A grimace crossed that perfectly innocent face as Adelaine leaned away from the bubbling pot in front of her. Her partner seemed rather flustered by the smoke that their pot was emitting, because it didn’t look natural by any means. That is, if purple billowing smoke was natural. Addy pinched her nose and took another step back away from the thing. “I think we did something wrong. What did you add?” Her partner shook his head wordlessly and ran to go get the professor. It was only the first class of the day, and she was already screwing up. Today was going to be fantastic, she could just feel it.
Heaving a sigh, Adelaine shoved her books under her arm and stomped out of her final class. The day went by slowly, complete with mishaps and injuries. She apologized, for probably the thousandth time, to her partner in DADA, for she accidently made her grow a very large set of front teeth. It seemed that her day hadn’t gotten any better from when her and her partner nearly gassed out the entire Potions classroom from their foul smelling potion. Maybe a little fresh air would brighten her day. Or so she hoped.
Lucky for the door, she decided not to kick it open. That usually caused her to acquire too much attention for her own liking. Nobody seemed to notice as she stepped outside, which she honestly didn’t care about today. Usually, it was her and Prue walking outside, while her more vibrant sister would be talking rather animatedly about whatever happened during class. The giant amount of arm flailing tended to catch some attention. Adelaine snickered under her breath and the thought, which made people cast a few questioning looks at her.
As she made her way over to the lake, she was disappointed to find that her sister was not sitting near the water. The lake tended to be the officially unofficial meeting spot for the siblings. Sighing for probably the thousandth time that day, she dragged her feet forward and stood at the edge of the shore. She couldn’t understand how some kids would actually want to swim in the disgusting lake. The thought of swimming at all brought a shiver to her. She took a hasty step back, away from the water.
Someone grunted behind her as she bumped into them. Adelaine let out a surprised squeak, but apparently her surprise was not enough for the boy. “Shove off.” He shoved her back, pushing her away from him. And here was where her day finally decided to give her a swift kick in the rear. There was so little distance between her and the water that she had no chance of not falling it. So, flailing with all her might, Adelaine let out a scream and lurched forward into the water.
It seemed to be several moments before her head popped back up to the surface, followed by flailing arms. She opened her mouth to scream again, but only managed to inhale more water. Something tugged on her pants, and she plunged back under the water. Whatever it was seemed to be frightened off after she kicked it in her attempt to stay above the water, for it let go and she swam back up to the surface.
Fear gripped her in its cold, unyielding grasp as she flailed in the water. Common sense seemed to be thrown out the window, because the fear of drowning or being dragged under by another sea creature seemed to be at the front of her mind. The weight of her clothes wasn’t helping her fight either, because with each passing moment they only seemed to grow heavier. Her legs were starting to burn from the effort, and she was almost positive that she would freeze in the water. But, by a stroke of luck, a stray wind had a wave pushing her closer to the shore. Lunging, Adelaine gripped the grass and dragged herself onto the shore. She only managed to drag her upper body onto the shore, before she pressed her face into the grass and stopped tugging. If she wasn’t busy trying to rest her sore muscles, she would probably notice someone shouting her name.

The day passed like every other day- Caleb wandered about, smirking and snickering with his mates, pretending to be the happy-go-lucky kid he was back in his fourth year, avoiding his sisters' whenever they walked by, and trying not to fall asleep in any of his classes. He cared about his grades, but it just seemed that his classes were getting more and more boring, as if he were advanced compared to them. When his final class had ended, Caleb slapped on a happy face, following his friends from the class room.
"Did you see her? I swear she was checking me out!" "You're insane! She was checking me out!" Caleb could hear his friends arguing about the girls in their classes, but he hadn't responded. "Ay, Russo. You awake over there?" "What? Yeah, yeah I am." He smirked, punching one of his mates in the arm. "And are you insane? She was checking me out. I could tell by the look on her face." "Oh yeah? What'd it look like? This?" One of his friends pulled a face of disgust, while the others- including himself -laughed. "What? No. I think you're getting confused with when she was looking at you." This comment lead into an uproar of laughter.
The guys walked down the hallways, calling out to other friends and girls. Eventually they had made their way outside, their voices no longer echoing in the corridors. Seeing the half-walls made of stone, Caleb climbed up on top, balancing as best as he could with an armful of books. "Oi, Russo! Get down! You're going to fall, and I'm not going to be the one dragging your dead body across the lawns." He could hear the guys calling out to him, trying to get him down. The wall wasn't tall, but it wasn't an easy fall either. "Ah, shuddup would ya?" He called down, smirking. "I'm not going to fall."
Caleb walked on top of the wall, while the guys walked beside it, acting as if he wasn't feet above them. A couple times he nearly fell, giving some of the guys a scare, which he only responded with a laugh. "Ay Russo... Ain't that your sister over there?" Caleb stopped his little prancing on the wall, and looked up, only to see some guy shove the brown-haired Addy into the lake. His eyes widened. "ADDY!" He shouted, running on the wall as if it were the ground.
Jumping from the wall, and ditching his books, he ran full-speed towards the lake. "ADDY! ADDY!" Her head went underwater, and he ran as fast as his legs would let him. When Caleb reached the shore, he found Addy laying on the grass panting for a breath. "Addy! Addy!" There were no other words that he could speak, just his younger sister's name. Bending down next to her, he shook her lightly. "Addy! Addy, can you hear me?"
He was in a panic now. What was he supposed to do? He could tell she was alive, but was she even conscious? Grabbing under her armpits, he pulled her further from the lake. "Addy?" Caleb asked, his breath only a whisper now. If she was sick.. If she was close to death.. He didn't know what he would do. Of course, some very far part of his mind told him he was over reacting, but it was shoved way in the back of his mind, far from even being overlooked.

