Harrison Greg threw open the doors to the Great Hall and looked around with his head held high and a glint in his eyes. The enchanted ceiling of the hall was of the purest of blue mimicking the beautiful sky outside (of course it was a dam lot warmer in the castle then it was outside) and the badge pinned to the robe of Harrison was looking as polished as ever. His blue eyes surveyed the long house tables as he looked for a place to sit; he looked at all four as due to his belief of being Head Boy he should be able to sit wherever he liked! It was clear from the low noise level that it was quiet empty and in fact as Harri looked down at his wrist watch he saw that lunch had only just started. As a result his choice on table would not be swayed by who was present, more where would cause the most trouble and annoyance?
The Ravenclaw’s would have their noses stuck in their textbooks to even notice that he was present on their table, the Gryffindor table…well that was just boring, and the Hufflepuff table would increase the chances of him being able to sit next to Ellie! A small smile spread across his face at the thought of that particular Hufflepuff. Honestly what had happened to him! Harrison Greg used to be the Gryffindor toy boy, the guy who would date anything with a heart beat if it meant he could have a quick snog and maybe a bit of a playful fumble. But now, oh lord, now it was almost as if he was getting feelings and starting to be attracted to people for normal reasons! The inner flirt in him shuddered and as a result he decided it best not to approach that particular table so…ah, so that would leave the snake house!
Sitting at the Slytherin table would cause some trouble and maybe cause a bit of a shouting match where he could take away points…yeah maybe he would go and sit with the snakes. And so it was with a small chuckle and a spring in his step Harri walked over to the table on the far side of the Great Hall and plonked himself down in the middle of the table, giving a few of the Slytherin’s who were already present on the table a wide grin.
“Party at the Slytherin table huh?!” He teased as he raised a glass of pumpkin juice and gave them a mocking toast with his glass.

Ellie was having a great day. Despite the fact that she hadn't gotten more then four hours of sleep, it seemed as if the sun was just smiling down on her. She had woken up feeling groggy, but her morning shower had woken her up. Perhaps she was just running on adrenaline at this point, but Ellie was just in a good mood.
It had been a while since Ellie was in a good mood. It seemed that she had been letting things get to her lately, all the stress build up. For one day, however, she seems to be able to just let it all go.
A class and a test on the properties of various swamp plants in potions, Ellie was headed to an early lunch. She was feeling a little bit more tired, like she needed a good afternoon nap, but besides that, her good mood had lasted through class, which said a lot. She walked in the Great Hall, her bag slipping slightly from her shoulder. Her robes billowed out softly as she walked toward the Hufflepuff table. A few students gathered in little clumps were placed around the table. They seemed to all be younger years, and no one that Ellie really wanted to sit with. She sighed and spotted an empty spot further down the table. She walked toward it, but a glass raised high caught her eye. It came from the Slytherin table. She squinted in their direction to see who was celebrating and if she needed to go rescue some first year from the depths of the dungeons again like she had to last week. However, Ellie smiled and shook her head as she saw not a Slytherin face, but the face of Harrison Greg. She laughed to herself and wandered over to where he sat.
The Slytherin's looked up at her and gave her snarl as if to say, not you too. Ellie ignored them and stood behind Harrison, tapping him on the shoulder. Ellie couldn't keep a smile off her face as she waited for him to turn around to meet her.
"Are you trying to get yourself a bubblehead charm thrown at you, or are you just testing out your charms to see how far they can take you before you are hexed into oblivion?" She remarked at her fellow Headboy. "I don't feel like saving your butt today Harrison Greg."

Lunch. Normally Catherine would not be so ravenous at this hour, but she had overslept due to her late night walk outside the castle and she had missed breakfast. She frowned inwardly as she thought about freshly cooked toast, warm butter melting slowly into every piece of the hot bread and her stomach grumbled in annoyance at her. Flicking her hair back, she grabbed her books from the table and left the potions classroom silently.
It wasn't long before she had reached the great hall and the ceiling had been bewitched to look like a bright spring day. Catherine was mumbling to herself about how sickeningly happy some things in the castle were as she was walking between the rows of tables to make her way to the spot she usually sat on the Slytherin table. The fat friar passed straight through her, sending her instantly cold and in shock, she froze for a second before glaring at him as he looked back at her and chuckled, sending his fat face wobbling. Her eyes stared daggers at him and for a second his eyes widened in horror before he floated off out of the door and through the floor of the main entrance.
Turning back, she continued to walk towards her spot to find a body already occupying it's space. Sighing, she slammed her books down next to the boy, sending the noise echoing around the room and turning a few heads on various tables. Placing a hand on her hip and staring at the back of the boys head. "Oh Merlin" she sighed. "Another Gryffindor thinking that their presence at the Slytherin table will affect us" she mocked dryly, rolling her eyes before sitting right next to him, pretty closely in attempt to return the annoyance and regain at least some of her pre-occupied space.
Opening up a book, she flicked through a few pages before looking at the Hufflepuff girl, scoffing at her bad attempt at flirting with the Gryffindor lad. "Bubblehead charms are childs play. I'm sure if you annoyed them enough they'd do more damage than that" she smirked, her focus turning back to her book as she picked up a bread roll absentmindedly.

