or Bree to her friends and family
Professor of Care of Magical Creatures ~ Sltherin Head of House ~ 33 years old, born Dec 17 2071 ~ Pure Blood
15” ¾, Yew, varnished with dark varnish, with Centaurian tail hair.
Most people are shocked to hear that this bubbly, smiling lady was once in Slytherin, though when you talk to her, her sharp tongue can give you wip-lash. She tries to be friendly to everyone she meets, no matter what they look like or their disposition, but her first impressions stick no matter what. She doesn’t care for heritage or blood type or hair colour or anything else. She treats a person based on how they have either treated her or how they have treated others. There is no bias with her, except if you prove yourself to her, and this is how she could have not only Slytherin favourites.
Bree is a very straight forward person, being up front about issues that some may not want to talk about. She will tell a person if they are being stupid that they are being stupid, always teasing though sometimes a little meanly. The way her mind works, Bree figures that people must be told what they are doing before they can actually realise what it is they are doing (that is to say what their actions are resulting in). Lies and cover-ups annoy her to the point of red-faces shouting and she definitely does not enjoy that.
There has been a policy that Bree has adhered to ever since she was young and that was to always have fun. Her sharp, witty mind and cunning for things that are fun often brought about hours of fun and drama with her and her small group of friends. Even in her lessons, Bree will try and bring fun into everything she does without exception. That being said, Bree learnt the hard way how to take a situation that needs it seriously. She may not enjoy it but she certainly knows where the line should be drawn.
She has an odd sense of humour though. People falling over did always amuse her. If someone was to fall over in front of her and possibly break a bone, Bree would be the first person laughing. Bree would have made a terrible prefect because she would never break up a fight, not because she was afraid, oh by no means, but because she would be the one egging the fighters on. Slightly twisted though it might be, Bree finds most things funny, even when she shouldn’t.
Conscientious of what is required of her, Bree takes her responcibilities very seriously and will by no means take any nonsense from anyone that is uncalled for. Bree hates silences so encourages chattering, often engaging people, but she has certain rules, sticking by them no matter what. Her rules bring order to her life and she doesn't care what others think or say, it's how she lives and no one else can do it of her.
Family:
Alfrid O’Donnell ~ father ~ aged 74
Dellma Cartwright ~ mother ~ aged 59
Bree has no siblings; Mr O’Donnell doesn’t like to associate with his first wife (and the feeling is mutual).
Brianna was born into a proud wizarding family in a small village in France. Her parents had traveled there while searching for a vineyard, as Mr Alfrid O’Donnell was very interested in wine and had always wanted his own vineyard. Bree was the first and only child to come out of this, his second marriage. Both Alfrid and Dellma worked for the Ministry of Magic, Department of Magical Games and Sports where they had met a few years before. He was a fair few years older then her but that was never a problem in their eyes (fifteen to be exact). They had been married three years by the time their bouncing baby girl came along.
Brianna and her parents lived in France for a few years after her birth but Dellma wanted to go back to England so they kept their plot of land in France, entrusting it to Patrice (who had stayed on after the previous owners of the vineyard had left) to tend the vineyard while they were not there. Brianna became fluently bilingual from then on, though she always found the English easier and to be a nicer bunch of people in general. The O’Donnell’s lived on the outskirts of London in a lovely neighbourhood where Bree was able to play in the streets with the other children. From there navigating to and from the magical world was easy.
Brianna grew up in the heart of the magical world, being able to get front row seats to all the best sports the magical world had to offer. All three of the O’Donnell’s were sport orientated and so loved Quidditch so much. Bree always wanted to play quidditch, ever since she saw the beater from the Spanish team clobber a bludger at the rival Norwegian chaser that it hit him so her he fell of his broom and landed on the ground, breaking his shoulder, before anyone could do anything to help. Bree was about three at the time … and still remembers it like it was yesterday.
She didn’t get her chance to play quidditch, for real, until her second year at Hogwarts though I’m getting ahead of myself here. Bree and her parents often went back to France for long holidays, where Bree got the chance to play with Patrice’s many many children and dogs and horses and sheep and his three ducks while her father a chance to do what he loved so. And so, moving back and forth between France and England Bree grew up. It was in the year that she was to turn eleven that Bree received a letter from Hogwarts, inviting her to attend the school. Her parents were thrilled but not as thrilled as she was.
Finally, Bree would get the chance to play quidditch and learn proper magic and about all the magical creatures that she could. There were two loves that Brianna O’Donnell took with her to Hogwarts: a love for Quidditch and a love for Caring for Magical Creatures. Bree was put into Slytherin, something she remains proud of till this day. Bree, knowing her parents where there to back her all the way, got up to a fair amount of trouble and always had fun. It was something she would tell everyone that needed to hear it: ‘if you’re not having fun, you should be somewhere else’. Bree enjoyed her classes tremendously, but her enjoyment of the subjects kept her from doing exceedingly well, as she could have. Bree got to play quidditch, beater for her house team and she did them proud. So proud were they that she was appointed Captain of Slytherin’s Quidditch team when she was in her fifth year. Her father had played professional Quidditch when he was younger and when he found out he was too proud.
Her school career came to an end all too soon, ending with her being a prefect in her sixth and seventh year, but Bree didn’t let this get her down. It was her two loves that drove her on. Without any sort of hesitation, Bree went straight into playing Quidditch professionally for Puddlemere United. She played with them for five years but found that she was getting bored of it and so, sort a change. She then travelled to France again, to take her apprenticeship in Care of Magical Creatures and Flying at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. She remained there for three years, learning all she could but still enjoying herself … until she found that she wasn’t any more. So she left.
Bree then travelled for a while, around Europe and Asia, but soon enough that grew tired too. She returned to England and was told of an opening at Hogwarts. Elated, Bree was the first to apply (well, perhaps no but she did it very quickly) and soon enough she was back in Wigglyfish’s office but shaking his hand, knowing that the job of teaching the children about flying and Quidditch was hers. A few years went by and Bree was contented, she made friends with the Astronomy teacher, but all the while she spied wistfully on the Care of Magical Creatures, wanting it more then she could say.
The world was made perfect for Bree when the position of her favourite subject became open. Immediately she acquisitioned to get the job and sure enough she did. So Bree went to work, teaching Care of Magical Creatures, happy that she was no longer with the spoiled brats at Beauxbatons, and that Dia, her best friend, had finally gotten over herself and gotten married. Life moved on at Hogwarts but soon things started going a little crazy. Madness soon set in and she saw it most of all in the creatures in the Forbidden Forest and the students, acting like animals too. The staff also started acting crazy and she began to feel more fearless, more disposed to kindness to even the stupid children in her classes.
The crazy creatures in the forest worried her but it would often slip her mind as she became more and more distracted by clouds in the sky and pretty chandeliers. Magical Creatures were her life for a long time, funny that they would be her end as well.
