" Luminous beings are we, not this earthly matter. "

Profile
Name: Castiel Michaela Warwick
Pronunciation: Cas-tee-elle
Nickname: Cas
Birthday: December 24
Age: Sixteen
Year: Sixth
House: Gryffindor
Blood: Mixed blood (1/16th Veela, though her
ability to charm men is chalked up to her own
charisma; she lacks any supernatural help in that
category. She retains no outward indication of
this part of her heritage in her appearance, and
is not considered Veela at all because of how
diluted the genes are.)
Celebrity: Olivia Wilde
Patronus: Phoenix
Boggart: Old age. The thought of her finely-tuned
muscles decaying and falling from her bones like dust
turns her stomach.
Wand: Willow, thirteen and a half inches,
Veela hair (that of her great-grandmother Serafina)
Pet: Remy
Status: Single
Personality
Heritage. The Warwick clan believes themselves
descended from angels, and in doing so adopt the names
of the winged creatures. Consisting of full Veela and their
generations thereafter, the only reason the women can
stand eachother is because they are related. If not for
this fact they may have torn eachother's throats out
already. Having grown in this entirely estrogen-dominated
atmosphere and raised as if full Veela herself, Castiel has
been indoctrinated to be generally disdainful towards
other women, whom in her grandmother's eyes are
considered 'lesser' than that of their clan. Their vanity
is matched only by their loyalty and their courage; if it
werent for these noble qualities Castiel may have landed
in Slytherin. She isn't unkind, the way she was raised
simply taught her to be wary of other females. Being
her blood only slightly possesses a hint of Veela she
is able to grasp the concept and applications of magic
more efficiently than her family members, who are
only a little gifted or not at all in the ways of magic.
Mood Swings. Castiel refuses to believe she suffers from
some sort of disorder and perhaps she may not, but she seems
to jump between various emotions without provocation or reason.
She could be completely content one moment and livid the next,
and having recognized this strange quality has tried to keep it
under control by keeping a punching bag up in her dorm room.
She would never take it out on those she loves, however; only
people foreign to her and those not in her inner circle will be
the real recipients of her malfunctioning emotional wavelengths.
Motherly. While her family is fully capable of taking care of
her little sister Maion she has taken it upon herself to raise
her. Castiel knows full well that her family's views on other
women are wrong, and while she cant change the instinct
they grew inside of her she can do her best to make sure
Maion doesn't turn out the same way. She will defend and
care for her with her life, the urge to protect and help
others a dominating aspect of her personality. She cant
not help others when they are injured, and it is her
desire to become a nurse when she gets older.
Noble. She refuses to use underhanded and cunning
means to win anything, which in the past has flayed her a
couple of times but she has managed to move past it and
mature into a better human being. If there is ever a
disagreement rather than spew words of hate or vulgarity
at someone else she keeps a level head, choosing to use
apparent apathy as her weapon of choice as opposed to a
colourful vocabularity.
Sporty. The only thing that can combat the vanity
is her love for sports, and while she loves to curl up near the
fireplace with a good book it isn't hard to convince her to pop
outside for a quick game of Quidditch, rain or shine. As she is
friends with mostly male companions she has adopted many of
their quirks and habits, such as a love of competition and not
really caring if they get tackled in the mud while playing one of
those odd muggle sports. While lacking in the muscle category
she can hold her own, though she evidently prefers to use her
speed to her advantage.
Courage. Fear does not play a very convincing factor in
her decision-making as she is driven not by phobia but
determination. There is a reason why she was chosen for
Gryffindor: her bravery in what she has been through and
her choice to stand up for the tormented is quite evident.
Courage burns in her heart as if branded there.
Appearance
The diluted and effectively inactive Veela blood proved a successor to at least three of the typical traits: the porcelain complexion, the pale blonde hair, and the delicate blue eyes so capable of cruelty it was almost painful. As her mother and grandmothers before her she grew into a lovely creature, but as she began to grow older her family was startled to watch as her beautiful golden locks darkened into a deep mahogany. They were well aware the Veela genes would dilute into nothingness eventually, but it is always a shock during family photographs to see the only brunette in a sea of ice-hued hair. Long and lithe, she kept herself well in shape, though like her predecessors it isnt a very difficult task considering she is physically wired to be attractive. Her hands are faintly but visibly scarred, and depending on if you catch the right angle faint scars can also be seen on the small of her back from a few rough encounters as a child.