Slowly lowering his glass from his little toast Harrison was not surprised when the crust of a sandwich was hurled at him by a gang of pissed off looking Slytherin’s. Not that Harrison was too concerned by these actions seeing as he knew that the moment they tried anything a bit more serious and pulled out their wands the power of his ‘Head Boy’ badge will take over and Slytherin’s house point hour glass will suddenly become rather empty…well even more so then it was at the moment! “Where is your party spirit fellers?” Harri teased as he flicked the crumbs off his robes and turned back to his drink only to be disgusted to find some little bits of bread floating in the orange liquid. Wrinkling his nose slightly at this he pushed the goblet away in disgust and instead turned his attention to the selection of food that was set out in front of him…or at least he would have done had he not been interrupted by one Ellie Rook.
It was hard for Harrison to hide his smile and as he looked up at the Hufflepuff he could feel a slight sweat breaking out on his forehead out of nerves. Harrison Greg suffering from nerves? He must be ill! However what she had to say to him the proud Gryffindor had nothing to feel nervous about and instead he joked along with her while signalling for the Hufflepuff to sit down next to him.
“Neh, this fine fellows would never try and jinx me.” He shot the gang of male Slytherin’s another wide grin and he was convinced he saw one of them reach for their wand only to be halted by their friend who seemed to have a little bit more commonsense then the other. However in an attempt to cover his back in case they did a little bolder he thought he would give them a little bit of an empty threat, and so he rose is voice just to make sure he would be heard. “But if they did try anything they should realise that as Head Boy I could have them all put in detention for a month!”
Whether or not this threat would sink into their thick skulls was another matter all together and Harrison guessed he never would know as at the very moment he was about to try and strike up at conversation with Ellie a female Slytherin slammed down her books on the table by them, seemingly unmoved by the Head Boy and Girl sitting at her table. “Not just any Gryffindor.” Harrison grumbled under his breath as his arrogance tried to break through. “Anyway, who are you to say that a bubble head charm would not work? What Jinx would you use to shut this plain old Gryffindor up?”
Maybe this was a stupid question to ask as it was basically inviting the Slytherin to fire a few jinx’s his way but his stupid pride had been hurt and in a situation like that he could not shut himself up and no doubt would talk himself into trouble if he was not careful!

Ellie herself couldn't stop smiling once in the presence of the Gryffindor. She took the seat that he offered her and placed her books down on the table. She laughed that she words "fine fellows" as she looked across the table at the Slytherins to which he was referring. They were some of the most brutish looking boys at Hogwarts.
"Well, its good to know that being head boy is coming to some good use." Ellie laughed, as she saw the sour look on the Slytherins' faces as they realized that they would not only probably get a hex in the face back, but also a hex in the face plus the dirty job of cleaning the owl poop in the owlery for a month.
It was just like a Slytherin to butt into a conversation. Ellie's smile faded as the Slytherin immediately shot her down. Ellie's face got a little red as she was embarrassed, but also because she felt the anger surging up her spine. Ellie's wand was at the ready, but as Head Girl, it was always at the ready to break something up.
"You really think that we are sitting here specifically to piss you off?" Ellie questioned her. "I just like the view." Ellie turned around so her feet were in the aisle, she leaned back and put her elbows on the table. "I can really take in the beauty of the Great Hall from here. I think Hufflepuff and Slytherin should switch tables, I like it here. What about you Harrison?"

The pheremones coming from these two dimwitted dingbats was practically thickening the air and making her feel nauceous. She pretend gagged as the Hufflepuff fussed and flitted around the Gryffindor like Bimbo Barbie over Ken. How absolutely tragic. She rolled her eyes once more and returned her attentions to her book, placidly tearing at her bread roll and laying a small chunk on her tongue before slowly chewing it....
The sound of their conversation peaking her interests once more. His question was directed to her. She simply looked up under her eyebrows, her piercing grey eyes boring into Harrison. "Oh Please" she moaned sarcastically. The fact he was even daring talk to her, his used air blowing his ghastly germs on her face...eurgh. It disgusted her to a point of being unable to focus for a few seconds. She looked back down to her book, ignoring his question. Her inner voice was screaming, Bloody Gryffindors, cocky little sh !ts.
It was then, after flicking a page, creating a line of crumbs to get wedged between the pages did the Hufflepuff pipe up. Cat simply raised her eyebrows, again shocked that they were even trying to pick at her in attempt to annoy her moreso. The truth was they were bugging her, they were bugging her by just being alive...let alone breathing down her neck at her own house table. She lowered one eyebrow at the Hufflepuff and stood up, dragging the book from the table and making a heavy yet dull scrape along it's wooden exterior. She put on a voice a little higher tone and typically American teenage girl to mock her. "Like, oh my god. It's so beautiful from here isn't it?" she said, reaching out to almost touch Harri's arm, getting overdramatic in her insult towards her. She pulled her arm back and cradled her hand like she had just touched an open flame and her fingertips had burnt to a cinder.
"The reason why we have the best view is because we are the best" she scolded her, ending her sentence with a sneer of a smile. "Oh and you..." she turned to Harrison. "Don't forget to disinfect the area you've both sat when you're done. I assume that's one of your duties as Head Boy, no?" she smirked, flicking her hair slightly behind her shoulder and cradling the book. She turned on her heel and began to walk away before stopping. A smirk playing fully on her lips, she turned to face them once again. "We don't want the wood rotting from any diseases from horrid insects".
(feel free to hex her or do whatever you like! ] )

