The Roleplayer
Name/Alias: Matt
Age: 19
Location: Stafford/Aberystwyth (and I still can’t spell it, luckily there’s spell check phew)
How did you hear about this site: Lol I had to think for a minute, well Gail told me back in the day, man I feel old
Any other Comments: Other than feeling old now, and liking the new look nope.
The Character
Name: Philippa
Nickname: Pippa
Surname: Patterson
Age: 16
Year: 6
House: Hufflepuff
Blood: Half blood
Wand: 11” chestnut
Personality: Though bright Pippa isn’t bubbly, and her curious smile is as much for herself as anyone else, she’s a nice enough person but has a bad habit of putting her foot in her mouth, she’ll come out with some right clangours that should never even be thought of, let alone spoken aloud, but somehow it just slips out. People have even wondered if she has Tourette’s syndrome, though nobody’s gotten around to actually asking her. More than anything she’s just fairly unlucky and happens to tread on people’s nerves as she herself gets nervous and spouts out rubbish to try filling a silence, she’s been seen as prying as she bombards new acquaintances with countless questions about their lives, but other times she’ll be as quiet as a lamb and uninterested in the world around her, she’s a bit of a daydreamer really who thinks things through a little too much, over analysing everything when she should just be living her life.
Pippa isn’t smart but she isn’t dim either, she’s got plenty of common sense and as her parents say; that’s what really matters, though truth be told she does get upset when her efforts are so rarely rewarded. She’s a hard worker only when she’s interested in the subject, she prefers a more practical approach and doesn’t read much at all, preferring to drift off in her own daydreams thinking things through in her own mind rather than talking them over with others. She finds it difficult to trust others at first and friendships take a while to strengthen before she’ll tell a person much at all.
History: A fairly loveless marriage spawned the pretty but queer Pippa, her muggle father, Graham was rich from the successful Patterson family run business buying and selling property, he wanted a beautiful wife on his arm and Francis was happy to oblige especially as she could have everything she wanted, yes the marriage was pretty loveless consecrated for convenience but they were happy using each other and that didn’t mean they loved their daughter any less, in fact being driven by their passion for money meant they could provide for Pippa, but not really in the way she needed; she was too often left in nursery’s and then after-school clubs while her father worked constantly and her mother went off doing…something.
She only learnt the truth on her tenth birthday when her parents decided it was about time to tell her, preferably before the letter from Hogwarts arrived, so they sat her down and explained everything, why Mummy was always away, and why Daddy had to work so hard, though that still made no sense to her, but learning her Mum was a witch was a dream come true, she’d always yearned for more, for a destiny always picturing herself as a fairytale princess when young then later a beautiful but cold heroin whose heart would be shattered by the man she fell deeply in love with.
True she didn’t live in the real world, but she still got by, surviving fairly well at Hogwarts not flourishing exactly, more getting by, she was enjoying herself though and what else matters?
