There was a burst of the sunny light from outside shining through the unclosed window Emmalynn left open last night. It was so darn hot outside hat Emma, who is naturally cold natured, had to open a damn window to get some cool air. Yes, this was in the middle of the night. Em didn't sleep well in the first place, but bring on the heat and you might as well say hello to hell! Emma had been magically waking up to the sun this past week, because it seems to be becoming routine to get up in the middle of the night and open the window and fall asleep on the window seel. How pathetic!
Emmalynn squinted her eyes out the window, straight into the sun, as she stretched her arms and lifted her head from where it had been lying awkwardly on the window seel. It was sticky with sweat and Emma went immediately to take a shower. She stripped of all her clothes and felt the refreshingness cool her. Once finished she put on some shorts, a Ravenclaw tee, flip-flops, and just pulled her hair up, there was not a point in drying it... the sun would do that itself.
On her way out, Em whirled around to check the clock. Bloody hell, ten o'clock exact I missed breakfast! Emmalynn began to curse at herself as she exited the common room and jogged up the gazillion sets of stairs she did everyday. Coming to a halt at the grand oak doors Emma stared around. What would she do today? Whatever she wanted... was her answer and she sprinted outside.

“Leavemelone”
Came the garbled response from under the bed sheets. Leyla’s cat, Munch, was currently mewling in her ear, while pawing at her face. Groaning, the girl tugged the blankets over her head, covering the cat with her. But, Munch just continued to paw at her face, mewing all the while. Looked like there was going to be no sleeping in this time. Stupid early rising cat. Weekend meant no classes, no classes meant sleeping in, and obviously Munch didn’t understand that.
Leyla grudgingly got up and grabbed the cat in her arms. She set down Munch on her chest full of old knickknacks and such as she changed. The girl just threw on a random T-shirt she happened to find and slipped on some shorts. With a quick glance at the clock, she was glad to find that breakfast would just be clearing out. Scooping up the mewing kitty, Leyla tossed on her shoes and raced down the stairs, eager to grab something for breakfast.
Once down there, she noted that there was mostly fruit left. Shrugging, the girl grabbed an orange and left the Great Hall, not really wanting to eat in there alone. The solution? Eat outside, where Munch could run where she wanted and not be scolded for it. Speaking of the furball, she hopped lightly onto Leyla’s shoulder and lay across, stretching behind her neck and curling her tail around it. A light purr arose from the cat as she rubbed her face against Leyla’s cheek.
“Yea, yea, I love you too.” She muttered, petting the cat softly. Leyla walked outside, grinning as a rush of warm air hit her. She much preferred the summer and spring to the winter. Fall was alright, but spring had to be her favorite. With all the blooming flowers, and of course the buckets of rain, because every flower needed some rain. And Leyla happened to love the rain. She had ever since she was younger, for whatever strange reason.
Sighing, the Gryffindor plopped down on the grass, and Munch hopped lightly from her shoulders. The cat began to attack Leyla’s shoelaces, which brought a smile to the young girl’s face. She slowly began to peel at the orange in her hand, until her train of thought was interrupted by a girl running past her. Blinking, Leyla squinted her eyes to try to see who it was, but it happened so quickly that she couldn’t even tell. How odd.
“Well, there’s something you don’t see every day.”

Finally, one of the first and probably one of the only days of summer that would have a breeze. Emmalynn could feel the wind through her hair and it beating against her face as she sprinted down the lawns. Emma was complicated. She liked summer, 'cause there were no classes, she could leave the school at her will, and there were free visits to Hogsmede whenever she pleased, but Em also preferred other seasons, because of the tempeture outside. And Summer was not her favorite!
Emmalynn always ran with her eyes closed, she seemed to get less dizzy and have fewer headaches that way. But just at the write second Em went to slow down and peeled her eyes open against the wind to notice a very cute, fluffy, and soft cat scratching the tar out of a girl's shoelaces. Emma came to a stop only a few feet away from the girl and her cat and took a long stare. The girl and her cat were a beautiful pair.
She wheeled around on her heel and started back up the hill she just got done running in record time. Emmalynn smiled at the girl as she walked up. "Hi, do you mind if I pet your cat?" she asked,"She is very pretty..." Without an answer Em figured she didn't care, so she bent down to pet the cat. "So-" Em wanted to meet this girl, she had never seen her before, so what a perfect day to start!

The breeze tugged lightly at the edge of her hair, blowing it away from her face. Leyla leaned back on her hands and tilted her head to one side, resting it on her shoulder. She watched with an amused look as Munch attacked her shoes, probably pretending it was one of her many toys. Leyla moved her foot from side to side, taunting the little kitty. She let out a small laugh as Munch pounced and looked at her with that triumphant look.
She could feel someone staring, and slowly she looked up to see a girl, standing only a few feet away. Leyla blinked, waiting for her to do something. The girl dashed up to her side then dropped down to her knees. Again, Leyla blinked. “Sure?” Munch seemed startled for a moment, before she began purring at the girl’s touch. At least the little cat was having a good time right? That was the main reason Leyla did come out here after all.
“So, I’m Leyla.”
The Gryffindor finished for the Claw, with a small grin on her face. She leaned forward and stretched out her hand, waiting for the other girl to take it. “And that there is Munch. Her real name is Abby, but I like her nickname much more. Plus, she seems to respond to Munch more than Abby.” As if in response, “Munch” trotted over to Leyla and jumped onto her lap. She curled up and gave a small mew, demanding petting.
Sighing, Leyla let her hand stroke over the cat’s soft fur, before she looked back up at the unnamed girl. “Were you running from something, or just running for the sake of running?”

Emmalynn crouched their on her knees and began to pet the little kitty. After a minute or so the girl responded and said she could pet her, but she was a Gryffindor, so she wasn't going to be rude and say no, well Emma only figured she wouldn't. Smiling she replied,"Thanks!" and continued.
Moments later the started talking. Em didn't have many friends, so getting to talk to this girl was very nice. She said her name and Emma replied with her own,"It's very nice to meet you Leyla, i'm Emmalynn, but you can call me Emma if you like." She smiled... most of her friends, the ones she did have, called her either Emma or Em, but never Emmalynn.
Emmalynn laughed when Leyla went into detail on her cats name. It was hard for her to keep up, but finally got it. "Well I must agree with you, Munch is a much cuter name!" She laughed and watched as she girl petted her kitty.

Dorian had always liked to get up early it was one of those things that appealed to him. He had been up before the sun that morning, just sitting on his bed counting scratches on the floor until he decided to go for a walk outside; where the air was cooler and didn't smell of his room-mates foul breath. The morning was beautiful sunny, clear, innocent like it had never seen blood or death or anything unhappy before; only peace calm and new beginings. 'Everyone knew under that green grass was death, decay and bones' thought Dorian smiling grimly to himself.
He didn't really like being alone though, it was one of those things that drove him mad; it made him want to scream or kick something. He was about to do one of those things when he saw or rather heard two girls giggling and laughing while petting a cat. He tried to edge over with out looking like he was trying too hard, but when your in a large open field and you can easily avoid running into someone this is a difficult and rather stupid looking tactic. So, never wanting to look like the fool he decided to use the straightforeward tactic and aprouched them smiling. "Hey, what are you two laughing about?" He crossed his fingers behind his back hoping he didn't look like an idiot.
