It was Shaun's first day back at Hogwarts. The summer hadn't gone as well as he had hoped but he was looking forward to seeing everyone again. He wondered how long it'd take to find Miss Via Thorn in the mess of Hufflepuffs. The two were supposed to get together over the summer but because of Shaun's parents, he was stuck at a form of camp all summer. Another thing that bugged him was the fact that he wasn't able to owl Alexis enough over the summer. He liked her but he never really got the chance to tell her before the school year ended but that was the joy of a new year.
Classes would start soon and sure enough, Shaun would be failing like he was last year, nothing new there. He knew he'd be stuck up in the Library again studying, and if not, then with Alexis trying to get some help with his homework so he figured he might as well get his running about out of his system.
Outside the sun was shinning and the breeze was light yet wasn't a nuisance to anyone. Shaun wasn't sure what he was going to do out here but either way, he was walking around, both hands in his pockets enjoying himself in muggle clothes before the actual school year started. He was wandering aimlessly until a figure appeared before him. It was a girl, a fellow student and someone Shaun didn't know yet. He walked up to her with a friendly smile and gave a small wave, "You look like you're enjoying yourself out here," he said to the girl.

It was Stephanie's first day back at Hogwarts. She spent most of the day unpacking, but after that she went outside the castle and to the lawn. She wasn't in the mood to talk. Her boyfriend and her had only broken up yesterday and then she had to come to Hogwarts. Stephanie didn't understand. He wanted the truth and she told him the truth. She was out of town for the year and she would see him next summer. Well of course he wanted more of an explanation and she couldn't possibly tell him she was a Witch. So Cannon and her broke up and she left without saying good-bye. Now that she was out here alone she felt horriable. How was she going to see Tuck later tonight, in this condition?
"You look like you're enjoying yourself out here," "Excuse me." she said shyly, but sounding upset. "I'm sorry, but I am not enjoying myself. I hope you are, though." she replied tearing up. {sorry my muse isn't with me at the moment}

[[ hope you don't mind if i join ]]
It had been a long day yesterday, a long night, a long morning, and now it was presently about to be a long afternoon. Blakely had gone home over the summer for just a few weeks toward the end; of course to check on her siblings and her mother. Ever since her father was burned to death in their house fire her family had never been the same. She worried about them day and night, but things would never change.
Blakely sat in the Hufflepuff Common Room bored as could be. She had already finished unpacking the little clothes she had brought to Wales with her. Watching the fire crackle and pop in it's fernace was getting old. Glancing around Blake noticed a Hufflepff Boy about her same year walk out. She debated on following him. He was already out and probably outside before Blakely left her laziness aside and jumped up to follow.
It was sunny, but sort of chilly. Blakely couldn't make up her mind. She wrapped her jacked around her and decided it was Autmn she shouldn't be cold! And just as she suspected the boy was nowhere in sight. She looked around and went through the Grand Oak Doors. And sure enough the boy was standing in the lawn already talking to some Gryffindor girl, looking a bit younger than the herself. Smiling, Blake heard him say:
"You look like you're enjoying yourself out here,"
And yes she did, but as Blakely approached she didn't hear her response, but only saw the tears welling up in her eyes. "Hello!" Blakely said cheerfully. Turning to the girl she said,"What's wrong?" Seeing that she didn't answer right away Blakely spun on her heel to face the both of them.

How was Shaun supposed to know that the Gryffindor Girl would be upset by his simple statement? He wasn't a mind reader, only a boy trying to meet a new friend. His smile faded when her voice came out upset. Shaun might've been a dim boy but he couldn't stand seeing a girl cry, it pretty much made him do anything he could to make it up to them even if it wasn't his fault.
He wouldn't reached out for the girl to reassure her that everything was fine, but he didn't know what was wrong nor did he even know her name. And if you didn't know someone, I'm sure you wouldn't like them touching you, so Shaun just stood there silently, his shoulders slightly hunched and his face burning red from embarrassment.
He would've said something as well but he couldn't find anything to say. Thankfully he was saved when another girl approached. Alright, so Blakely wouldn't be his savior after all. She asked the girl what was wrong and when she didn't answer, she turned on him. He raised his hands in defense, "Hey, hey! Don't look at me. I didn't do this, I don't even know who she is," he said pointing to the younger girl.

Stephanie watched as the girl approached, yelling at the guy. "I...It's not his fault. I just had a really bad break up and it kind of upset me. I didn't mean tothrough anything on you, I'm sorry." Steph muttered. She was tired, hurt, sick, unloved and forgotton. What more could happen today? She wasn't in the mood to talk anymore and she wanted to leave, but knowing that wasn't going to happen.
She watched as boyfriend and Girlfriends walked around. Steph got a pain in the gut and felt bad. She wanted to go home and work things out with Cannon. It would have to wait until winter break, though. She was tired of losing him, mabe its fate that they broke up. Nobody will know until the day comes that they meet again.

The sun came out and that forced Blakely to have to take off her jacket. Why couldn't mother nature just make up her mind on what the weather could be. Or maybe fate just make the weather man right for a change. But living in the magical world, someone could say a worng spelll and make it snow for all you knew. It was quite a funny concept if you think about it.
"Hey, hey! Don't look at me. I didn't do this, I don't even know who she is,"
As soon as Blake came back into reality and out of Blakely's La La land, Shaun threw his hands up unexpectantly. "Ha, that wasn't meant offesnively Shaun, but alright, i'm not going to arrest you and make you live in Azkaban!" Blakely joked. She didn't know Shaun very well, but knew of him. They had met once or twice, but never really become super good friends. But Blake could tell now...
"I...It's not his fault. I just had a really bad break up and it kind of upsetted me. I didn't mean tothrough anything on you, I'm sorry."
Now Blakely just felt that the girl was being pathetic. Blake knew Shaun well enough to know that girls didn't just go up to him and start crying and telling him about their love life. This caused Blakely to giggle. She held her breath to stop herself, but it was hard. Pulling herself together Blake said,"Oh honey we understand." As she did this, Blake's eyes settled on Shaun.