It seemed that schedules were always rigged to have all the worst classes that no one liked shoved in one day. History of Magic followed by Divination and Astrology was just a really bad combo. History of Magic was far too factual for her mind and really a class that she just snoozed through and had to get a recap of from Addy, then Astrology just went way over her head. Honestly, how could some of these people look at six stars and then be like 'Oh yeah, that's a ram. Have it you Aries people!' No, it didn't make sense at all to her, and just looked like a discombobulated shape that a three-year old might draw and say was a ram.
If there were any rams in her lesson, she'd rather it be her patronus with her actually doing some wandwork, which was the type of lesson she excelled in. 'No fun classes all day, ugh, where is Addy?' She thought with a sigh as she made her way to ditch her books and change out of the heavy material of her school robes. Gryffindor pride was much better worn in the way of a red teeshirt, or maybe a red hair ribbon, not thick robes with a badge on them. On her way outside to find the missing sister, as they usually ran into each other by the lake and it was pretty much a 'meet me there after school' deal, only unsaid.
Prue was usually the first one out there, though today she seemed to get distracted by a group of her friends that wanted her to 'tell a story' to some of their friends, which was probably some sort of inside joke on how any story involved a lot of emphasis that was more in her hands than her voice. Oh well, she had a juicy one about how a kid utterly embarrassed themselves in History, which was good enough to get the point across so she could walk away into the brisk fall air. It felt good to be free of the intimidating walls of the school, even if it was only for a few hours, and she spun on the spot, letting the sides and back of her blazer fan out before walking on as if nothing had happened. Prue tended to bust out into random outbursts, anyone who knew her was pretty used to it. The strange looks she got were usually from people that had never seen her or her antics before, and honestly, who cared about them?
By the time she got up to their usual spot, she wasn't paying attention to it anymore and found far more interest in a group of guys a bit off that were playing what looked like a game of tackle football only where they all just ganged up on one really short guy.. and it wasn't all guys, either. "What's shakin' Daddio?" She added without taking her eyes off the group. "Doesn't that beastly chick remind you of Drea?" She said with a light laugh before turning her head back to their tree as she thought about climbing it, only to notice that Caleb was actually cool enough to hang out with them. Only Addy was sleeping through it, how typical of her!
"Er.. you didn't toss her into the lake, Lebby?" She said, noticing how wet her hair was and finally taking in the situation. "Oh! The Kelpies got her!" She said, taking the irrational excuse though not really freaking out about it like Caleb was. Instead, she just kicked him lightly in the side. "God, give her some room and let her walk it off. She's fine."

With one last heave, she finally made it completely onto dry land. Adelaine’s face was pressed into the grass as she tried to catch her breath. A coughing fit started soon after, her body’s way of trying to expel the water that she had inhaled. The water tasted horrid the first time around, the second time wasn’t all that fantastic either. Finally, the coughing ended and the last of the water was out. Grimacing, Addy rolled to the side so she was lying on her back now, and she shut her eyes. Her legs and arms were still throbbing, and it didn’t help that she was freezing in her dripping wet clothes.
Someone shook her and she groaned, refusing to open her eyes. Caleb’s panicked voice was by her ear suddenly, making her wince. He must’ve seen her fall; otherwise he wouldn’t be so worried about her. Of course she felt bad about it, making him feel guilty that is, but it wasn’t like it was her fault that the kid decided to push her in. Adelaine cringed at the memory. That basically ruined her day, thanks stupid pushy kid.
“I think everyone could hear you Caboo.”
Addy finally opened her eyes again to glance up at her brother, whose face overpowered everything else within her vision. She squinted her eyes against the light. Lightly, she pushed on his shoulder to move him away so she could sit up. Laying on the wet grass wasn’t going to help her figure out how to dry off. Grunting, Adelaine pushed herself up so she was at least halfway vertical. She planted her hands behind her to keep herself balanced, and cast a glance back over to her brother.
That is, until a rather bored sounding voice invaded her mind. Adelaine’s gaze switched over to her sister, who stood only a few feet away. She seemed rather preoccupied with a group of guys playing flag football. American football that is. Rolling her eyes at her sister, Addy leaned forward and reached into her pocket to draw out her wand. Her wet hair moved to cling to her face as she shifted forward, and she let out a small squeak as her hair smacked against her cheeks. Damn that was cold!
“I’m glad you’re so concerned for me Panda.”
She grumbled under her breath and she muttered a quick spell. Her clothes dried off in an instant, as did the rest of her. Adelaine stuck her hand out in her sister’s direction, waiting for her to take it and help her up. “You know I can’t swim well. Water and I don’t mix well. It’s like oil and vinegar, except I sink instead of floating.” She grimaced at the thought and waved her hand impatiently in front of her sister. “Now help me up before I toss you into the lake with the kelpies.” Addy grumbled. Clearly her mood had not improved with her little dip.

