow covered hill side he could see two little fingers sitting in the snow, but that was all he saw before he felt an all mighty thumb at the back of his head. “Bloody hell!”
The next thing Zach could remember was a face full of snow and the ever too familiar taste of blood filling his mouth. With a slight groan the Gryffindor rolled over onto his side and spat down on the ground, staining the pure white ground with crimson. This did not bother Zach too much, the fact that he was now on a snow covered hill side instead of the castle did not bother him either, the part that really got to the Gryffindor was that he was face to face with the head girl and worse of all the headmaster.
“I ain’t drunk Proff!” The Gryffindor quickly tried to scramble to his feet only to slip over almost immediately. “Honest gov.” He shot his best smile to the Hufflepuff, most likely looking like a beaten up boxer rather then a prince charming.

Many strange things have happened to Dan Hubbles over his years at Hogwarts both as a student and professor but this was definitely the top ten. He would never have guessed when he got up this morning that he would be spending it on a snow covered hill side, heck if he knew that he would have stayed in bed! Breathing in the cold winter air Dan let out a long sigh as he tried to recover his senses and work out what he was going to do from here. However he did not get to follow that train of thought as just as quickly as when he fell through the portrait something flattened him to the ground. A face full of brown hair covered his eyes and Dan got the distinctive smell of a familiar shampoo.
What happened next surprised Dan greatly, his heart did this weird sort of leap as he knew that the person trying to quickly scramble off him was non other then Ellie Rook. “Ellie!” The stupid grin that filled Dan’s face betrayed him as he could not help but show to the world his affection towards Ellie. Thank god they were alone!
“Thank God your hear.” Dan slid over on his knees towards Ellie, taking hold of her hands and leaning in to kiss Ellie. However their alone time did not last long as the sound of another dull thud in the snow followed by a groan was like an electric shock causing Dan to leap away from Ellie faster then lightening.
“I would never accuse a student of anything of the like Mr Maxwell.” Dan stated, giving the Gryffindor a sideward’s glance. “How did you two end up here then? Did you….”
But Dan never got to finish his question as a high-pitched scream rang out around the hill side chilling Dan to the very bone. “Wh-what was that?”

Ellie returned his smile. It was strange that she wasn't worried at all about the fact that she had just gotten sucked into a painting. Her and Dan were alone, and that was a rare occasion.
An occasion that didn't last very long. Ellie jumped back as their moment was ruined by yet another body flinging out of nowhere. "Seriously." Ellie said, as she realized who it was. How many times had Ellie caught Zachary Maxwell in various placing with a smoke trail behind him. Not only did Ellie think his habit was absolutely disgusting but it annoyed the crap out of her that she couldn't do anything about it because by the time Ellie stopped being annoyed, he was always gone. "Don't believe him so easily." She said rolling her eyes, crossing her arms, half in disgust from the smile, and half because it was really cold.
Ellie was trying to think of what to tell Dan, after all, she had no idea how she ended up here. Here thought process was completely derailed but the scream. Ellie jumped closer to Dan, grabbing his arm. The scream was horrible, gut wrenching. Ellie wasn't sure she wanted to know where it was coming from and what was causing such a scream.
As the scream subsided, Ellie looked up at Dan. Her smile was gone. "I think our good track record of staying out of the hospital wing just ended."
The wind blew, the snow caught up with it making it hard to see. Ellie shivered. She guessed that Dan and Zachary were freezing as well. "We can't stay here. I don't think that we are going to magically find our way out of this storm and back to Hogwarts. I hate to say it, but I think we should walk that way." Ellie said, pointing her finger in the direction of the horrible scream.