Mother. Taharial Sasha Warwick (deceased)
Father. Micheal Farheed Drosden (deceased)
Little Sister. Maion Mihael Warwick
Aunts. Sandalphon, Rhamiel, Anduial
Grandmother. Yofiel Chassis Warwick
Great-Grandmother. Serafina Mallan Warwick
( The identities of fathers and grandfathers remain otherwise
unmentioned, as they are not considered family but simply
'donors,' so to speak. As the Warwick lineage consists of
essentially Veela and their descendants, rarely is there ever
the presence of a male relative in any Warwick household.
Her mother, having possessed only a fraction of Veela blood,
made an exception however and included Castiel and Maion's
father in their lives.
& The Warwick clan are believed to be descended from angels,
and on these grounds they themselves take the names of
celestial beings. Their vanity is matched only by their loyalty
and their courage, and while they are entirely dominated by
women they actively participate in various charities to
present an appropriate and kind public image. They truly
are self-sacrificing, they just dont like other women very
much. )[/blockquote]
History
Early Years. Descended from angels as her family before her,
Castiel was delivered on the night before Christmas to her parents
Tahariel and Micheal, two doting lovers who never believed in
the idea of marriage but considered themselves bonded eternally
nonetheless. Birthed with eyes a startling blue and hair a vivid,
crystalline white, it seemed to her parents the Veela gene continued
to burn strongly in her blood at first. It was only when she aged
did they see a slight dappling of hair colour, and by the time she
was almost a teenager the beautiful blonde locks were long
gone. Their firstborn, she was a quiet child, often considered
thoughtful and intuitive at times until pulling a typical toddler
stunt and throwing pudding at the wall or soiling herself.
Childhood. Surprising that a woman so radiant and without
fear used to be a child wracked with phobia. When she was
younger Castiel found she couldn't stand the sun, whether it
was how the warmth felt against her skin or the occasional
burn she received from it, her parents didn't know. But for the
longest time she would only go with her family on walks in
the evening. She also used to be afraid of seagulls, pizza
delivery men (they temporarily lived near a few prominent
muggle establishments and developed a love of this one
quaint family-owned pizzeria) and jello. This eventually
matured into others, settling on the fear of aging now that
she has become a teenager.
Fondest Memories. When Castiel was afraid of having
nightmares Tahariel sprayed a home-made "Monster Repellent"
to soothe her child into slumber. What Cas believed to be magic
and capable of protection was only the scent of her mother's
perfume, which wrapped around her tiny body like a cloak and
gently eased her to sleep. She remembers the lullaby that was
sung to her, and the sound of the music her father played on his
guitar, a strange yet comforting-sounding muggle instrument
found in a pawnshop near the pizzeria they frequented.
Birth and Tragedy. When her parents told her she was going to
be an elder sister rather than pout as many almost-teenagers
have done, her eyes sparkled with excitement. She was overjoyed
to have someone else in her family, and often talked to her mother's
belly, trying to coerce the growing baby to kick out 'Yes' or
'No' answers. It never worked, of course, but it seemed to
Tahariel her unborn baby was always calmer when Castiel
spoke to it. The months rolled on, her birthday came and went
and by this time she was already eleven and in her first year of
school. As her mother went to Beauxbatons, Castiel was the
first Warwick to grace the halls of Hogwarts. As intimidating as
that might have sounded to her she approached it with ease,
excited to meet new friends and learn. Her third month into
classes brought some startling news: her little sister was born,
but due to complications in childbirth Tahariel essentially had
given up her life so Maion could live hers. Her mother had passed.
It was such a harsh revelation she still wrestles with the denial
even to this day, but the person hit hardest was Micheal, who
while still tentatively welcomed by the Warwick Clan was left
without his darling to help raise their children together. Slowly
but steadily he wasted away with grief, and as the depression
took him their aunt Sandalphon took it upon herself to raise
the two children. When he, too, passed, it wasn't as hard as the
first death, though still difficult. Their aunt was there to help
them through it in a way Micheal couldn't the first time.
Later Years. When it occurred to Castiel that her difficulties
with other girls in school was due to the indoctrination her
Veela family had soaked her brain with she decided to take
the reins of raising Maion. She loves Sandalphon dearly she
just doesn't want her little sister to go through what she did,
or to believe the things she was forced to believe. Managing
to juggle schoolwork and being a mother to Maion was difficult,
but she has found it easier as time goes by, now entering her
sixth year at Hogwarts with plans of becoming a nurse after
graduation.
