Name: Guinevere Natalia Desrosiers (last name is French, and means, ‘Of the rose trees’)
Nickname: Gwen (friends and family only!)
Age: 16
Year: 6th
House: Ravenclaw
A Royal History: Guinevere Desrosiers, believe it or not, is a descendant of Queen Guinevere of Camelot. According to family history, Queen Guinevere either had a son, Loholt (father’s name unknown) who was Arthur’s illegitimate son. Another story says that when Arthur, waged war against Emperor Lucius of Rome, he left Mordred, the man who would be his downfall, in charge. During Arthur’s absence, Mordred had himself crowned King, and married Guinevere whom he had two sons with.
Upon hearing this news, Arthur returned to Camelot, and the Battle of Camlann was fought. Mordred died and Arthur was taken to Avalon. No one knows for sure, which of these stories is the true one, but it is known that a son grew up, married, and had three sons of his own, two who in turn, grew up, married, and had a son, and two daughters. Their son grew up, married, and had three daughters…and it continues until we reach Philippe and Elodie, parents of Guinevere
A Privileged Life: Although Guinevere’s family is no longer considered legitimate royalty, she still leads a very privileged life. All Gwen has to do is snap her fingers, and she immediately has servants at her beck and call. This does not mean however, that she is spoiled. Gwen’s parents have taught her to appreciate the fine things in life, and that she should be grateful that she has them, for many do not have the luxurious life she does. They have also taught her to be kind and fair to everyone, and to never pick sides in an argument, but instead hear it from both points of view, and try to solve the matter calmly and peacefully. Gwen grew up loved, admired, with a carefree spirit, and a love for all things living. However, there were some…oddities. Around the age of three, Guinevere began to show signs of well…having some sort of power. It was soon learned, that she was a witch. Being an open minded family, her family was rather proud, but knew that others would not feel the same, and so sent her off to school at Beauxbatons, leaving people under the impression that she was off at a private all girls boarding school.
While at Beauxbatons, she met Ashton McLane who was a year older and they became close friends throughout the years. 4th year came, Ash left. Gwen stayed. 5th year came, still no news from Ash. Finally, 6th year came and she decided to look for him. She found that he had changed his last name to his mother’s maiden name of Laurent. Using this information, she decided to transfer to Hogwarts and track him down. Gwen still knows nothing of her old friend’s former troubles, nor does she know of his preference to males. Will she be understanding and not judge him as she was taught? Or will the shock prove too much for their friendship to handle?
The Many Layers of Guinevere Natalia Desrosiers: Gwen, like many people seems to have a layer of personalities. Depending on her mood, she can be silly, adventurous, or she can be serious, grounded, ready to work, and there are also times, when like anyone else she can just be plain mean and grouchy! Overall, Gwen is a sweet, fun-loving, loyal, passionate, inquisitive girl. She is always asking questions, and always wanting to learn new things. In her opinion, there is no such thing as having too much intelligence. You will most likely find this bright young lady curled up with a book, reading until she becomes sleepy.
Gwen’s Style: Gwen’s style is very…old fashioned Middle Ages in fact. A typical outfit for Gwen would be a long-skirted, form fitting dress, usually in two colors, an underskirt, and overskirt, with long flowing floor-scraping sleeves, and a small train in back. The ones with larger trains are reserved for formal occasions. Gwen’s favorite dress is a midnight blue, with white underskirt and bodice. The gown is cut so that the bodice shows in a triangular fashion and the bodice has blue lacings going up.
Gwen knows that while many people may think her odd for wearing such clothing, she also knows that it’s not about what’s in fashion, it’s about what looks good on you, and what you feel good in. And Guinevere, just so happens to look rather lovely in her Medieval Era clothing; another reason she dresses this way is because being a descendant of Queen Guinevere, is something that she is rather proud of, and dressing this way makes her feel more connected to her lineage.
Skills: Gwen is highly trained in the skill of archery. She is also an exceptional piano player
Gwen's Favorite Dress:
Note: I have tried to be as historically accurate as possible, but I have changed/added some things to fit the character! So, please don't have a cow with me. Kay?
