He was supposed to be good. He was supposed to be responsible. He was supposed to be a role model for younger years. He was supposed to be a good student. He was supposed to make sure everyone behaved. He was supposed to be a lot of things. A lot of things this Kennedy couldnt claim to be. He wasnt good, he wasnt responsible, he was a bad role model for younger years and he more encouraged bad behaviour like pranks and torturing Slytherins than discourage it. Bryn Kennedy was a bad candiate for Prefect. 'Perfect Prefect.' After all, isnt that what prefects were meant to be? Some level of perfection? Well Bryn had had just about all he could take of this Prefect Malarky. He had done his job and played his part, he had done everything he was supposed to, hell, he even took a stab at being responsible and now he was tired of losing himself. Because lets face it, when you have to change yourself to suit a title, you're bound to lose yourself.
He hadnt pulled a prank since last year, since the one Cairo got caught up in, literally. He still felt bad about it and she still wouldnt talk to him, he figured he would try to patch things up this year but unfortunatly he barely had time for his sisters, let alone a damsel in distress. He was stressed. Extreamly stressed. He barely slept, and when he did he had bad dreams, (he blamed the cheese) and if he went through a dreamless night he woke up restless anyway. The air in the castle had gotten so thick he felt as though he was suffocating. He needed out, he needed an out. So, for one day. He forgot who he was 'supposed' to be and left his prefect status in bed. He wasnt Bryn the Prefect today. He was Bryn Kennedy, prankster and basic twin, he instantly felt better.
"Hey! I'm trying to sleep here, bleedin' students waking me up at ungodly hours." Came the voice of the usually gentle fat lady. "Ungodly hours? Its like, noon on a Saturday, and your a painting. Paintings shouldnt need sleep." Bryn folded his arms and looked at her, "Oh, so now the big hard prefect prankster is telling me what I do and do not need, insulting me just because im in a canvas and he can walk around freely doing as he pleases." Bryn shook his head and turned away, "You know, you have a bad attitude." "I'll give you bad attitude Bryn Aaron Kennedy!"
Bryn was still smirking about that as he got halfway down to Hogsmeade. His plans; go to the joke shop. Get some supplies. Think up a prank. Go see Brooke, tell her. Go see Ali for no reason. Owl mum, dad and Nicolette then.. do whatever he wanted. So, here he was, in non-uniform. Wearing his faded dark blue jeans and a beige jacket with a white rounded neck vest top on underneath it, once he opened the door and the bell chimed over his head, he took one look around and felt his old immaturity flooding back through him. "Yay." He said quietly to himself. He began to sift through all kinds of things mumbling, "No, done it. No. No. No. No. Done it. Done it. No." Truth was, he didnt know what he was looking for.

The Department of Magical Law Enforcement did not have weekends and since when did the evil witches and wizards of the world take a break? Then add to the fact that she was head of the department meant that Lois Kennedy did not have a life either and so with this in mind it would surprise you greatly to see this elegant woman walking down the high street of Hogsmeade. Her hair curled blond hair was loosely tied up just to keep it out of her face when the wind blew, her eyes were hidden behind a pair over overly large sunglasses, and with every step of her high heeled leather boots took the witches long black coat floated in the breeze.
It would be safe to come to the conclusion that Lois cared about how she looked, first impressions were everything and she liked to give one of style, class and above all else authority. The further down the high street she went the more populated the area became and the witches mind was working in overload looking out for potential trouble makers and she actually spotted on, Bryn Kennedy, her nephew.
Following him from a distance Lois watched as the young Gryffindor dived inside the local joke shop, a typical place to find him she thought as too the Ex Hit Witch approached the shop door. Taking one last long drag of her cigarette she stubbed the end out of the door frame before flicking it carelessly into the crowds that swarmed the high street…then she entered the shop.
It seemed just as busy as outside although it was a lot warmer and there was a lingering smell in the air, dung bombs. Rolling her eyes behind the tinted lenses of her sunglasses the witch started to make her way trailing Bryn who was frantically looking through the shelves of practical jokes.
“I am sure your mother and father would prefer you spending your money on better things then these.” Picking up a pack of indoor fireworks Lois gave a small sigh. “In my day we used to pull jokes off without the aid of such simple contraptions.”

If he had known Lois was following him, he wouldnt have dived into the Joke Shop like a five year old. He would have gone in, but he wouldnt have dived in making it appear he needed these jokeful items. Besides, wasnt this better than Wyatts? Sure, Wyatts was a dark item shop more or less, but it had some funny things in there too. Not that he had ever been in there of course. Still, as Bryn shifted through the items in the joke shop, he was kind of dissapointed when he saw right now, the best they had was indoor fireworks and he had done that one already. He needed some form of entertainment in his life since now, being a prefect, it was null and void. Nobody told him anything they were doing anymore in fear of him having to stick by his status. "Being a prefect sucks. I dont care what mum says." He mumbled annoyed to himself.
"Aah!" Came the startled response from one voice he knew all too well. "My dear Auntie Lois!" His grin was from ear to ear, he looked at her face and frowned. The one thing he didnt want was to dissapoint Lois. She would only tell his father, and though his dad may find this funny, his mother certainly wouldnt if she knew what he actually got upto during the school days. "My father wouldnt mind... and I would love you forever if you didnt tell my mum." He smiled, hoping it was enough to show that his mother, Addie, would string him up. She dissaproved greatly of pranks. "In your day you were young, now your old and times use simple contraptions." He grinned again, playing the role of the cheeky nephew. "No offence intended."
The two stood in silence for a minute before Bryn piped up again, with the smile on his face, again. "Do you want to go get a drink?" He asked pleasantly, "It's been ages since I saw you last and... well..." He looked around, indicated with his finger to come closer and whispered, "I've missed you." Bryn leant back and smiled, he was usually calm and reserved but right now, standing in a joke shop with his aunt was making him giddy, plus he needed a drink. Of course he doubted Lois would allow underage drinking considering, so he would have to settle for a butterbeer. His eyes sparkled, which was usually a very bad sign. It usually meant Bryn was upto something, or he was plotting. Or both. Everyone was now used to the look in his eyes and knew to be wary when he got it. "Come on then, I know you need a drink. You're like mum you both work far too much."
So with that, he lead Lois back into the street. "So, any news? Got a fella' yet?" Bryn asked this question a thousand times and he always recieved the same answer, something like 'no im too busy to think about that.' Bryn was busy, but hell his mind never was. Unless pre-occupied with wondering what Brookes upto, seriously that girl should be given a beeper. Or be put on a very tight leash.

