With her long wavy brown hair (naturally blonde) and her dull green eyes, Effie has quite small features that suit her small boyish frame. She has wide almond shaped eyes that don't particularly stand out, and her hair is a dull brown and most of the time is slightly messy as she is constantly scraping it back with her fingers to keep it from her face. She has quite a smooth jawline that effortlessly skims into her chin and has a rounded structure to her face. Her nose is slightly button like although it is long and her eyebrows are not too shapely, instead being naturally straight and unarched.
Not one for fashionable items, Effie will throw on anything that seems clean, usually testing this by picking up clothing from the floor and giving it a quick sniff). She is not dirty per se, but she does not prune herself and glance at her reflection every waking moment nor does she care to follow the ever modified fashion world, nor does she have the expenses to afford such a dismissive hobby. Her wardrobe consists of cute and band shirts, tight jeans, and lots of sneakers and converse. Being brought up on a farm, her fashion sense has been altered by this and she tends to go for more boy like items which are easier to go hiking, walking and going on adventures in. She especially likes climbing trees and has become a great climber from doing it for many years in her treehouse back home and having to compete with an older brother.
p e r s o n a l i t y
Effie is not the most sociable person on the planet and above all else prefers to be in the company of just one or two friends. She doesn't see having branches of friends as a necessity and she will only divide her time up between the ones who matter and who prove they have substance instead of random people who hunger for her attention. Perhaps this deems her friendship as wanted or perhaps it sends others spiralling in the other direction as some sort of friendship repellent. Either way, she does not care as long as she has her one true friend/s. She is not dismissive of others neither does she begrudge them trying to befriend her, but it just sets her out of her comfort zone.
She is seriously independant and hates it if somebody holds the door open for her or treats her like a child. She is not one to scream at the person, instead she will just huff and bottle up the aggravation inside before it eventually errupts in a massive mouth explosion and she lets rip on some poor unsuspecting person or thing. The steps to a few staircases have had a few verbal abusings from when she has stubbed her toe or tripped down the stairs and usually it is better if she takes her frustration on inanimate and unbreathing things, at least they won't land her in detention.
Unwillingly, she may to outsiders seem awfully moody as she does not particularly go out of her way to make conversation with people. If somebody starts to talk to her first, she will gladly talk with them but like most normal teenagers she has her moody days and will often just mumble if someone attempts to befriend her. Like previously stated, she prefers her own company or the company of a few close friends.
She is usually on the quiet side, but she is definately not shy she just prefers to think before she speaks. She is a bit of a tomboy and loves to be outside in the fresh air, her upbringing has rubbed off on her to being the outdoorsy type as both her mother and father hold jobs that involve being out in the open for hours at a time.
Effie has a problem with sitting still and feeling empty handed. She will always be holding something in her hands and it will make her feel extremely uncomfortable if she isn't doing so, so she will usually take off her robes and hold them instead. She is a big fidget and this occurs more when she is stuck inside for long periods of time, such as classes (especially with no windows) and after a while she can lose her concentration and just daydream of the outdoors. She is definately a free spirited person and doesn't understand how anyone likes to stay cooped up inside when there is such a big wide world out there to explore and be a part of, infact she finds it quite ignorant. She is not dumb but she is no Einstein either. She is quick to answer on things she knows well, mostly in subjects on Herbology, Astronomy and Care of Magical Creatures because they are the subjects that interest her but with boring curriculum she is just an average student unless it is a particularly interesting topic.
She is a big plant and animal lover, growing up on a farm has influenced her again as her father is obsessed with man muggle animals and found it enthralling to run a farm whereas her mother is a herbologist and collects and grows herbs and sells them to various buyers.

Born on 7th May in Somerset, England to Bertram and Eileena Maddox, Effie Natalia Maddox was born named Effelda but from a very young age always hated her proper name and instead adopted Effie as her true name. The Maddox's were both slightly new-age patrons and had decided to bring Effie and her older brother Mikael up in the country where their true hearts lay. Bert moved them to a small farm that was not too far from the outskirts of the city of Somerset and they have lived there since Effie was four and Mikael was seven years old.
Effie and Mikael got on as most brothers and sisters did, occasionally fighting and trying to compete with each other, most of the time Effie lost in races and such but there was thing being in the country and not going to Hogwarts had over him; treeclimbing. While Mikael was quite a clumsy climber, Effie was able to race up a tree with seeming ease and left her older brother as dust in her path. He would get aggravated that she could beat him at something and so would often try and get her to fall from the tree.
As Effie and Mikael were the only children in the small town for miles around they mostly only had themselves for company, but when Mikael went to Hogwarts he was quite popular and as Effie stayed at home alone, she had to seek her own company to become from being bored. Whereas Mikael was quite loud and boisterous, Effie has sunken into herself slightly and was less vocal than her obnoxious elder.
