An overwhelming feeling of sadness enveloped Helia as she heard the chime of the bell over her door. 'Oh dear, not now. Not after such a lovely trip...' she thought with a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had just started unpacking from her whirlwind trip, and she didn't want to have to deal with another third year's broken wand after ennunciating Incedio improperly. She sighed deeply, and gave herself a moment to put her family portrait up on the bureu next to her bed before walking through the velvet curtain and out into her shop. To her surprise it was no third year, but an obviously older student, pacing the floor of her shop.
'And no mere spell could have done that to a wand,' she thought with surprise, gawking at the clealy snapped magical instrument in front of her.
"Charms, hm?" she asked the girl, letting a bemused expression wind its way onto her features. "Professor Hubbles wouldn't still be tearing tangents in that classroom, would he?" she asked as she carefully picked up the broken wand pieces.
She her head, "Tsk, tsk, tsk... beautiful wand... rowan, no? Hm... many spells gave passed through her... Let me guess, family heirloom? Passed from mother to daughter through the ages?" she closed her eyes and squeezed tightly, "Ahh, a Welsh Green's heartstring became her core..."
She released her tight grip and set the wand pieces back down on the counter, opening her eyes and smiling at the girl who she'd almost forgotten was still in her shop, "Truly beautiful. It's a shame it broke... but, that's life. All good things must come to an end, and I think the fact that it ended with you must mean you're truly an amazing witch," she said with a nod. "Now then, enough with the past, on with the present. Tell me a bit about yourself and we'll see what can be done to get you a worthy instrument, hm?"