When Addy answered him, he felt relieved. But he could feel the embarrassment rising in his cheeks. Yeah, he was protective. Pretty much as far as protective could go right now. But it always seemed that whenever he went overboard- much like he had now -he always felt a little embarrassed about it afterwards. Most likely because of the fact he had embarrassed himself by running off to be a knight in dented armor, and he most likely had embarrassed one of the twins when it all came down to it.
Sitting back as she pushed him, he didn't look at his sister, instead he looked towards his friends. They all stood around, seeming to debate whether or not to come over by him. He knew if they did, they would probably make fun of him, then try and hit on the twins. Grabbing Prue's foot as she kicked him, he smirked. "Ah-ah-ah. Play nice, Prue." Tugging on her leg a bit, as if trying to pull her foot off, he could see his friends shifting more and more.
When he let go of Prue's foot, and looked back at Addy, making sure she was okay. It seemed nowadays Caleb was becoming more and more edgy about the twins falling, or getting in some sort of trouble that involved pain. Perhaps it was the fact that it was going to be his last year at Hogwarts, and the girls would have two whole years of causing mischief and mayhem. The thought only made him frown. He didn't want to leave Hogwarts at all. Despite his jumpy attitude towards the twins, home wasn't all that great whenever he and Anthony were in the same room.
Though his friends were a bit off, he could hear their laughter from where his sat. "Loud mouths." He muttered to himself, taking a glance towards the group. One of the guys was taking out his wand, which meant nothing would come good of it. Caleb ignored them again, turning back towards Addy. "How'd you fall in?" He asked, ignoring the laughter that seemed to grow louder. They were a good few yards away, and yet they still were loud.
A moment later, something hit his head hard and fast. "Bloody hell!" Turning to look what had hit him, he noticed his books laying innocently beside him. "Ay Russo! You forgot your books!" They shouted in almost perfect unison. Standing up, Caleb rolled up the sleeves to his robes, and took a few threatening steps towards the group. The guys' laughter died down, most likely finding the look on his face as a warning sign.
Tossing off his robes then and there, he grabbed his books and through them on top of clothing he had discarded. His head was pounding now, and he was utterly pissed off. "Bastards." He mumbled, sitting back down on the ground.
(Chellie made me post, so this is all I could think of..)

As her leg was caught before she could give him a good kick in the side, she groaned in disappointment. She would've enjoyed giving him a good kick, especially if it hurt! Not that she wished pain on anyone, Caleb was just amusing when he got all mad and started yelling and his face turned red. Prue flailed her arms angrily at him, demanding that her leg be freed but it wasn't an action that she should have done leaving only one limb still. Loosing her balance rather quickly, she fell backwards on her butt without getting her arms down fast enough to catch her and sadly, Caleb managed to still have a hold on her leg. Cruel fate just had to annoy her like that. Putting her arms on the ground, she pushed up to get her butt out of the little dent she made in the ground and found that it was suddenly muddy there. "Aids, you just had to spread water around on the ground where I was going to fall, didn't you?" She teased, though her twin would get the bit of a serious tone in there as she alerted her to the fact that her butt was coated in mud now. Wonderful, they all looked ridiculous and crazy now.
"Oh, I was just the right amount of worried. I mean, look at you, you're not dead." She said bluntly, though it was the truth. Prue would look as if she had been worried if she wasn't compared to mister freak out. His hysterical screaming undermined her sisterly concern. Stretching her legs out across Lebby's lap, since obviously he was so dearly attached to them, she leaned back on her arms and sighed. His friends could be annoying, it almost made her want to go up to them and be like 'ooga ooga booga', but then she reminded herself that she was only a couple years younger and she was far too old to be thought of as the dumb, silly little sibling. Just the excessively creepy little sibling.
Loudmouths? How could he possibly describe anyone but himself as that as he ran clear across the lawns shouting 'Addy'. "Yeah, bro, they're the loudmouths here. Not you. You're like a... mouse." She said with a laugh before turning her head towards Addy to see what epic story she concocted for how she ended up face planting into the lake on this chilly fall afternoon. But before that happened, someone had to clobber Lebby on the head with a text book obviously. Only, Prue found it hilarious and burst out laughing, searching back towards the group of older guys to see who had their wand out. They seemed just as amused and it seemed the only person upset about it was her brother himself.
"Woah, woah, woah man. Sit down right this minute, mister emopants!" She yelled sternly with the proper hand motion accentuation on her 'woah's as he pulled up his sleeves like he was going to go and beat them up. Yeah, mister macho was just begging for a black eye. That and she had to scramble her legs out of his way when he jumped up so carelessly and she was peeved by it. "Oh, just ignore them. What are you PMSing? They're still your mates, even if they don't have enough braincells to even be counted as a monkey." She said much more nastily than what would usually come out of Prue.
