"JUST SHUT UP" she screamed across the common room. He was being insufferable as always and she was simply sick of it. For some reason he was under the delusion that she listened to him. Oh he was in for a rude awakening. She lifted her hand in a gesture that signified a slap was coming on, when someone grabbed her by the waist spun her in the opposite direction and told her to calm down. Red-head with a temper the rescuer called her. He was damn right she had a fiery temper to go with her fiery red hair and if someone wanted to test it they were welcomed to. She had shown just how fiery a temper it was and hoped he would lay off her from now on, because one of these days there'd be no one around to protect him from her.
Pulling a way from her captor she just screamed once more making several first years sitting on the couch by the window jump up in fright. Paying no attention to the midgets with no brain Ginny simply glared at him one last time before leaving the common room. Only one thing could calm her down when she was in this state.
Going through the oak front doors Ginny went straight to the Quidditch Pitch. That was where she could simply lose herself for a time, the wind in her hair blowing away all the negative energy of that afternoon. Heading straight for the brook cupboard she pulled out the old clean sweet she was accustomed to using. Suddenly a smile appeared the first one all day. That's the ticket a broom and the open field what more could a girl want.
Grabbing the handle she pulled it out of the cupboard, then closed it before beginning to walk to the middle of the pitch. Looking up at the sky she saw the sun was shining, clouds were at a minimum and there was only a slight breeze. Excellent conditions, putting her hair back into a ponytail (securing it with a band she had around her wrist) Ginny mounted the broom prepared to kick up from the ground, when she saw a lone figure walking in her direction.
She couldn't see who it was from that distance but she was afraid it was him, come to continue their little argument. She was ready for him if it turned out to be him. This time he'd be receiving the slap he was saved from a while ago. Ginny actually stood upright her hand poised ready for action. As the figure came closer she could make out dark hair, he didn't have dark hair. Breathing easier she realized it wasn't him so she put her hand down hoping that this someone wasn't out there to piss her off too..

"SNAP!" he shouted, albeit rather excitedly in his victory. As his hand splatted down on the cards they popped and crackled under his hand. Grinning back, he simply flicked the cards in his sister's face creating a small breeze that blew at her hair. She frowned as the air disfigured her hair and she instantly began to comb through it with her fingers to straighten it back to it's former glory. Brandon couldn't help but give a small triumphant chuckle as she laid the next card, and the game started all over again.
"You know Lexie..." he started, still continuing to lay the cards between them as they sat on the deep navy rug spread in front of the fireplace in the Ravenclaw common room. He could see her in the corner of his eye lift her head for a moment and softly scowl at him. "I don't remember you ever winning a game of Exploding snap against me... have you ever won one?" he smirked, sensing her raised eyebrows. She said nothing, and this only made Brandon smirk a little more, mocking her. "I thought not" he said, the exploding snap ego dripping from his words. After a few minutes passed in silence, only the sound of the cards being placed down and the faint tone of Lexie breathing and occasionally huffing in annoyance at her brutal loss, Brandon soon became bored and looked up to Beckii to see her strewn across the sofa like a art statue, barely moving with the book in her hands and her head on the arm of the sofa. He smiled at her and she seemed to indistinctively know, and soon turned her head and smiled back at him before quickly, and shyly, burying her head back into her book. "SNAP!!" yelled Lexie, jumping up almost instantely and milking her victory, shocking Brad into looking straight at her and jumping. He had been continuing to lay the cards without noticing. "Damnit!" he said, dropping the cards on the floor, all of which began exploding like little mini firecrackers on the floor as they burst into flame and extinquished themselves.
"I'm still the winner" he said with a small smile., hauling himself up and grabbing his jacket placed convenientely next to him. Pulling on his dark jacket, he thrust his pockets into his jeans and headed out the door. He could still here her laughing as he descended the stairs until it eventually stopped. His next stop was the quidditch pitch. It was much quieter than lapping the lake a few times and it seemed much more peaceful. Besides, going near the lake was a no no. He hadn't gotten anywhere near getting over his fear of the squid yet.
As he entered the grassy pitch, he saw a flame of red hair stood in the middle of the field, broom firmly between her legs. She stared over at him as he walked over with a look that could kill until eventually the nearer he got, the softer her face became. "Your on the quidditch team right?" he asked, just in question for some sort of conversation to get his mind off her evil glare she had just given him.