Now this was the kind of relaxed lunch time that Harrison enjoyed, a chance to lounge around, snack on some food, hang around with the most beautiful girl in the school and annoy the living hell out of a Slytherin. It was clear from just the mere facial expressions of the Slytherin girl that they were getting to her, if there was one thing you could always rely was the pride of the snake to get in the way. It seemed that just sitting at the table had wound up the Slytherin and Harri could not help but grin as Ellie turned around on the bench and started saying how nice it would be to have this table for the Hufflepuff’s.
“Now that is not fair Ellie.” Harrison looked over at Ellie with a wide grin on his face. “I think the Gryffindor’s would suit this table much better. I challenge you to a game of rock, paper, scissors for the right to have this table!”
As would happen with any creature if you poked it long enough with a stick you would get a reaction and just as they had planned the Slytherin girl finally responded to the provoking. Shooting Ellie a knowing little smile the Gryffindor turned his attention to Miss Woods and tried not to laugh in her face at what she had to say. Arrogance and self belief were very dangerous things.
Quickly reaching into his robe pocket Harrison pulled out his wand and pointed it straight at the Slytherin. “It is one thing to insult me but I will not stand by ideally as you insult Ellie.” There was a menacing gleam in his eyes as he twisted his wand slowly around in his hand as he refused to break eye contact with her. “Apologise to Miss Rook now!”

"Gryffindors!" Ellie said, smirking, knowing that their little playful conversation had to be making the Slytherin ticked off at least. "Oh, I will full out battle you for that!" Ellie raised her hand to start rock, paper, scissors when she heard the scrap of the book the Slytherin had just dragged as she stood.
Ellie grinned as the Slytherin went on a trip down to the valley. Her valley girl was more annoying then Ellie could have imagined, but after all, it was where the Head Girl was going for. Some times the best way to piss of a Slytherin was just to be her silly self. Happiness and smiles would fill the room and Slytherins would instinctively defend themselves from the horrid positivity.
However, when the attack became personal toward Harrison, Ellie's face began to glow red. Slowly he hand started to make its way toward her wand. Ellie knew that the snake was more likely to walk away with the fresh insult on her lips before she jumped to any hexes, but just then Harrison jumped up, defending Ellie's honor. Sweet as it was, Ellie knew that as Head Boy he couldn't be the one to provoke a fight.
Ellie stood up slightly behind him, left hand on her wand ready to back him up if necessary. They would deal with the paper work later, but Ellie was not going to stand by idle while Harrison possibly threw a destructive charm at a Slytherin at the Slytherin table. Her free arm came up to rest on his shoulder, a sign of reassurance.

Post by Nathan Holloway on Jan 8, 2012 13:53:12 GMT
Nathan had been sitting at the end of the Slytherin table trying to ignore the antic’s that were unfolding in the middle of the table. As always it was Harrison Greg and Ellie Rook kicking up a fuss and Nathan could not help but roll his eyes. The worst thing was that his fellow house mate Catherine Wood had bitten their little carrot and was causing a scene. In the hope of saving some dignity for his house Nathan knew he was going to have to step in and deal with this issue before it got too out of hand considering wands had now been drawn.
“Children please.” Nathan had stood up and was walking down towards the stupid little scene that was playing out. “I would have expected more from you two, Head Boy and Girl indeed. Professor Hubbles is madder then he looks.” A sneer spread across the Slytherin’s face as he stood face to face with the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Nathan preferred to duel with words rather then spells but he didn’t expect the two rival houses to respond in the same way, as a result he gently touched his pocket, making sure his wand was there just incase it was needed. However turning to Ellie Nathan was ready to use his tongue some more.
“Why don’t you two go off to the closest broom cupboard and make out? I am nearly drowning in the drool that has fallen from Mr Greg’s mouth.” Nathan could not help but give a small, cruel chuckle as he looked over at the gormless Gryffindor who was known as a ‘pretty boy’ by many, something that Nathan whole heartedly disagreed with.
