She thought her words would would have been enough to entice him into action, finally make him say what he should have said years ago. Shayla wasn't conceited but there came a point when you just sort of know a guy is into you. She started to get this sense from Tyson but he seemed to have trouble dealing with it. Was incapable of putting his feelings into words. Shayla wasn't the kind of girl who gave up so easily, but this has been years coming and still they couldn't get it right. Shayla had no clue what she was still even doing there. There were other things going on that needed her attention, like work for one. She should be behind a desk or something not sitting here trying to get a guy to realize he has feelings for her.
Butterbeer was almost done now. One sip and she would be finished. Then she would excuse herself and leave go on about her business and forget running into Tyson at all. Too bad she couldn't' t seem to just take that last sip. No all she wanted to do was sit there and hope that eventually it would all click for him, eventually he would come right out and say something. He heard what she had said she hoped she had been clear but...
She sat there watching him watch her. She felt this buzz of electricity that seemed to be coursing through her. He did that and the worst part was he had no idea. Shayla started to feel sad, but she would not let him see that.
When his voice rang out Shayla sensed the change in his tone. He was in serious mode. Maybe this was it? Maybe he would finally tell her what she was dying to hear. Shayla couldn't bring herself to say anything so she nodded a him giving him all of her attention.

It was getting chilly inside the Three Broomsticks. Shayla had no coat and Tyson figured she'd probably been freezing, he knew he was. Ty was usually burning up, the AC was always on full blast around his apartment, but Shay didn't look like the person who was always caliente. She was gorgeous in her looks of course. He smiled at her. He was so serious before, but that was so not like him to be boring and so down to earth.
All he wanted to do was scoot into the other side of the booth and wrap his arms around her, but how awkward would that be, if he hadn't confessed his love for her yet. He cleared his throat and said,"This isn't what I wanted to ask-" Ty continued,"But it's worrying me: are you cold?"
That was so strange. Tyson was very rarely that nice to someone, but things were different when he was around Shayla. She was so sweet, nice, thoughtful... and only a few traits matched his. How could she be the one, but he had to try. He looked her straight in the face and admitted,"Shay: I love you!!" And he took a drink of his butterbeer.

The temperature in the room suddenly felt a bit chillier then before. She felt as if she was about to shiver but she figured it had more to do with what she was feeling. This whole time she had been thinking that fate intervened brought her here that day because he was there. She wasn't a real believer in things like that but today she figured what else could it be? Seeing as how he still hadn't told her what she wanted she figured it was just dumb luck.
Wrapping her arms around herself she tried to warm up the cold began to get to her. She felt odd somehow like she'd never be able to get warm again. He seemed to have noticed it too because he asked if she was cold. [color-8E236B]"Um yes a little I suppose."[/color] It's not like she wanted to admit that or be nice to him anymore. This isn't what she wanted not at all.
This should be easy if they were meant to be together all of this should be a piece of cake. They were both adults both probably had relationships before, so admitting their feelings toward each other shouldn't be this difficult. Shayla sighed, dropping her arms from her shoulders. Shutting her eyes she figured it was just for the best. Now that they'd seen each other and still not laid out there feelings maybe Shayla could just move one and forget him finally...
Shay: I love you!!
Her eyes flew open, as did her mouth. What? Had he actually said that? Perhaps her hearing was playing tricks being spiteful. As she stared she saw the waitress moving, the sky getting darker, felt her heart beating fast. Basically everything was the same. This was all real, he had said it to her. "Tyson White you don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that. I love you too you silly man, have ever since the first time I saw you."
Now was the time for grand gestures. He told her he loved her then began sipping his butterbeer Shayla rose moved to sit next to him, grabbed his glass and put it back down on the table then placed her finger under his chin forcing him to look up at her. Smiling at him a tear falling down her left cheek she kissed his lips gently.