The sun shifted its position so that it was now in Ginny's eyes. She could no longer make out the face of the boy walking over, raising her had she shielded her eyes squinting she tried to figure it out. He was tall, had nice dark hair, looked to be about her age possibly a little younger but not by much. Then finally his face came into clear view. She recognized him but she was terrible with names, she could tell you what house he was in though Ravenclaw. How she knew that and not his name was anyone's guess.
Good no need to slap anyone since they didn't know each other he wouldn't be out here attempting to bother her. Too bad she had given him such a dirty look before she was just so sure it was that loser come to have another go. There was no taking back the look she'd just have to let him know it was nothing personal.
He tried to make small talk asking if she was on the Quidditch team. It wasn't a hello or anything but since Quidditch was her favorite subject she let it go. "Yes I am, the chaser actually. Hey look mate sorry about that look it wasn't technically meant for you I sort of thought you were someone else. Name's Ginny by the way Ginny Weasley."
She still introduced herself even though most people seemed to know who she was. All that red hair in one family it wasn't that common. Her whole family had attended the school the Weasley's were known in the wizarding world so people seemed to just know. Ginny tried not to take that for granted she wasn't as arrogant as some members of her family. She grimaced, she did that a lot when she thought of her brother.
"Sorry family problems didn't realize siblings could be so darned annoying. Don't even know why I'm telling you this" she laughed. She was still poised over the broom not even realizing it yet, that's what her fights with her brother did to her made her loose focus. No one else got under her skin that way it was so annoying and so was he.

The nearer he got to the red head the easier it was to pick up on the aura surrounding her. Right now if he could see it he was sure it would be as red as her hair, for anger. As she brought her hand up to shield her eyes, Brandon could see her perfectly and even now she still had a bit of a sour look on her face. This girl was not a happy bunny. Still, he was here now and was talking to her, and her tone wasn't a reflection of her voice, which to Brad was always a good sign.
Giving her a friendly smile, he listened to her and nodded when she finally introduced herself. "Weasley huh? I should of guessed. Famous red hair and all" he said with a pleasant smile, outstretching his hand and grabbing hers giving it a firm and friendly shake. "I'm Brandon Rosenberg....nothing particularly cool about me or my family name" he shrugged letting her hand go and looking himself up and down. He turned slightly to look up at the sun to judge the exact place it was. Squinting when he found the spot, he turned back to Ginny, white spots visible in his vision before they eventually got blinked away. Grabbing Ginny's wrist lightly, he pulled her over away from the blinding light of the sun and near a bench near the broom cupboard.
As they sat down the broom cupboard creeked, making Brandon send a fleeting glance over to it. It was momentary and soon he was back looking at the red head. "So how long have you played Quidditch Ginny?" he asked.

The sun had become rather annoying, but Ginny being a Quidditch player was used to it so she didn't think to move away. She probably should have since she could barely see at the moment. Looking up the saw that the sun was positioned almost right over them. She shut her eyes straight away and saw all the dazzling white light that comes with a full view of mother nature's natural light. Giving it a few seconds, she waited for them to fade away before opening her eyes again. This time she looked down at the ground. Staring at the shadows the two of them cast on the ground.
He said he should have guessed she was a Weasley, Ginny almost laughed. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad time for her to dye her hair blonde or something. Then nobody would say I should have guessed you were a Weasley. Instead she would hear, oh you're a Weasley I never would have known. She wasn't embarrassed by her family in any way but she just disliked comments like that. As he grabbed her hand and shook it Ginny realized she hadn't gotten off the broom yet. Taking his hand she held onto the broom with the other and moved it. Now she held it upright in her hand while she learned the newcomers name was Brandon Rosenberg. "Ah ok I wasn't sure of the name but I am pretty sure you in Ravenclaw right?"
Feeling a tug Ginny saw this boy pulling her probably away from the sunlight, but he didn't know her very well. No one pulled her anywhere, not unless they wanted a bat-bogey hex placed upon them. She meant to tell him so but found she couldn't find the words. That was sort of odd even for her. Ginny was probably the most outspoken Gryffindor of all time.
He led them back to where she had been only moments earlier. The broom cupboards but this time it was the bench they were after. He took a seat and Ginny took one next to him. Still unclear about why she hadn't given this boy a thorough tongue lashing like he deserved.
The subject of Quidditch came up again, he asked how long she'd been playing, again Ginny's demeanor changed she relaxed a bit and smiled this time. "Oh well for the school only the last few years, but at home since I was about nine. Do you play?"
