April Showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. It had rained every day for a week. Farrah was certain that the April weather would soon pass, and she was right. She woke up on a happy friday to see the sky blue as anythings. Big wispy clouds flew past as the heavy wind blew. The sun was finally allowing the earth to dry under it and the up coming flowers to gain some much needed sun.
Farrah sat looking out her window. She had woken up hours ago, and the day had seemed to fly by. Her classes were over for the day, and she still had three or so hours until dinner. Farrah gazed out the window making sure that the sun had waited for her. Sure enough it had. Farrah quickly jumped up, smile across her face, stripping her robes immediately and throwing on jeans, tshirt, hoodie and rain boots; there was bound to still be mud, and Farrah liked the excuse to wear the outrageous boots.
Down the stairs she flew and out the large front doors. The grass seemed greener then it was yesterday, the sun doing wonders. Where to go? Farrah had the whole expanse of grounds to herself. She looked around, taking in ideas. Her eyes fell upon a shimmer far down the green and just into the forest. The glimmer sparkled again, and Farrah was caught. She started to walk, which turned into a jog, which turned into a run, down toward the Forbidden Forest.
Farrah stopped just on the edge of the forest. She looked deep inside, squinting in the shadows of the trees. She couldn't see anything shining. She took a step into the forest, thinking she was just at a bad angle. Still nothing. Farrah continued to take steps into the forest. The Gryffindor heard a distinctive stick break under the weight of a step that was not her own. Farrah stopped, looked up. "Stop playing around." Farrah said, expecting anything to to pop out of the bushes.

Kendal was just in dire need of a quiet place. Lately it seemed that more and more students were spending time in their common rooms. This made for noise all the time, when there were times during the day you could sit there in peace. From the moment she had woken up that morning kids were going ballistic running around, screaming, setting off dungbombs in front of everyone else in order to let off some steam. Finally, Kendal escaped to the Great Hall for breakfast.
Oddly enough she thought maybe just maybe the common room would have emptied some, but the second she opened the door a huge burst of noise met her ears as two boys had taken to fighting in the middle of the room. Kendal was tired of this nonsense so she walked in and started screaming at the two boys. No she wasn't a prefect of anything but as a seventh year she did deserve a modicum of respect. Trying to break up a fight was probably not the best idea but she didn't care. She should have though because she ended up getting hit and falling on the floor. The glare she gave both boys was enough to make them stop.
Kendal not normally one to get into confrontations or even arguments simply lost it. Her voice rose twice it's normal range as she went off. Her wand even came out as she began to throw curses at them. When she was all done, she simply smirked turned and walked out. There was a rise in her blood pressure things were just miserable here at school when they had once been fun. Kendal thought of going to the library since at least there it would be quiet but she changed her mind and opted to head outside to get some fresh air which was what she desperately needed.
She had no set destination she just kept walking trying to snap out of a bad mood. When she reached the edge of the forest her foot made contact with a stick which broke underneath her weight. Had it not been for that she never would have known someone else was out there. It wasn't until she heard a voice say stop playing around that she realized not even outside was safe if you wanted to be by yourself. "No one's playing" she called back to the bodiless voice. "Show yourself if you don't mind" she asked starting to wonder if this was friend or foe.

Post by Arabelle Thomas on Apr 12, 2009 2:29:20 GMT
It seemed that huge bucket of never ending water had been doused on the planet and the saying rain rain go away wasn't working anymore. Arabelle had almost lost hope. April meant spring was coming, but it seemed that the only thing that spring brought was rain. Boring, blah, colorless, wet rain. The slippery substance only seemed to make people want to stay indoors or sleep all day which meant more nonsense and kids going crazy. It's like what happens when there is a natural disaster everybody around you freaks out like the world is going to end, but in her situation it was only rain.
Arabelle awoke the next morning to find rays of sunshine she thought had gone away forever shining through her window. She could have sat their all day staring at the wonderful array of lights that it formed, but that would be wasting a beautiful day outside. Of course she figured that's where everybody would be, but to her surprise a lot of the Gryffindors were still in the cooped up in the Common Room. This told Ara immediately that today she would be outside for as long as possible. She ran upstairs pulled on a red hoodie, grabbed her wand, and ran out all of the doors until she reached the lovely green grass.
Of course there were still puddles of muddy, stagnate water, but she didn't care. Anywhere was better than being inside with a bunch wild banshees. Noticing that there were also tons of students with the same idea as her, but most were huddled by the lake. It was glinting with such passion, but Arabelle was in search of escaping the world, so somewhere quiet would be more what she was looking for. The Forbidden Forest was exactly her spot when she wanting to soak in the sun or have a chat with her friends, but it seemed that today the dark, but warm cluster of trees would be nice.
Skipping over to the forest Ara wandered for awhile looking at the ground for a dry spot. When finding one, Arabelle planted herself against the trunk of the tall tree and did some thinking. She wasn't sure when she'd go inside, whether she'd want to eat later on, or what she'd think about, but it was quiet and that was what she needed. Some sunshine was showing overhead and making weird patterns through the trees and as Arabelle was admiring the work of natures beauty she heard voices. At first she heard a young girl. She was wondering if people were playing tricks on her, but as far as Ara was concerned she was the only one in here. She thought twice about saying something, not really in the mood for conversation, so she just sat there. Then another more sophisticated voice spoke, asking the girl to reveal herself. That was all of the muffled sounds Ara could make out. She decided to just listen for awhile and when the time came show herself.