“Oh no!” Exclaimed Lois as she looked at her nephew, leaning a bit closer as she dropt her voice to a whisper. “What happens at Hogwarts stays at Hogwarts, your parents don’t need to know anything.” Giggling ever so slightly the witch moved away from Bryn and looked around at the other students in the shop enjoying the fact that her sun glasses hid the fact that she was staring intently at them. It was only the sound of Bryn’s voice and his confession of liking her that made Lois look away from a pair of students who were laughing rather evilly as they looked over a rather large cardboard box.
“Of course I shall go for a drink with you Bryn.” Without anything needed to be said the witch was already making her way out of the shop before she stopped dead, turned around and pulled her sun glasses down her nose ever so slightly so that she could get a better view of the boy. “How old are you again?” There was the tiniest hint of a frown on the witch’s brow but it soon vanished when she pushed her sunglasses back up over her eyes and a smile filled her face. “Does not matter, you look old enough.”
Stepping out back into the high street the November chill caught Lois a little of guard and a small shiver ran up her spine. The sooner they got inside The Three Broomsticks (she had already made the decision for them, she had to take authority somehow) the better, she knew with the correct word in the right ear she should be able to get a table near the fire and by the window so she could stay warm and watch the world pass by. It did seem however that Bryn was already making conversation and although it would delay them she had to answer her dearest nephew.
“If I had a man do you think I would be here by myself?” The sounds of her boots hitting the cobbled stone high street seemed to stand out from the rest of the noise. “But no I am to busy to think about that sort of thing right now. I am head of Law Enforcement you know.”
Pushing open the door to the pub she watched with a small smile as the locals turned around to see who had entered and quickly looked away again in fear. Many had illegal things on the side and it only took a little bit of bribery for Lois to over look an odd incident and getting off her table was one sure way. With a quick hand movement that was universally known as ‘MOVE!’ some rather dirty looking men quickly picked up their drink and scurried away leaving the window seat open for Lois and Bryn.

Bryn visibly relaxed when Lois said she had no intention of telling his parents. They knew he was a joker, he never hid that but they didnt know he spent all of his money usually on joke items and things that would easily get him suspended. "Its more my mother than my father that I worry about." He scoffed an put the explosive fireworks back into the box. You never knew what Lois was going to do, she was unpredictable, he figured it all depended on the day and the mood she was in, catch her in a good mood she would be brilliant, in a bad one. Well lets just say Lois isnt one to be crossed.
Bryn could always count on Lois to want a drink, especially after a hard days work or something. She was easily swayed when it came to alcohol, which he found highly hilarious. Family gatherings werent complete until you heard her say 'theres not enough alcohol in this house.' When she stopped and seemed to take in his appearance, he shuffled from one foot to the other, though a big grin came across his face when she spoke again. "Discretion is the better part of valour" Beaming he added, "Of course I dont know what that means exactly but it sounded good."
Once the two began moving again, something caught Bryn's eye. She was small, around Bryn's age with dark brown hair but strange light blue eyes. When she looked over at him, he gave a smile however when he did he tripped over a cobblestone which was turned up a little bit and he had to catch himself on Lois. "Yeah, smooth Bryn, Real smooth." He steadied himself and carried on walking, puffing his chest out somewhat to stem the embarrassment he was now feeling. True, he never paid much attention to members of the opposite sex, hell Brooke did that enough for the both of them, though when he did he never usually fell over. "I guess I know what the phrase, fall at your feet, means now."
"Yeah, I know you are but you know." Bryn ran a hand through his hair and gave a cheeky smirk, "Theres always time for a quick fling in a broom closet." He looked straight on now, trying not to laugh as he did. His eyes scanned the street, looking anywhere but his aunts face. Being a prefect made it hard to be able to have a laugh and now Bryn took every chance he got, even if he did get some mental scars because of it.
The hanging heads at the door opened their mouths as if to say no underage wizards today, but when they saw Lois they must have thought better of it and instead welcomed them to the pub. The air was thick and full of smoke, what laws applied in the Muggle World, like no smoking in the workplaces or in pubs, obviously didnt apply here in the Wizarding World. The stale smell of firewhisky hit his nose as he took a deep breath, walking slowly behind Lois he was only brought out of his small world when she yelled, "You tell them." He mumbled with a grin and sat down facing Lois. "So, how's work been? Have you seen mum much?" Bryn always asked about Addie since he rarely saw her himself, "She was down in Hogsmeade last weekend but I was too busy with prefect stuff so I couldnt go. Brooke just chose not to but Alicia went."
