Rosa hadn't seen much of Paige around lately. Her sister made some new friends and forgot all about her. Some guy had already turned Paige's head. Her mother had warned them but Rosa was usually the only one who listened. So far she hadn't really met anyone still felt like a total and complete outsider. Kids in her classes didn't want to get to know her they seemed to like staring at her wondering why she was only just coming to Hogwarts. Instead of asking her they simply stared, pointed and made comments.
Nothing was as she had expected it to be. She wanted to talk to Paige but her sister was off somewhere and Rosa had tired of looking for her after about an hour. Instead of going back to her common room or hiding out in the library Rosalind decided that she would simply just go outside. On her first night she had gotten a glimpse of the grounds and she wanted to explore them. Since she was alone she thought this would be an excellent time to do it.
There was a chill in the air so she thew on a lightweight corduroy jacket. It went nicely with her white short sleeved shirt, and stone washed boot cut jeans. The black ankle length boots were zipped up tight.
Once outside the newbie just walked around. Of course she had no idea where she was going but that was the fun of it all. She went this way and that way, saw the Quidditch Pitch, found the lake. Stood at the edge of the forbidden forest. It was all such great fun. The fun soon tuckered her out, not ready to go back in she decided to stay outside and sit on the ground. Still on the edge of the forest. Odd how the word forbidden made things more inviting more interesting. Being a coward made her sit outside but part of her wanted to go in see why it was forbidden. How scary could it be?
The light started to dim the air became a bit more chilly Rosalind didn't want to leave though. Outside there was no one staring at her inside she was the topic of conversation. A noise behind her caused her to swivel her head to the left. In the distance she could make out the figure of a girl walking her way. The Ravenclaw threw her head back exasperated. This was the last thing she wanted or needed.

Boy oh boy she was hopped up on chocolate and going a bit stir crazy in her room. Of course her super snotty roomie hated all the noise and asked her to leave. Not very nicely either. Not one to stay where she was not wanted Julianna left the room hanging out in the common room for a while until some stinking third year mentioned how they were about to start divination that term and they were looking forward to taking it with an actual seer. Julianna took that class last year and all it got for her trouble was a lot of dirty looks. Funny thing was they were all coming from her teacher.
Professor Edgecombe made no bones about disliking the young Gryffindor. Every time she thought about it she got so mad. Mother tried to say that it was probably all in Julia's mind but she wasn't an idiot she knew damn well when someone didn't like her. The whole thing upset her but everyone around her was brushing it off and she didn't understand why. Her sugar high went away suddenly.
Her feet carried her outside. Not like she needed the fresh air or anything she just ended up out there somehow. She could head back in but then what. Sit there and wonder why some woman hated her guts for no reason. All this thinking made her want to do something reckless. There was always the forbidden forest. Julianna had never gone in before but how bad could it really be. Only one way to find out right.
The forest came into view but so did someone else. A girl was sitting on the grass first she was staring at the forest next she was turning to see Julianna walking her way. Having twenty twenty vision Julianna saw her perfectly from where she was and right away she knew that she didn't have a clue who she was. Thinking that it would be nice to be friendly she kept walking until she reached her.
"You know they say even sitting outside the forest can lead to grave danger. The creatures have no qualms about coming out of there to do some damage to girls who sit out here alone in the dark." Making an evil face and trying to keep it she looked down at her.

Privacy was a four letter word around here. Home wasn't as bad compared to this, at least there if she wanted to be alone, collect her thoughts, she had her own room where no one entered unless she allowed it. Here at school there were people around all the time. Even outside on the grounds, the one place she thought she might have some peace and quiet someone else had to come along and ruin that. Paige would have been a much better interruption than this girl.
Kids there hadn't been that nice to her always staring at her like she was an alien. Sometimes they even talked about her loudly so she could hear as if she had no feelings. So far nice and Hogwarts didn't go together. Now she had some girl coming up to her that was probably no better. Maybe she was out here on a dare try to mess with the new girl and all of that. Rosa didn't want to get into a confrontation with anyone but if she was going to be messed with then this girl was going to get hers.
The dark haired girl made her approach. Rosa tried to look cheerful maybe smile a little but her face didn't agree because what came off was a grimace. That was fine since what came out of the girls mouth wasn't a hello, wasn't an introduction, she just started talking about the forest and how things could get at her even from out there. Rosa stared at her a moment or two before rolling her eyes. Already she didn't seem to like this girl. Rosa rudely turned her head back to the edge of the forest. "I guess I'll be hurt then" placing one leg over the other Rosa now sat Indian style on the now warm grass.
Not her usual behavior but she wasn't feeling very nice herself so far school wasn't what she thought it was. In her mind she thought Paige would be the one homesick first because she was younger but it turned out to be Rosa. A wave of emotion swept through her just then. There were images flashing through her mind her mother and father laughing and telling them a story before bed, practicing their magic at the kitchen table while their father clapped and hooted when they succeeded, the fun the love of a happy home. Now that was what she longed for not this. She was close to crying but she would not allow the other girl the satisfaction so she held her tears back while still pretending to be interested in the forest.

"I think that's a little harsh, Miss Farraday," Archi said groughly, pulling his coat around his shoulders more tightly, "don't you?"
Archi was coming out of the forest and had heard voices near to where he was exiting the forest and thought that the slght detour wouldn't do any harm. He wasn't entirely sure about that fact standing with the two girls as he was. The one seemed to be hurt and the other didn't seem to have noticed. The healer wasn't about to ask questions or prod so let that stand.
In one of the healer's hads was a small paper bag, speackled with dirt and with a soggy bottom. He didn't pay it any attention, othe then holding it. The short man looked from the one girl to the other, contemplatively. He was never very good with girls, a fact that some always seemed to rubbed in his face when a girl came into the Infirmary.
Clearing his throat, Archi felt that it wasn't as cold or clammy outside of the tree line and he let go of the scruff of his coat. "So ..." he began, his blue eyes moving from one girl to the other, "isn't it a little late for studnets to be outside of the castle?" The most interesting question the healer could come up with.

Some people weren't meant to be messed with. Her little joke didn't seem to go over so well. Shot down, rejected by the new girl. Julianna couldn't catch a break so it seemed. Maybe her joke was a little mean but jeez it was just a joke there was no need to get so snippy. Julianna was usually understanding she liked to take other people's feelings into consideration but this time she didn't see the need for that sort of animosity. The girl wouldn't even look at her anymore.
Crossing her arms Julia said nothing and just looked into the distance trying to understand why the girl sitting down on the ground seemed to be in such a foul mood. Maybe she met Professor Edgecombe, Julia thought to herself which made her laugh to herself. Until she saw movement in the distance. Jumping back, she tripped on a branch and fell on her butt thinking how great it was her comment was coming back to bite her in the butt.
Then she saw him coming from inside the forest, the healer Mr. Nish. As she sat on the floor watching him come closer she figured they'd be getting a telling off for being out at this time. First, he decided to say something about Julia's joke, which she was already getting annoyed about, "It was only a joke" she grumbled before hearing him mention the lateness of the hour. "I just needed some fresh air sir and it's not all that late is it?"
