Professor Hikaru Tanaka strolled onto the Quidditch pitch, broom in hand. It was his first lesson, and he was very excited. He had a good lesson thought up and with any luck it would all go off without a hitch.
First things first, he needed his students! While waiting for them he pulled out a piece of parchment and went over the lesson plan once more. What he was going to do, was have each student fly around for a while then divide them up into three groups according to their skill. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Sarie hummed happily as she walked down the stair case. Sarie was a small girl. Brown hair and dark eyes. She was a third year and she was heading off to one of best lessons she had. Today started her flying lessons not that she needed them.Sje carried her baby a sliver arrow. She had been given to her in her first year. She was her team's seeker and had won the last match by a few seconds.
The reason she took flying was to improve her skill. She saw the pitch come into few and she quickened her pace. She entered the stadium and felt happy to be there. She saw her favorite Professor. His name was Hikaru Tanaka she had met him in the forest and they had been close ever since. "Professor Tanaka how are you?" SHe had been told to call him by his first name but wasn't sure if that was still open.

Hikaru turned with a smile as he heard the familiar voice of his favorite student. Sarie Thimble. "Hello Sarie." he replied. He shook his head. "Sarie please, how many times must I ask you to call me Hikaru?" he admonished gently. "I'm fine. And you?" he said in reply to her question.

"Eight or nine I think. Well it been a while. I been good. I won my last match." She smiled. "I hope it was okay that I brought my own broom." She lay the sliver arrow on the ground. "I've missed you what you been doing since you left?"

As usual Faust was late. He had just fell asleep because he needed to rest his arm but he had over slept. He ran to the dining hall to catch something to eat and then slipped on his plimpsols.
He arrived in the grounds holding his broom in one hand and his slinged arm holding his wand. He saw the teacher and waved, He saw another student too. "I'm Johann Faust....Am I late?"

Hikaru turned at the sound of another voice. It was a Ravenclaw this time. A first year from the looks of it. "No, not at all. In fact, both you and Ms. Thimble are early." he gave the boy a smile. "I am Hikaru Tanaka. Please, none of this 'Professor' stuff. Makes me feel old! Call me Hikaru."
He looked around hiding a disappointed sigh. "I'd hoped there'd be more..." he said quetly. He turned to Sarie, "What do you say Sarie, shall we give the others a few more minutes to get here, or go ahead and start without them?"
It really was a shame that no one else had bothered to sign up. Flying was a wonderful class. You got to be outside in the fresh air, zooming along on a broomstick... honestly, in Hikaru's opinion, what more could you ask for? Yes, it was a shame indeed.

"We can wait." She sat on the ground. "In five minutes where starting with out them. How does that sound." She fell back into the grass staring at the clouds.

In the end, they ended up waiting about fifteen minutes. Finally, with a sigh, Hikaru stood. He didn't even bother to blow his whistle. What was the point? He merely called the two students over to him, and addressed them.
"Okay, Ms. Thimble, why don't you go first? I know you're Gryffindor's Seeker, so you're obviously fast, but what I want to know is how good your form is. Are you balanced, do you steer correctly, can you ascend and descend correctly, just stuff like that."
He smiled at his favorite student. "So, what I want you to do, is mount your broom, and when you hear my whistle kick off hard from the ground. Hover for just a moment, then make two complete loops around the stands. I will be looking for, as I said before, good balance, proper steering, and no stunts! Not until later anyway."
Stepping back, he also motioned the other student back a bit. Raising the whistle to his lips, he counted backwards from three. "3, 2, 1" at one there was a sharp, shrill blast from the whistle.

"You're no fun." She said mounting her broom. She heard the whistle blow and she was off. This wouldn't take her long. She loved flying it was a way for her to forget her problems. She past Hikaru the first time with the wind blowing her hair. She the feel. She was free but sadly she was about to end the flight. She slowed and landed. "What do you think?"
