Things at the school were going from bad to worse. People were changing those she used to count as friends were turning on her being as rude as any Slytherin out there. The school's paintings and suits of armor were even attacking students. At first she thought they were rumors but she witnessed something with her own two eyes. A suit of armor actually tried to attack her. She was cornered in a classroom all alone but somehow managed to escape its evil clutches.
So much for rumors the school it seemed was under attack. The students weren't safe within its walls, and the question was why. The teachers knew something was up they had to know it. Question is why weren't they telling the students anything, preparing the students for what might be coming. So they were all fending for themselves trying to make sure not to get hurt by the objects they used to regard as quirky parts of the castle's decor.
All of these things kept her mind so occupied that she had to just get out for a while. Outside seemed to be the safest place for to be. Normally it wasn't so packed out there but now it was jam packed with students trying to escape the horrors inside. Kids were laying on the grass trying to catch some rays, huddled in corners whispering about this or that, playing fanged frisbee with their quidditch mates. Kendal made her way to the lake. The site of it soothed her her soul.
Pulling off shoes and socks, moving to the edge Kendal sat down and put her feet in the cool water. Kicking she splashed herself but didn't mind even though the water was cold. Her feet were feeling the cold as it traveled through her body cooling down the rest of her. For the first time in weeks she felt like a regular girl living a regular witchy life. No fear of having her head chopped off by a whacked out steel suit. But she couldn't help wonder what in the world was going on. The teachers knew something of that she was sure but how to know what they knew...She needed a plan.

Matthew couldn't believe what was happening at Hogwarts. The school is completely going hay wired. With the suits of armor and paintings attacking students from left to right. There is no escaping the cruel and unusual events thats going on.
Just a couple of days ago, Matthew was walking down from the Ravenclaw Common Room to go eat dinner and one of the suits chased him all the way to the Great Hall. He doesn't know why none of the professors have done anything about it. Maybe they could be in on it, like some kind of sick joke. For some odd reason that really won't leave his mind that could be true. But then he doesn't know why the professors would do something like that in the first place.
But to get his mind off the whole situation, Matthew decided to go to the lake to rest his nerves a bit. Matthew just wish he didn't have to be bothered again with the ciaos around the school. Why can't the school just go back to normal with the peace. Even though there really isn't any peace around Hogwarts with the clash of rival houses. However, at least that'll be better than what is going on now.
Matthew finally made it to the lake and how crowed it was. He never saw a site like this before. It could have possibly been the whole school, that was outside today. Luckily there was still some space for more people to join, since everyone was broken up into their own little groups. What a best time to talk to people because it seem that everyone was out. But yet again, Matthew didn't feel like entertaining a large group of people. Plus the whole group would be mostly girls since they are drawn to him for some reason. He couldn't complain, but sometimes he can justed to be by himself or with the guys.
As Matthew made his way to the lake. Friends of his were calling out his name. Matthew would give his genuine smile and wave but kept on walking. In the distance he could see a single figure sitting at the edge of the lake. He couldn't tell whether it was a male or female. So he was curious on to whom it was. As he got closer the figure got more distinct. It was defiantly a female with her long brunette hair. Matthew smiled and made his way over.
" May I join you?"
The Ravenclaw boy asked politely.