Wow he'd said it. He admitted it. It had been almost twenty years, but now it was done and over. He loved her. Now was the time in the romantic film when the girl spits in his face and runs out the door, but Shayla sat there. She seemed to have a small smile peek out and her whole face lit up. Had he actually said something right in person. Normally he managed to write what people want, but not say them. This had to be a mistake!
"Tyson White you don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that. I love you too you silly man, have ever since the first time I saw you."
Yes that was his name and yes that was his beautiful gal saying it with her special twaing and he looked up at her and grinned. Immediately after his breakdown, the straw to Ty's butterbeer was in his mouth again. Shay didn't seem to like that. All to soon she got up, took his butterbeer, sat down next to him, slammed it back down, and gave him the kiss of his life.
Her lips felt so good against his. She was quite chilly even though her answer earlier had totally past his mind! He smiled as she kissed him and he found himself kissing back. As Tyson felt her finger against his chin it felt rather cold. He put his rough man hands around her cheeks and then wrapped his arms around her. This was the night of his life and it just kept getting better!

Shayla was not the kind of girl who did things like that. She was not very expressive telling people how she felt about them not on such a grand scale anyway. Shay just couldn't help it though with Tyson it was easy the words came out with no problems. She loved him always had from that first day she had glimpsed him in the halls she had fallen. All these years she kept it bottled up, all these years she tried not to let anyone effect her the way he had.
In all her years that was probably why she had such sucky relationships. Probably why she didn't have anyone to speak of now. Ah well that wasn't quite true now was it. No she was sitting next to her dream man kissing him finally the way she had always wanted to. It was all happening. She was tempted to pinch herself and see if it was real.
Pulling back from his kiss Shayla was beaming from ear to ear. People were looking at the two of them as if wondering what there was to be so happy about. Shay wanted to stand up on the seat and say I'm happy because Tyson White loves me. but she didn't. No instead she looked at the man seated next to her. Her hands on his cheek and said "Why in the world did it take us so long to get here? I've loved you so long I thought it would just never happen. I think I've waited all my life for this" and she meant it. This was now officially the best day of her life.

Tyson sat at the table. He stared around The Three Broomsticks. He sighed and then smiled at the woman sitting next to him that he adored like Hell. He glanced at the waiters and watriesses, he took a peek at the bar which so many drunk bastards were, he wiggled around slightly to feel the cushion of the booth he was sitting in, the lights above them were a bit dim, and they never really had a rightful meal. This cozy, warm, sweet setting wasn't exactly he pictured the night he found his number one right woman, but he guessed that sometimes life finds a way to get in there somehow.
All of a sudden thoughts started pounding in his head. Not letting loose, like they had to be thought through this instant. Does he marry her now? Date her for awhile? Propose? He knew she was the one for him, but do they take big steps or baby steps? He had no idea. For Ty this was all new stuff. He figured that Shayla would have a good answer, so he turned and looked her in the eyes. They were blazing with wonder and beauty. Perfect! He couldn't ask her. The man is supposed to know everything. At least that's what he's always thought.
Tyson supposed that leaving it at this would be fine. Everthing unanswered, but that was okay. He would figure it out later. "Well Shayla Kane... i'm not sure? But I love you more than anything and I'm glad this night finally came!" Tyson answered her longing question. And smiled to himself. Then he laughed and asked,"Are you hungry by any chance?"

Shayla sat watching him this was the same way she used to watch him when they were in school together. Grinning it was cute to see that he was still as nervous now as he used to be then. It was that personality of his that always made him so endearing to her. He just didn't know how handsome he was. The boys back in school the ones that acted cocky well they never did it for her. No, Ty who was shy and maybe even a bit insecure was the one who got under her skin then and still got under her skin now.
They were so much older and it took them this long to admit feelings to each other. Their lives had moved on but something brought them together and even then it took him forever to say what he wanted to say to her. Shay didn't find it annoying as some women might she loved it about him. He wasn't the kind to rush things, it was like that saying "good things comes to those who wait" and this was best thing for the both of them.
One question was what were they to each other now. They were in love with each other always had been which was great but now that this was out in the open well what now? She hoped he was going to shed some light on this when he answered her but the only thing he shed light on was the fact that she was sort of hungry now. "Yeah you know what I'm a bit famished now that you mention it" food and a drink this might construed as a date their very first ever. Thank goodness for good timing. "Did you have anything in mind?" She didn't mention the date thing for some reason she thought he might get a little freaked out.