Shaun looked from Blakely to the younger Gryffindor girl with a confused expression on his face. How did he always manage to find himself surrounded by girls? If his friends were here with him, they'd be able to break the ice with some comment or sly joke but it was just Shaun who was standing around looking like a complete fool. He looked at Blakely and gave a rather embarrassed laugh, "Er, yeah, Azkaban wouldn't be my first choice of prison," he commented back.
Finally, the younger girl explained why she was so upset. So it wasn't Shaun's fault after all. he was almost worried that the girl was upset because he had simply said the wrong thing to her. Knowing Shaun, that could've been the truth. He wasn't really known for ever saying the right thing. Shaun still was usure what to say to the girl, infact, what came out of his mouth next deserved a slap, "It's alright. I'm sure you'll find someone better. I mean, you do go to a coed school, there's guys everywhere." Shaun made a face at himself, how could he have said that? Right... bring on the pain.
When he heard Blakely's response, he had to stifle back a laugh. How could he possibly understand what the younger girl was going through? Shaun had never really had a real relationship before, nor was he ever dumped. The only thing that came close to this was when he was five years old and little Kitty Carey wouldn't kiss him on the playground. Suddenly he realized Blake's eyes were on him and he made a face at her... his tongue out as if he was five years old again. Way to seem mature Shaun Zinn.
[[haha! I hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please don't pay any attention to little immature Shaun. He's just never been alone with two girls... especially when one of them is crying and the other is starting at him.]]

Steph stopped crying. "It's OK, he wasn't that good of a boyfriend. The only reason we broke up was, because I was a witch and he couldn't know." she blabbed out.
"It's alright. I'm sure you'll find someone better. I mean, you do go to a coed school, there's guys everywhere." "Yea, maybe if I find someone here I can be honest with him and myself." Steph stated getting excited. She looked at Shaun for the first time in the conversation. He was hot. She didn't even notice, but he was really hot. How come she didn't notice that earlier? "I just want to make some friends this year, I have a bunch, but I want to make some that aren't in my own house. I am determined to make at least three Slytherins my friends this year." she smirked.

It had been a very long day. And now Blakely was left with a Hufflepuff her own age, who was one of her friends, and a pathetic Gryffindor who just got dumped. How sad... what a great end to the perfect day. Blake had to feel a little pity for the girl, but she couldn't find any. She was only fifteen, she couldn't really think she would get in a serious relationship. And if she did Blakely would go find a counselor for her. A little giggle erupted from Blake as she got a picture in her head.
"It's alright. I'm sure you'll find someone better. I mean, you do go to a coed school, there's guys everywhere."
Blakely laughed out loud. Shaun always knew how to get a good laugh out of someone and of course Blake wouldn't send him to Azkaban. "Good one Shaun..." Blake said as she patted him on the back. "And hun, i'm sure you'll find someone, just wait, fate will bring you together!" Blakely said reassuring her, but she really should wait till she's older. Blake looked into the girls eyes and could guess she was crushing on Shaun... hmmm how would that go over?
"I just want to make some friends this year, I have a bunch, but I want to make some that aren't in my own house. I am determined to make at least three Slytherins my friends this year."
That was a good thought, but hey it probably wouldn't happen. "Just a heads up, sometimes it's better to have friends in your own house 'cause they are like you and you can always go to them and trust them!" Blake said with true honesty. It's not as easily as it looks.

Steph looked at the sky and back down at the people. She had noticed it starting to darken, but not by much. She wanted to go and finish unpacking, but she didn't know if it was proper to leave or not. At the same moment she started thinking of Cannon and now that she realized it, he wasn't that great. He was a stupid, dumb, ugly, people hogger, type of guy. What had she ever seen in that? She heard Blakely giggle a bit and couldn't help, but giggle with her. She didn't exactly know why Blakely was giggling, but she just realized how stupid she was being on the breaking up situation.
"It's alright. I'm sure you'll find someone better. I mean, you do go to a coed school, there's guys everywhere." Stephanie couldn't help, but laugh at that one. "True, I could definitely find someone around here that wants to date. There will always be someone." she answered him. She watched as Blakely answered and then patted him on the back. She looked around the grounds and saw a ton of boys by themselves. That didn't mean they didn't have girlfriends, but some had to be single. Though it did cross Steph's mind that she should wait till she is at least another year older. "And Hun, I'm sure you'll find someone, just wait, fate will bring you together!" "Yea your right, when I am meant to love, love will find me, not the other way around." she smirked, finally getting over her boyfriend. She was a pure-blood who went and visited her friend's grandma over the summer and met a guy that wasn't meant to be. "You know I might just wait till I am a little bit older. Love can wait right?" she said answering and asking a question at the same time. "Just a heads up, sometimes it's better to have friends in your own house 'cause they are like you and you can always go to them and trust them!" "I actually have a lot of friends in my own house. It is that my brother is in Slytherin, my cousin in Hufflepuff, and my best friend before school started is in Ravenclaw. So I actually want to meet more people of there kind, but I do agree you can't trust them all, especially Slytherin." she stated, after listening to Blakely speak.