Sun was streaming down on the lawns causing bright patches that seemed to sparkle just for her. Up above the clouds were floating by forming different shapes as they went. For a while she sat there simply deciphering shapes, there was a cloud that looked like a bunny, one like a turtle, there was even a cute one that looked like a furry little puppy. This was the kind of distraction she needed. For weeks worry had been plaguing her and now she found the time to just be.
Other students were feeling it too for in the background the sounds of giggling, and laughing, talking and whispering. Kids finally getting to act like kids if only for a little while. These were the days she longed for and hated not having. People always said inside the castle was the safest place, now it was the grounds. One thing she could say this place was never boring.
Her feet in the water still she could feel something tickling her toes. Moving forward just a little there it was the squid Kendal froze momentarily wondering if the creature some students regarded as a friend had turned like everything else here in the school. Kendal wanted to pull her feet out had even started to and then she thought better of it. The squid was also known to be sensitive and had no problems expressing his anger to a student. One or more kids messing with it had gotten pulled into the lake and Kendal really didn't know how to swim. So far nothing out of the ordinary was happening it was just playing with her feet making her want to giggle. All this paranoia was no good for her.
So of course something should happen next to freak her out. Someone had come up behind her a voice suddenly appeared. Kendal now did pull her feet out of the water and jump up to standing. Her hand was on her back pocket in not time ready for anything. Anything being a boy. She let out a breath as her free hand clutched her chest. "Boy you gave me a scare. I never even heard you coming, guess the castle is really getting to me." Reclaiming her seat on the grass she slipped her feet back into the water the squid had found something better to do so there was no more tickling. "Sure I'd like it if you joined me." A smile appeared her way of making up for her earlier reaction.

"Boy you gave me a scare. I never even heard you coming, guess the castle is really getting to me."
Matthew felt bad for scaring her. He really didn't mean to. By the way she jumped up to her feet to grab her wand was probably pretty bad. Matthew didn't even realize how quite he was when he approached her. But then Matthew could be since there is so many people around that blocked out his foot steps. However, he didn't mean no harm and hopefully things go smoothly with the pretty girl.
"Sure I'd like it if you joined me."
Matthew couldn't help but smile. He stopped, noticing how attractive she truly was. Despite the colors her eyes were...kinda, as a gray color. He loved unique eyes, brown and blue where so plain but gray, that was truly something different. He was also very attracted to her eyes, because they were quite unique. He loved nice eyes and found himself looking into them for longer then he had hoped. He felt his face heating up, and knew that it was red and flushed. He hoped she didn't notice it and he looked away quickly and sat down.
"Thanks. Oh I'm Matthew, Matthew Thornton,"
Matthew sat down beside her. He gazed off into the distance, at the lake. How beautiful the site was. Matthew never really sat outside just to admire the scenery. But he wasn't here for this, Matthew was here to enjoy his company with this girl. And speaking of this girl she was truly something. She wasn't like the normal girls he saw around here. She looks like she doesn't look for attention; which Matthew likes in a girl.
"So what brings you out here?"
He really was courious. Even though it probably could be what is happening inside the castle. However he still wanted to make a friendly conversation.

It had been some time since she had really socialized with anyone. Most of the time she kept to herself life was easier that way. She was in her last year at Hogwarts and there were very few people she could say she knew. Every year she said she was going to try and be a bit more outgoing and she failed miserably. By some chance an opportunity walked up to her in the form of a boy. Kendal gave him a once over and noted that he was a really cute boy to boot.
Kendal had been perfectly content sitting there alone but the present company seemed to do wonders for her. For the first time she felt all smiley and giggly like a school girl which she still was. He kept looking at her but she tried to act like she didn't notice because she didn't want him to realize she kept looking at him too. He finally too a seat by her Kendal giggled quietly to herself before she looked away and blushed. This was new for her boys didn't usually effect her like this mostly she ignored most thinking them immature. But this one gave off a different kind of vibe a vibe that seemed to mesh well with her own.
He introduced himself to her as Matthew Thornton. A nice strong name. She had always liked the name Matthew or the short version Matt. Giving him a glance and a smile she gave up her name as well "Nice to meet you Matthew, I'm Kendal Montgomery."
Again she gave him a quick appraisal he was very handsome and so far didn't make her want to cry yuck like the other boys did. They acted so juvenile it was disgusting. So far Matthew seemed mature and had it all together. He asked what brought her outside today. Kendal took a minute to think about this but it really wasn't hard to say why. "It's dangerous in there so to get away from the safety of my common room I opted to take a nice trip outside. That and I really love coming here by the lake its so pretty the way the sun dances across the water making multi-colored jewels on its surface. And I just sounded like a bad book of poetry didn't i ?" Laughing at her own silliness she looked at him again and then started to blush. "So what brings you out here?"