The only thing Tyson wanted better right now, other than sitting here with "his woman", "the girl of his dreams", and such, was to slap himself square in the forehead. How in the world could he have asked her about food when this was going so well. And to tell the truth Ty wasn't even that hungry, but to deprive a girl of something to eat was terrible, the worst thing to do right? Maybe... he was trying so hard, but he always heard that it was a progative for a girl to change her mind. Hopefully Shayla was still on to him!
He sat there going through his options: running away before it was too late, ordering food and pick through it, just get a beverege, kiss her again, or just tell her the truth. Ding, ding, ding... duh Tyson. That was a no-brainer. He had to just tell her how he felt, that he was confused and she would just have to live with the fact that he is a nerd and she chose him. He laughed at that one, but realized he was talking to himself in his head. Ugh... what had he done.
Clearing his throat Tyson sat up, looked her straight in the face, gazed in her eyes, thought of the future, and said,"Shay that's not what I was going to ask. Now don't get me wrong if I sound abseloutely retarted, but i'm sort of new at this." he paused. What did he say next... marry me, i love you, forgive me, or was there something else? Ty looked at her as he continued,"I just really like you, but I think it would be to soon to ask you to marry me, but before I ask you out again I have to know if you'd be willing to put up with me?"
There he did it! Hallelujah! Let the angels sing. Her face looked the same. Maybe she did understand! It was time to rejoice. He smiled smugly as the wanted to rub his forehead of the sweat, but decided against it!

She thought the offer for food was his way of asking her out without actually asking her, and she was kind of wrong. No his asking her to eat was a cover for something else. He seemed to have trouble being open with her and she seemed to have trouble being open with him. He was her hearts desire and she didn't want to walk out of there wondering what they were.
He was saying several things at once the word marriage was even mentioned but the thing that made he stop and take notice was him asking if she could put up with him. There was a look of disbelief on her face now as she stared back at him. "Tyson why would you even need to ask that. You've been my hearts desire for as long as I can remember, if there's anyone I can put up with it would be you. I've waited for you forever."
Heck silly as it sounded if he asked her to go off and get married she would actually agree. It wasn't normal she knew but they waited how many years for this. There was no way she was letting him get away from her not now and hopefully not ever. Shay was ready to commit to someone and she wanted it to be him. "Question is can you put up with me."

Taking a sip of his butterbeer, a smirk appeared on Tyson's face. He always knew somewhere in there was humor. In his attitude and hers. He always knew she would be the one for him and now he was able to be honest, true, loyal, dedicated, loving... the whole deal all in one night! It was incredible that he wasn't going to have to waste his whole life finding the perfect girl for him. His gal was right next to him. Shay was everything he ever wanted. Blonde hair, blue eyes... but better yet funny, sweet, "a good kisser", loving, caring, cute, beautiful, smart... everything! He could want nothing more. Most guys have some dream girl, but for Tyson, Shayla was it! Nothing more, nothing less... just her!
He let out a sigh of relief. It was going to be easy being with Shayla. She worked with the ministry of course she could handle him! "Ha good! Oh honey we might have to test that theory!" Tyson joked. He stretched his arm around her and smiled,"Of course I can handle you, unless..." How did he word this? Flirting really wasn't his thing. He'd rather just get to the point... he's a reporter, it's in his blood. "-there's more to you than you're letting me have!"
That's wasn't too bad, but kind of cheesy! Of course that's what Ty's all about. The easy and the basic... nah he'd have to come up with something soon! He shivered a bit and just prayed this night would go on forever and forever... eternity!

There was no way she could have gotten this lucky. She was pretty much a good girl, she wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Something like this well she often found it only happened for the almost perfect people. The chance at love well it didn't seem like it would ever really happen for her. She went from relationship to relationship trying to find that spark that feeling that told her that was it. She was feeling it in spades right now.
As he wrapped his arm around her she snuggled a little into the crook of his arm. She felt right there she just felt right being with him period. She knew he could handle him he was a good man someone she could see herself with. He had the bit of nerd in him still and she found it so cute she could simply scream. "My dear Tyson what you see is what you get. You've gotten all of me my love."
Kissing his cheek she felt like she just struck gold with him. "I still feel like this is some kind of dream. I mean you were the one man I dreamed of having for so long and now here you are. This has to be like one of the best days ever. It's comes in first actually right before me making it into the ministry. I am still on cloud nine thanks to you. I am still in awe at how everything turned out for us. "

Tyson listened to her speak. Her words slurred off her tongue like creamy choclate. There was that food craving again. Yes, just like a dream. His dream girl, her dream guy... equals of course the dream match! Ha his ignorance ammused himself. Duh everyone always joked with him that Shayla would be perfect, but always denied it, but now he realized that he was quite the idiot for always wanting less when he could have the abseloute best.
He felt Shay's warm body press into him. God, she fit right in. Like she belonged there, wait she did belong there. The piece that was always missing. They belonged together and nothing would change that. She kissed him lightly on the cheek and Tyson lingered for more! How could they have just found each other. He was drawn to her. She was so vibrant and sweet. No man will ever be as lucky as him.
She began speaking again and all Ty could do was listen, so intently that he caught ever word. "Good, because this is exactly what I want!" Tyson agreed and brushed his lips across her cheek and then her lips. Ty laughed. A dream? Never! "Oh I am so happy this is exactly the opposite of a dream. It is life, the very best. I recieved the very best-" He looked her in the eyes, which he did alot, and cooed,"-you!"

"I think my lucky stars I needed a break from work I would probably be sitting in my office now filling out a desk full of paperwork." She thought of all the work she had waiting for her but she couldn't find it in her to care very much. She'd pay the price later for now she was just enjoying the biggest thrill she ever received. The Pub seemed to fade away and all that was left was her and him in this perfect little world and this perfect little space.
"You know we could be married by now if we had done this when we were in school. It would have been nice to walk together hand in hand in class but this will be even better, now we can walk hand in hand in London. How nice its going to be. I think we're good together made for each other as cliche as it sounds."
His kiss gentle as it was made her knees feel weak. Lucky she was sitting down because she might have just fallen. Oh yes he was it for her and she knew it now. There was nothing that could dissuade her from that. "So Mister reporter what story are you working on now. I can't wait to read your work because I'm sure it's good. I wish I read the paper more I would have found you a lot sooner."

Tyson listened as Shayla went on about how much paperwork she had and how if it hadn't been for him that's where she would be. He, being a reporter, knew a whole lot about paper work and wouldn't want to be doing it either, but he also knew that if you don't do it you have a whole lot more to do later. "Ah... well i'm glad you came here too, because otherwise i'd be at some boring, so called party, of one of my co-writers!" Tyson agreed. He smiled and went on,"But if you don't get on it and start filling out that paperwork I might never get to see you again!" He joked and sat up,"What if I take you home and help you fill it out?" It was a reasonable plan to him. She got her work done and he got more time with her. Perfect!
He squeezed her around the shoulders and let his arm linger there. It was warm and it felt like it belonged there. "Well at least now we can do our thing with no interruptions and no stares-" he stopped and caught a picture of him and Shayla, hand in hand on a street corner, and everybody staring,"-well maybe not... on London's streets everybody will be starring, because were just such the perfect match! Especially our school friends, you know, the ones that never thought we'd ever find our match." He laughed at the sight of his best friend seeing them together.
Oh dear the question about what he was writing about. Work, he thought the subject would never come up. Of course he hated talking about his next piece. And she didn't read the paper. Well that had to change. He chuckled and took her hand in his. "Baby, I refuse to tell you what i'm working on, 'cause you'll just have to read the paper to find out. I'll start bringing you one every week!" He smiled. "Let's get out of here!" He got up from the booth, still holding her hand, helped her up and they walked; hand in hand outside.
